Star Wars: The Mod Strikes Back

Ok, I've picked up the fire Breather. I'm modifying Kinboat's Spitting spider to shoot fire. I finished the storyboard, but I'm having some trouble getting a pallette that works.
 
I removed the Settler from the unit to do list, since it may be difficult to come up with something and the old beta mods just used the protocol droid as the settler or we could just use the regular civ3 settler, I don't think it really matters.

For the Generic Warrior, I think we should stick with the Marine. I also think we could use one of la dav's cool sci-fi units as an Early Space Transport.

Does anyone know if you can make Leader Units civ-specific/culture-specific, because I was figuring we could do this:

Rebels: Admiral Ackbar
Empire: Darth Vader or General Veers
Republic: Yoda
Confederacy: General Grievous (we would still have to make him)
Yuuzhan Vong: ???
 
Chris, il have a fiddle on the editor and get back to you. No ideas about the Yuuzhan Vong leader though im afraid... :(

On the settlers i am all in favour of using generic Civ3 settlers, as at the end of the day the people settling in the cities are still human and the poor ones would still carry the rucksacks on their backs... :D

Yes, I think we can use that unit for the Carrack Cruiser. :goodjob:

@Mrkingkong - I think the Pediaicons file also has something to do with it too, because you can make Era-Specific units with the Pediaicons.txt, check the bottom of the file.
 
If not we could always start the civs in different eras, and not let them transfer eras, just condense all their techs into one era. But i suppose this is a bit extreme seeing as all we want to do is have civ-specific leaders! :lol:

EDIT: BTW, what weapon does the juggernaut fire?Is it a laser thingy? Colour? Oh and how do you make laser beams on open fx. Polyphemus, im hoping you can hep me there, although if anyone knows i would be grateful! :goodjob:
 
The Juggernaut shoots lasers. If you're making another Juggernaut, can you make it a bit smaller than la dav's? I plan to use Juggernauts as the tanks/walkers of the Rebel Alliance.
 
Ok, i looked over the to-do list that Chris graciously updated :) and im going to start working on a tech tree; just to make it clear, can it be possible to make a separate tech tree for each civ? Is there going to be a separate tech tree for each part of the mod (Clone Wars, Galactic Civil War, YV Invasion)?Are we going to have era-specific civs? Are there going to be separate ages? Are we going to try to make a single tech tree for all civs? If so, then im gonna have trouble working in the YV into the overall tech tree- they don't use lasers, repulsorlifts, or any of that stuff that all the other ones use.

BTW, i looked at Chris' Improvements/Wonders list and i have a few suggestions/questions.

1. Right now the Ion Cannon has the effects of a SAM Missile Battery and the Defense Grid as a Coastal Fortress. Since Ion Cannons target the big space cruisers, shouldn't the have the effects of coastal fortresses since crusiers would attack from "sea-space" and not the air? The Defense Grid could use the SAM effect on Starfighter units that would attack from the air. Basically, I think that the ICs and the DG should switch abilities.

2. Do the Unit-Producing wonders produce a certain unit every so many turns or do they enable a player to build them? Same thing with the Bounty Hunters Guild.

3. Isn't the Jedi Monument pretty much the Massassi Temple? If not, what else could it be?

4. Could Jabba the Hutt's Palace be a wonder (increase power of Casino+Podracing Course)

Oh yeah, @ Chris: you can make civ-specific leaders (sort of). What you do is you set the creation req. to 'created from battle' (or something like that) and give them all the powers of a leader (just not the graphics).
 
@Chris: on you rto do list you still have listes a Landspeeder. Isn't that the unit i created?
 
@SWC- Umm, I've done the first two eras for the Yuuzhan Vong and everyone else. Currently, I'm revising them for each civ. If you want, we can collaborate on the other two eras, :)

@Poly - You did the Speeder Bike, this is an example of a landspeeder.

@SWC - It's possible for civ can have its own tech-tree by the use of civ-specifc era-none techs. Don't know what were going to do for the scenarios yet. I think the tech tree should be standard for the 4 main civs excluding the YV, but you can throw in some civ-specific techs in there as well.

Maybe I will switch the Ion Cannon and Defense Grid around it does make a little more sense that way I guess.

I believe, the Massassi Temple was built by the Sith and the Massassi.

I don't mind if Jabba's Palace is a wonder.

We don't have to have Civ-Specific Leaders if we can't get them to work right.
