I was thinking of coming back to play this. Any good country suggestions? Or can I create my own?

personally, i woudl suggest either osmthign in east asia, or Africa; Taiwan, or Mali as examples (and anythign other then china or zululand for a change!)

Take Siam man I will become your ally and together we can take out the Malays and work together for global domination. Wait did I just say that out loud?

@alex: Your economy was unstable before, IIRC.
@Fantasmo: Alright, consider it done.
@das: the city was mentioned in update four, and has been on the maps since then. If your question was asking how did the IN-GAME Dacians and Illyrians know about it, its because its a trading port city, and the Dacians told the Illyrians.
@erez: I don't mind "if" orders, just as long as it doesn't entail future telling (example: "If I will loose in this battle, then don't attack" etc). Otherwise, I will try to reply as fast as I can. Fastest way is by PM and AIM. But if the update is not the next day, please do as much diplo on the thread as possible.
@naervod: Some sort of chinese nation, or African nation, would be great. But anywhere is okay, really. We also need some middle eastern players. You can create your own as well.

The makeshift “King” Of Myceanae looked out upon the land from his quarters in Athens. He paced the room wondering how he would bring his country together.
He then realized what he would do he tourned to his left and looked out on the distance towards Illyria and said “A Nobel Council he then began to write 3 notes one to the 3 greatest men he had.

Maximillian Romus was the great warrior who not only trained the new soldiers of Myceanae but trained many of the irregulars that joined uo when Myceanae had formed. He would rule the land north of Athens.

The Imperial Dragon Throne: The Court of The Celestial T'ai-tsu Emperor
An introduction to the workings of the Guomindang state

p2.gif

Zhao K'uang-yin, The T'ai-tsu Emperor and founder of the Guomindang Kingdom

The Guomindang Kingdom was established approximately 1400 BCE under the riegn of The T'ai-tsu Emperor Zhao K'uang-yin. K'uang-yin was quite a strong willed leader, and after several years of bloody campaigns, managed to unite the squabbling tribes of the Yangtze River valley into one single nation under the riegn of the Guomindang court at Nanjing. Nanjing was chosen as a capital for its prime location, it was near enough the sea to serve as a major trading hub, but was far enough inland so that it was protected from coastal raids. It was also the homecity of K'uang-yin, and as such held a special place in his heart. Thus the Guomindang Kingdom was established.

Ruling the kingdom, was a civilian court system established under the the power of the T'ai-tsu emperor. It was to be controlled by civilians, for fear of military overthrow, and because the military was quite self serving. So, K'uang-yin established a civil examination system, to make sure that those who governed the nation were effective administrators. Here, in Nanjing, the first Meritocracy was established, where one's social standing would be determined by performance in the civil examinations, not by their by their family name. Another thing unique to the court was an annual audit of all ministers. This audit was designed to report every expenditure of the Throne, and to make sure that all funds were appropriated adequately and responibly. If the audit was short funds, or the throne had overspent, then the mistake would be corrected and all would return to normal.

The Military, although quite effective in unifying the kingdom, was relegated to a secondary status government division. Armies were kept as trained conscripts, and only a small professional army was kept during peacetime. Thus, most of the troop numbers on paper are actually the mobolization capacity of the Kingdom, not the actual numbers serving at peacetime. However, a fast system was designed so that in case of a sudden attack, cities could each mobolize their military corps and armies could be formed quickly to stave off invasion. The Early years of the Guomindang saw the beginnings of an extensive road network, designed to increase trade and to increase the effeciency of the mobolization system.

The Navy was a little bit more priveledged than the army corps, and was usually given more funds. Since the Kingdom's lifeblood was the Yangtze river, an extensive inland fleet was formed, to protect all river merchants and inland cities along the river. A blue water fleet was kept to protect coastal lands, and was constantly on the patrol.

This system, coupled with an effective military arm and competant ministers, insured the continuation of the Guomindang state and its interests in the world.
