Cormac Mac Art looked over the map of the known world. After looking at the map he came to a decision. The Emerald Isle was falling into foreign hands. Sure, the Scots are Erin's cousins, bu they still aren't Irish. Settlement of the island was the essential next step if his beloved island was to flourish. Tara was a great city, but more would be needed. Also, if any of this was to be accomplished, a strong military was required. He rose and walked out to great the bright sun as it rose over the hill of Tara. As he walked through the fields of clovers and listened to the calls of birds in the nearby forest, he was reasured. In the end, his people had been given this land by the great Tuatha De Danann, and none but the Tuatha De could take it back.

Unlike in the other NESes, you don’t have to pay economy levels to do anything (my reasoning is that no matter what some people say, national economy is not as unstable and absurd as to rise and drop in turns as the years go). You will have three spend points for every turn, to be spent on increasing any stat save for economy. Otherwise, you could use both spend points to grow economy.
If you want to hurry up a project by two turns, you can sacrifice an economy level, please note that you can do it only once during a project. Otherwise you can sacrifice an economy level to receive five extra with the other two spending points for a turn.
Economy can, just like any other stat, grow or decrease due to random events. However it is even more influenced by random events then other stats as this is the crucial one.
Depression-Bankrupt-Recession-Very Poor-Poor-Not Bad-Normal-Good Enough-Growing-Rich-Very Rich-Richer-Richest-Economic Powerhouse-Monopoly (after Monopoly, you get Monopoly+x, where x is the amount of economy levels beyond Monopoly)

Which one? Two or Three.

Kal'thzar- Here is what I know of Scottland's fouding: Ulster in northern Ireland set up colonies in Scotland. At the time, Ireland was known as "Scoti" and Scotland "Scoti Minor". As time went by and the Anglisized version of the Galic name for Ireland, Ireland, became more popular Scotland became known as Scoti, and later Scotland. But, according to the history Erez set up, the Scottish arose from a mix of Norman and native Scottish traditions (as in the Isle of Britain) while Erin arose through a mix of Norman and Irish traditions. Also, in this NES at least, it would appear that you are more British than Irish because your capital is in Britain, not Ulster.

Kal'thzar- But saying your the Scots naturally asociates you with highlands, sheep, and haggis. Also, the leader you chose, Fergus Mor, is famous for being the first Scottish king to disassociate himself from Ireland. A great Scot, but no Irishman. I know that at the time Ulster and Scotland had the same crown (which was subservant to the Iriah high kings by the way) but, as I said, you particularly chose the king who seperated Scotland and Ireland, thus creating the Scottish people, rather than one of his forebearers who were based in Ulster and werre more Irish.

EDIT: Erez- I have the same question as kal'thzar, could you clarify the economy so we know how much we can spend?

Declaration of Egypt to its People

Note: this speech is to be copied onto papyrus and read by scribes throughout the land.

The Egyptian people are a chosen people of Amun-Ra, and have been blessed by him and all the gods with the great land of Egypt.

The peoples of the world are fundamentally imperfect and evil. To become good, and to attempt a perfection approaching that of the gods, especially Amun-Ra, the most perfect of the gods, they must be learn the right path.

It is the role of the Egyptian people to provide this path: not by force, unless absolutely necessary, as righteousness cannot be achieved through fear, but by being an example of the results provided by the path of Amun-Ra and the other gods.

In order to achieve this, the Egyptian people must rise above those around them, guided by their Pharaoh, a manifestation of Amun-Ra and the other gods on earth, and by their priests, the advisors of the Pharaoh. They must become educated, and cultured, so they can shine out like a beacon to the rest of the world. To begin this process, schools will be established by the temples so that all of Egypt, men, women, and children, can be set on the path of Amun-Ra, the path to enlightenment.

But not all races will want to become higher and better. Some will try to destroy this beacon bravely broadcasting its noble ideals to the rest of the world. So Egypt must learn to defend itself.

For Egypt to defend itself, the people of Egypt must be able to defend themselves. So all the men of Egypt, upon attaining manhood, will serve in the army of the Pharaoh, the army of Egypt, the army of Amun-Ra, for five years, and, after returning from the army, will be able to defend Egypt and its ideals, the ideals of Amun-Ra, upon a moments notice, offering resistence even should it seem that Egypt is doomed to fall.

Egypt will never give up on its ideals, so the Egyptian people must never give up on their ideals.

Are there going to be trade routes? If so, what are the rules for them?

"I am the wind that blows upon the sea,
I am an ocean wave;
I am the murmur of the surges;
I am seven battalions;
I am a strong bull;
I am an eagle on a rock;
I am a ray of sun;
I am the most beautiful of herbs;
I am a courageous wild boar;
I am a salmon in the water;
I am a lake upon a plain;
I am a cunning artist;
I am a gigantic, sword wielding champion;
I can shift my shape like a god."

This is The Song of Amergin. Spoken on the first and last nights of Lughnassadh, it reminds the people of the multitude of nature and the gods. But that is not all, it is meant to remind the people of the great god Lugh the Long Hand. Lugh was, nay, is, the greatest of Tuatha De Danaan. He is the multi-talented god, as strong as strongest wrestler, ans poetic as the greatest bard, he is the ideal of Erin. On this warm summer night the his majest, Cormac Mac Art listned intently to the bard. Though he had heard the song many a time, it seemed to him as if only now he was truly hearing it. He could sense the presence of Lugh in the words that were spoken by the bard. He also heard a faint sound, like listening to the spirits on Samhain night, calling out to him form the vast expanse of the star-studded sky. And then he realized that it was not from the void of space that the voice was calling to him, but rather form within himself. It was his heart telling him something. As the bard sang on, the voice grew louder and the king began to decifer the message. "Guardian of spear, stone, cauldron and sword, my brethren call out ot you. From the rocky coast were many a ship has meat its end to Irish sea. From Giant's Causway to Cliffs of Moher. A lepracaun sings in the pot of gold and a red haired girl cast gold into the bog. The bed of Medb, the Goddess Queen, lies empty no more, and the stone shrieks its un-earthly call. The spear that never misses, the sword that kills and heals. The cauldrton of eternall life. A fair maden on the beach with hair of spun gold. She calls to Erin and Manannan, but gives not a word of the other. The clover rests on the hill and dragons sleep no more. Follow these words and those of the founding and the days of the Four Cities shall be renewed." As the bard came to the end of the song, the voice finally fell quiet into a whisper before dieing off. The king new that he had just heard the words of Lugh, but new not what they meant. Many a night after that the king would spend at Newgrange pacing the land contemplating what he had heard. If only he knew that the words of the gods were not as complex as they seemed......

Orders sent!

Orders from Cyprus:

-Colonize the southern Turkish coast, guard with new troops
-Recruit spearmen
-Recruit archers
-Build navy

No, but you might want to send troops to colonize...

Also, we have three spending points, not two. And you need to specify which part of the army (spearmen, archers, etc.).

About economy:
You get 3! Sorry about that mistake :)

About Trade:
For now, no trade routes.

About how people are created:
I made that norman thing for my fun. Yo can say whatever you want after all you don't know about those Normans as it was long ago.

And a Note:
From next turn. Each orders sent will have your country name on\in them. Otherwise I wouldn't remember who you are :) for this turn i'll try my best...

I'll work on NPC's soon.

The Cult of the Dragon

On the Creation of the world and humans:

The Cult of the Dragon pertains to the ledgend of the formation of the world, supposedly, the world was born in the Fiery Breath of the Dragon; Glaurung. Shaped by the Strength of his Taloned Fore-arms. The Formation of the world complete, Glaurung settled down to sleep. But all was not well for during his great slumber his two Children, Scatha and Ancalagon had created life upon this world.

Without their Fathers Guidance an argument developed between Scatha and Ancalagon over what use life should be used.

Both had recognised powerfull tools.

Scatha had seized upon the power of good. The power of Light and Change. Loyalty and Trust.

Ancalagon had seized upon the power of evil. The power of Darkness and Immutability. Lies and Betrayal.

Both Beleived they were in the right, that they had the ultimate tool at hand. Bickering they began to fight and challenge one another until Ancalagon took it upon himself to Deceive a human about the great treasures Scatha held. This Human Known as Fram, hunted Scatha, until he met him in Scatha's lair at the ends of the Earth. Frams tale is not for now, needless to say his Spirt rests in the Netherworlds as eternal punishment for his misdemeanors.

The Anger of Scatha when he learned of Ancalagons Deception was terrible to behold. Whole Mountains ranges were Destroyed in his wake, Oceans Boiled and the very air itself burned. Scatha and Ancalagon met in the bowels of the earth, to this very day the Earth still bears the scars of the conflict. The place of the great titanic battle is said to still burn hot from the Fiery breath of the two Dragons. The Earth Still moves in concert to the heavy blows as each tried to gain an advantage over the other. But to no Avail.

Breaking apart, they realized that further battle would only destroy this fair world. Instead they agreed to settle the argument by making their two tools, of good and evil available to the humans that resided here. Whichever power prevailed would be the stronger and better tool.

To this very day they reside in the Heavens watching as their gambit resolves itself, Scatha watches during the daytime, circling the globe with his majestic golden Scales reflecting the Glory of his favoured tool. Whilst Ancalagon Rises in the night, His Silver Scales Glimmering down upon us.

The Cult of the Dragon

On the Gods

Glaurung
The father of the World, and the father of the Dragons Scatha and Ancalagon. It is said that he will raise in the end days to bathe this world in eternal fire reshaping it and beginning anew.

Scatha
The eldest of Glaurungs sons, it is said he was born when Glaurung created the Stars. He is the keeper of the power of Good.

Ancalagon
The youngest son of Glaurung, it is said he was born when Glaurung created the murky depths of the Oceans.

The powers of the Gods

Glaurungs powers are mightier than any others. He can Incinerate whole peoples with his breath, Shape Mountain ranges with his claws. And his Will [1] can shape the fates of man itself.

Scatha and Ancalagons powers are lesse, but they both have extremly strong wills. however they have fashioned tools; Good and evil. This in some repescts makes them more powerfull than their Father, but it also binds them to their tools.

[1] Will is the equivilent of magic (although not hocus-pocus, more along the lines of "My will shall be done")
