The disease came out of nowhere. Although the greatest Javanese minds point their fingers towards the filthy Malay, nobody can know for sure where it came. But the point is it came. The hardest hit were the fighting armies, the Malay, Siamese, and Javanese. Whole armies were wiped out over the course of a week; others were slowed greatly in their push for domination over one another. But there did come a good thing from this scourge. Pushed to compensate for a much-reduced army, the Javanese switched their heavy reliance on the army, to rely heavily on their navy. New ships were designed to hold more and travel faster. The sail was invented. Iron hinges and weapons were fitted to the galleys. Coupled with a reduced army, the Javanese resulted to quick raids, and securing long stretches of land by using Galley transportation. The Malay were soon expelled from Borneo, and the Javanese regained dominance.

The Novgorodians finish building yet another planned city, the city of Riga. Built around a natural harbor, the city is host to many a trade expedition from all over the Baltic. This counts for the fourth major trade port in the Novgorod territory, and reaffirms Novgorods trade domination over the Baltic region. One out of every four Novgorodians live or work in a trading port, and nearly half of all trade in the Baltic and North Sea goes through the Novgorodian ports. (+3 econ, +2 culture).
The Vikings make a big push against the barbarians in the north, uniting more Vikings under the kingdom of Vikingland. However, resistance continues in the more remote mountains and hideouts. It is never expected for the resistance to be put down, even if the land falls to the King in Oslo.
The British finally complete the greatest lighthouse ever to be built by man. Located in London, this lighthouse serves as more then just a testament of British ingenuity of fondness of the seas, but also the trademark of the British themselves. The vastness of this lighthouse has inspired many to join the navy (+100 galleys), as well as serve as a catalyst for many who were thinking of studying the waves (+ education). Meanwhile a combined Viking-British offensive has destroyed Scot resistance, and the island falls to the Brits. Also, while the British permit the existence of the Vikings in northern Scotland, the Vikings grow nervous of British outposts at Norway and Denmark. Holding such a vital waterway within their grasp is very advantageous, and goes to increase trade not only with the Vikings, but the Novgorodians and Fins as well (+econ). Also, Ireland finally falls, as the British troops root out the insurgents hiding the Irish highland. But underground resistance still persists, and requires an occupation force of considerable size.

Guomindang establishes the fist meritocracy a society based upon the merit of a person, not their social status. In opposition, the aristocracy begins to form their own government sponsors and so nearly fifty percent of the Court Council is influenced by the aristocrats. Many of the social welfare reforms for the lower class were scrapped as the aristocrats attempt to gain control of the wild government.
While the Calicutians attempt to civilize and unite the Berbers, it comes at no use. The tribes remain fighting each other, even after given iron weapons were given to some tripes, and other tribes were helped directly by the Calicutians. Also, many Calicutian adventurers are found in Egypt, and even further north into Mesopotamia.
Without a word, the Gujarat invaded and secured the small strip of land Calicut possessed in the Gujarati peninsula. Surprised and quickly routed, the small Calicutian force surrendered to avoid more bloodshed.

The Sinhalese once again establish a colony in the Bengal area, only to encounter harsher enemies in a more numerical number. However, the Sinhalese were ready this time. Myth becomes reality in Japan as sailors finally find the mythical lands of Okinawa. Here they find descendents of the Japanese defeated earlier, but are not greeted as enemies but as friends. Okinawa was immediately abducted into the Empire, and was given semi-autonomy to rule themselves. However, a strong naval base was established on the island already, and this base is used to explore even more south. This has opened the gate to Japanese exploration of the seas.
As the Trypoleans reach Sibiu, they notice that resistance has quieted. They practically walked up to the city. The Dacians soon notice that Brakoslav has divided his army into three parts, each attacking from different directions. Instead of break their army, the Dacians await until all three come together for a strike against the city. Feeling numerical superiority and patriotism for their city, the Dacians rally behind their commander, Verkusum (educated in Illyria). A good counter to Brakoslav, Verkusum was well aware of the Trypolean tactics, and formulated his own formation to counter these. When the attack came, the Dacians were ready, and a final battle took place outside the walls of the city. Brakoslav at first ordered the spearmen and archers to advance, which were countered by a rain of arrows from Dacian archers, and an assault with the numerical superior Dacian spearmen. Attempting to outflank Verkusum, Brakoslav sent his cavalry along the outside, but were soon met with the newly created Dacian Mounted troops, which outnumbered the Tripolyeans 2:1. The battle was a disaster for Brakoslav. Leading an inferior army, far from supplies and home, against a raging army bent on protecting their capital and king, he could not overcome the odds. Unfortunately, he did not order the retreat, and instead most of the Tripolyean army was destroyed or retreated.

Dacia: -400 Spearmen, -300 Swordsmen, -200 Archers, -400 Horsemen
As the Tripolyean army fell apart, Verkusum launched a counter attack that recaptured all previous Dacian land, and stopped at the Tripolye border.
But the Tripolye are not at peace yet. Sensing their weakness and taking the prime time to strike, Moskovia launches a four-pronged attack, set at capturing the capital within days of the start of the war. Surprised and unprepared, the Tripolyeans are beat back ferociously. For instance, the Crimean Brigade, one of four Moskovian armies, experienced no casualties for the first five days of the war. However, as the armies began to near the capital, and the attempted spread of the Eastern Church religion to the people of Tripolye who are staunch Dvubozhists, the resistance began to step up a notch. Small militias are formed all across the country who wage guerilla war against the Moskovians. With word of the fall of Brakoslav and his army in Dacia, the Tripolyean King announces a new general, who is soon to rally what was left of the army and defend Poljansk.

Another force, pouncing on the Tripolyeans, boarded their ships and headed for the coast of Tripolye. However, unknowingly the Nicaeans, at the Dardanelles, stopped them. When asked why, the Nicaeans replied with the fact that their economic future is linked to Tripolye. And thus, the Mycenean invasion was halted.
Turkistar experiences a new friendship with the Bactrians, as a regime change has destroyed the old regime and established a new, open King who welcomes trade, peace, and alliance with the Turkistar people. (+economy to both).
A religion sweeps the Moskovian countryside, enveloping the people in its new faith. Too blessed to have a name, the Eastern Church will suffice for now, being the name of the chain of temples and churches now established by the government to help the people in their worship. The Church has grown large in a very short time, already controlling most aspects of how the country is ran.
Back in Salonae, the Imperial Palace is finally complete. This structure, fit for the Illyrian king, features over five hundred arches and twelve domes, a testament to the new age of technology the world is entering. (+2 econ, +2 education, +1 culture).
Another war springs up in Europe. The Sphardians, finally content with their wall of forts and stones built on the border, launch an invasion of Gaul. Just then, the Normans, before saying that they will protect Gaul, also launch an invasion from the north. Expecting this from an unknown tipster, the Gauls prepared defenses on both fronts. This, however, was not enough. With stunning speed, the Sphardians crush the defenses and move into the heartland of Gaul. While the Normans have some difficulty at first, they also are able to crush Gaulic defenses, and even take the capital. The large and taunting Gaulic army, one of the largest in the world, quickly folded under the two pronged attack, most deserting the military. Only patches of Gaulic army remains in the east, where they beg for Ligurian aid.
