Steam Mac Civ V Not Working 1st Time Trying To Load

Has anyone else had this problem? Steam is hanging at "Download starting"... I just installed the game today and have wasted the entire night trying to get it to play. I have a 27" iMac with:

What OS? Did you check the system reg.?

Go into wherever Steam is installed on a Mac and delete ClientRegistry.blob and then start Steam (make sure Steam is not running before you do this). Hopefully that will work.

And the even more basic question: Did you buy a DVD, or do you download it directly?
