Spring Patch Info

Better yet I sent one of my top spies to gain sources at Firaxis. After this he'll do a listening post. ;)

I must be in the minority here. I can't stand the weather below 60F.
I for one, based in Bangkok cannot stand anything under 70F... I just love the climate here... 90+F in the winter and triple digits in the summer.
I wonder how I was able to survive Chicago winters during my student days. I am supposed to have more fat bulk now that I am older but for some reason I cannot stand cold weather at all nowadays.

I don't mind the cold for a little bit each year, seasons are nice. My biggest thing is global warming has seemed to shorten the awesome weather we have in the spring and autumn. Our summers are pure hell. I love civ6, but it's big drawback is the load it puts on my video card which really heats up my room. Hard to get it cool enough to sleep.

I'm okay with temperature ranges from 17F to 117F which consequently is our record low and high. I seen 2F in Virginia (Newport News and Norfolk), and that's a bit cold for my tastes.

P.S. Sorry for Fahrenheit measurements, too much hassle to look up conversions while on my tablet. I can't stand touch screens, I can't see how Jobs thought this was an acceptable input device.

Can we go back on-topic please? Otherwise just open a "damn it's warm thread, no it isn't - thread" or something : P

One of the big things I'm wondering in the next patch, that I didn't see here yet (might have missed it) is the fixing of mod support. Right now using mods is hell. Half of the time they don't work and you have to mess around with files to get them working, and I'm having issues with mods where they work fine until I reload the game. Then all of a sudden they don't work anymore : /

@Eagle Pursuit. Dose the prophet have any information? Please, pretty please? Today? Are we there yet?

Read through the posts from yesterday. Today looks very unlikely. They rolled back the QA build 3 weeks.

They should not need huge patches to balance units better...

Buff spears and pikes a bit.
Buff horrible uniques a bit.
Nerf Knights a bit.
Nerf rams.
See what happens.

I guess its a bit more complicated than just that.^^

To move towards what I would view as ideal, yes, more significant underlying changes would be required.

But Pietato's list would be a big improvement over the current balance, and would take relatively little work. I'd take a 50% improvement now, especially if it can be implemented at 5% of the effort of a complete overhaul. I don't need perfect, just a bit better balance.

Also, from my perspective, the buffs could be as simple as a dramatic production cost reduction for Spears/Pikes, and the nerf to Knight could be as simple as increasing upgrade and maintenance costs. Rams just need to become obsolete at Medieval Walls. Would it remove all my concerns about the current military system? Nope, but it would a great step forward.

They're probably not going to do that. Right now, the production cost of every item is directly related to the type of item and their location in the technology tree.

Yes, that's a stupid system.

Nope. Setback for devs. Some major bug is very likely

Which is a very good reason for not announcing intended patch release dates. I expect they now regret the inadvertent initial release of the video, which induced them to subsequently re-releasing it and putting everyone on alert.

Hurry up and wait, folks.
