The British continue their pursuit into Ireland, taking little risks and a slow pace. This has allowed much of the Irish to counterattack and strategize; dealing harsh blows to the British army. Meanwhile, the exploration galleys establish contact with the Normans, Vikings, and Gaul. -200 Spearmen
As a major port is established in Australis, the Javanese are able to expand the colony and prevent it from collapsing. Meanwhile, further expeditions find fertile land in the south, but a sizable native population. After establishing some sort of colony, trade begins, and the Javanese are introduced to a new Australis delicacy: wine. Also, in the home islands themselves, fighting breaks out between the newly formed state of Malaysia and Java, as the Javanese attempt to conquer Suleweisi. While Javanese armies fare well in Sulewiesi, armies in Borneo meet fierce opposition, and a counterattack brings a Malaysian invasion of Javanese Borneo. Luckily for the Javanese, the Malay are attacked from the north as well by an unknown host.
Malaysia: -200 Spearmen, -200 archers
Java: -200 Spearmen, -200 archers
The Vikings make advances in the north, albeit slow and stressful, and only along the coasts. Meanwhile, Danish holdings are expanded south, as are the other Baltic colonies, which are doing very well in terms of defense, economy, and population.
The Tripoleans, under the military genius of General Bakoslav, pull out from the wasted badlands in northern Dacia, and head along the Danube, securing a protected and fast supply route along the river. However, unknown to the Tripoleans, the Dacians had a different plan. Keeping some of their army to slow down and distract the Tripoleans, the Dacians instead build a port city in the south, where a fleet is made. With this fleet, the Dacians sail northward and pillage the thriving coastal Tripolean city, as it was defenseless, the small Tripolean navy was out on a training mission. Such a blow to the second largest city in Tripolye has crippled the Tripolean economy, and greatly demoralized the troops, while helping the moral of the Dacians. Later, in one of the villages captured by the Tripolean army, documents were found that was not written in any language Bakoslav had ever known. However, one of his men did recognize the letters. Illyrian, he said. Upon further translation, the document was indeed a military strategy, depicting the razing of the Tripolean city, and the creation of a Dacian fleet.
Dacian: -350 Spearmen, -300 Swordsmen, -200 Archers
Tripolean: -100 Spearmen, -100 Archers, -50 Horsemen, -2 economies
The Japanese continue their struggle for Hokkaido, fighting the Ainu every bit of the way. However, despite tragic losses, the Japanese do well, and nearly conquer the island. The remaining warlord asks for peace, and offers anything that the emperor of Japan wishes, just so long as his people remain independent. -200 Spearmen
The Brisbanites show their extraordinary ability for military combat as their first battles are fought against the Aborigines. Everyone knew it was coming, but nobody knew when. The Aborigines were fought back, and much fertile land is taken for the Brisbanites, at little to no cost.
Upon exploration westwards, the people of Calicut discover a small, uninhabited and unfertile island they quickly name Socotra. However, this island may be all but useless economy-wise, but it is a great port of destination for explorers to the west, and is quickly becoming a jewel of the Calicut Empire.
The Gauls soon fall to a plague of black men who have stormed their land from the south. These invaders bring to the land many fires and murders, disrupting the growing Gaulic economy, and putting the army at full alert. However, upon questioning on of the men, the Gauls soon realize that it was the Sphardians in the south who sent the raiders to them, and an army is positioned just near the border as the Gauls await a response from the accused.
The Sicilian wars continue, as the allies (Illyrians, Ligurians, and Mycenaeans) pounce upon the weakening island people. The Illyrians continue their defensive campaign, as forts are sprung up in southern Italy, most famous is the Fortress of Thurii, which serves as a grave reminder the uselessness of a Sicilian attack on Italian shores. Meanwhile, a Sicilian expedition to Sardinia to reinforce the island is blocked, as Mycenaean and Illyrian galleys circle the island. The Sicilian ships are trapped in harbor, where they begin to rust. Meanwhile, the Ligurians enjoy a quick success in Sardinia, with almost no losses. Most of the losses came to the Illyrians, whose raiding parties met resistance in Sicily. All in all, though, this round of fighting held little victories for either parties.
Sicily: -200 Spearmen, -5 Galleys
Liguria: -150 Spearmen
Illyria: -250 spearmen, -2 Galleys
Mycenae: -2 Galleys
Meanwhile, from Gothic emissaries, the Illyrians jump into the Iron Age. At the same time, on an island in the Indian Ocean, Sinhalese merchants also smelt iron. And in one more instance, along the rolling plains and melting deserts, the Satari smelt iron for the first time.
