StJNES4: The Normal Story NES

Halifax

oops, change my ancient UU to Inuit Warrior ( really ferocious, higher attck)

Azale laughed to himself. The plan was going perfectly. Halifax was no longer just a wannabe port. It's people were no longer the primitive "natives" that the Viking explorers had first seen. Actually, he felt embarrassed for his old ancestors and always shyed away from his past. How would it be taken among the ranks that their General was a descendant of a "ice native" as they call them now, not Vikings like most people nowadays. the answer was, it wouldn't be taken.

But, he still blessed himself lucky for the Vikings arrival so long ago, otherwise he would most likely be half-naked running around in the sub-zero temperatures yelping and hollaring for a rabbit or deer. Nope, ever since the Vikings arrived, everything was much better. They had learned miltary techniques, organization of a government, and housing that would always keep them warm.

And now the Confederation of Halifax was expanding...

The King of Ur stood watching his troops prepare to move out. They travled in files of 10. The great Ki Soldiers(Soldiers of the earth god Ki) were marching slowly around the hill where the King and several of his Royal guard stood watch over him. The Ur army had expanded them already into Uruk and Eridu as well as lands farther south. The city state of Larsa had joined them after the two conquests.

The might of the Ur forces were great in the day's standerd. 700 soldiers stopped in front of the KIng. 400 Larsan troops stood behind the Ur soldiers. The Larsen King walked up to the King of Ur. The two stood side by side. The Ur king began to speak.

"Today is a day for not only Ur but our friends too. The larsens have joined us on our campaign to unify this land. We shall no longer stand as two, but as one. Today you will not go out there for Ur or Larsa, but for Sumer. For the glory of Sumer!"

The men began to cheer and yell. The Laren king then took his small copper crown and handed it to the Ur king. Then the Ur king took of his own crown and placed it above the Laren crown and put it on his head. It was now the Sumer crown.

The troops then began to march on to the cities of Langash and Girsu. Sumer was begining to grow.

The hunting skills led them to victory many times over their yeatrs with ambushes and sneak attacks.

Strong: Ambushes/Gurrilla warfare, close quarters combat, small combat
Weakness: Large scale battle, enemy archers/ranged combat

Update One, 4900bc.

Jerusalem becomes the trading market of the world. All neighboring tribes begin to trade at the huge bazaars in Jerusalem and other major villages. One economy increase.

Hombres de Guerra meet with the Basques, a northern tribe with a strong army. They declare that Iberia is theirs, and any further expansion of the Spanish will be dealt with accordingly.

Georgian militarists push fiercely to the north, destroying whatever lay in its way. They have been very weakly challenged by the local tribes, but rumor has it of a more powerful foe in the north.

In their attempt to spread their culture, the Floridans meet fierce opposition by the Siminoles Americans. These fierce fighters have one major advantage of the Floridians – they have the bow and arrow.

The Floridians begin construction of a huge wall that will stretch around Orlando and to the sea. It is expected to take them another 400 years (4 turns).

Being literally the only civilizations around, the Halifaxians march towards the mainland. They also begin the Statue of Wings – a dedication to all explorers. This is expected to take another 200 years to complete (2 turns).

The Zulus, known for their Impi throughout the region, literally frighten away any worthy foe. However, raids along the shores of the tyrannical nation hurt the economy, as the little farms that they do have are burned to a crisp. It is believed that people across the sea from a large island are committing this atrocity.

The Korean people, natives to northern Korea, halt the expansion of the greater civilization in the south. The Choson’s are fulfilled with their peninsula for now. The first canoes are built by Choson scientists in their nation.

The Angles, a civilization of the southern Britain island, threatens the Scottish. With superior numbers, the Angles charge relentlessly at the Scottish in the north. However, the Scottish are much better fighters, and are able to repulse these attacks easily. However, another threat looms of the great Scots, a canoe arrives in Edinburgh, claiming to be from Ireland, an island to the west. They threaten war if tribute is not paid.

The Johanites, a new power to southern Australia, claim land around their own bay. A new leader, Johan the Despot, eagerly awaits more land brought to him by his mighty armies. He also orders the construction of a huge tower with fire on top, so to show to the world the powers of his people and the ways of settling. This will take 400 years, so says his analyst (4 turns).

The Great Mongols live up to their reputation, and leave none alive who they conquer. However, a force looms over the horizon – a force whom call themselves the Chinese.

The Sumerian army, though poorly trained, were very well equipped which led to their over all victory over the southern Mesopotamian city-states. However, a coalition is building against them in the north. Leaders of a tribe called the Assyrians of Nineveh are siding with the Babylonians of Babylon to once and for all end the Sumerian expansion.

Frightened by the building forces of the Nubians in the south, Egyptian settlers are sent north to settle the rest of the Nile valley and the delta.

Forces more then doubling that of the Tuetons gather at the borders of the kingdom. They call themselves the Aryans, and claim to be physically and mentally superior to any civilization in the world, including the puny Tuetons and their knights.

Spain creates beer (;))

Contacts

Egypt, Israel, and Sumer have contact.

OOC

You may now pick the religion of your people. This is just for fun, but also may have some effects in the future.

clarification:

Rmember, this is realistic for a stone age civilization in the world, that is why there is little expansion.

I will make this game as realistic as i can. if you continue to expand, it will be much harder keeping your citizens under control, needing a lot of army to stay home. Many will want independence, others will want equality. Also, larger borders are very hard to defend.

Anyways, you still have more expansion before any of this happens - just a heads up.
