Update III, 2800BC

"They came roaring and screaming. Frightening all. Mrudering, Pillaging and destorying everything in their path. The Hitties are coming."
Yes. A small tribe that formed in central Anatolia have now seen it's rise. In a lighting attack the Hitties have invaded the ancient lands of Mesopotamia. Already their troops pour into the Antiochian kingdom and into the Kingdom of Trebizond. They came to destory the civilzed world, so tell the priests. Using massive chariots, much greater than the ancient ones used by the civilization, and not only that, the hitties came with full iron swords and spears. Nothing stood in their way as they preaper to invade rich Mesopotamia.

In Trebizond the capital is already under direct threat as their troops try several stands in western trebizond. All tried fail as their armies is crashed and broken. Many civilians already left their ancient homes and are moving far into the east.. And as they mvoe they mingle and integrade into the local tribes..

In Antioch the armies stood strong. They weren't as foolish as the Trebizondes. They did not tried to go head to head with the hitties, rather a quick and peacfull retreat from the hittie maraduing armies. Now Antioch men are stationed behind their walls but would it be enough to gaurd them from this threat?

In the Islands of Britian war takes over. The Normans came from the sea to destory the Brettonians. As the beginning it seemed to be a good idea. Brettonian navy was easily countered and destoried. Troops landed in southern Brettonia as easy as their navy was destoried. Soon as more troops landed The Norman forces crossed the Brettonian lands like a knife through butter. So it seemed. When the troops reached Londonium they found a well fortified city. Wooden thick walls stood hgih above the ground and the Normans had nothing to breaking through. So they sieged the city. It wasn't easier. Constant archer fire killed hundreds and attrition soon hit the Norman forces. Brettonian peasents and worked sabotaged Norman supply routes and their army looses became higher and higher. It could not be taken any longer. The sieges stopped and Norman forces retreated to the coasts but not without a punishment. Fire archers begun firing directly into the city and caused great fires. Also on the way to the coast Norman troops destoried all they could and they also didn't left. They only retreated to the coast to regroup what they had. They easily pushed a brave Brettonian try to throw them into the sea. The Norman aim to stay.

In the Mediterian Syracuse awake. Seeing Carthage as an enemy that must be thrown from the island they invade the small colony and easily take the undefended land. Carthaganian citizens are not happy!

Not too far to the east the greatesta rmies and navies clash. The Greek War continues. The Athenians use their large navy to destory the Spartan navy and ruin the Thebeab one in several naval battles in the Aegean. Right after they send troops and occupy all of the two city states colonies across the seas. But this does not help at land...

Spartan armies are the strongest in the world and none oppose them. And they know it. They easily crash Athenian armies at several battles on the way to Athense and ones reaching Athense they lay siege to the city. Athenian archer fire barley helps when the Spartans build ladders from wood in the area. The first try failed. But Athense lost more... Sparta could easily crash Athense if nothing will stand in their way.

In Thebes other things happan. They send men to aid Sparta but most of their army march North. North into their colonies that are being occupied by Athense. They reach the area and immidietly begin attack the tiny Athenian troops in the area. And unexpected attack by Epirus does make some way into Thebes but they soon send men from Athense to gaurd their homes. Things don't look good for the Athenian league...

My sailors are dying because of intensive training? More to the point, 30 galleys worth? That's approximately 30*200=6,000 men who have either ran off or died, bigger than most armies.

:hmm:

Cormac Mac Art found himself at Newgrange quite often recently. He saddled his horse and went there whenever there was something troubling him. Now, the high king paced the grounds deep in thought. After much contemplation, a voice, like the voice he had been hearing in his head so often now, sang the secong line of the Song of Amerghin "I am the ocean wave;". Upon hearing the second line of the song that was sung on the arrival in this holy land, he immediately began to ponder what this line meant. His navy was already strong, so it coudn't be telling him that. 'Hmmm,' thought the high king, 'what is it that a wave does?' Then, as if by a miracle, it came to him. Waves rise in the ocean to crash upon the shore in tempest. His people would have be like the wave, rising up in valor and then sweeping away the enemies, like a wave sweeps away the sand on the beach.
