Switzerland was a peaceful place, almost unaware of the threats of war around its borders. Would
anything disturb them? Apparently not. Either too small to be noticed or its pikes considered too
troublesome to overcome, the Swiss were at peace, and likely to remain so. However, storm
clouds loomed over the horizon...
Switzerland was in the middle of a great clash in world religions. On one side was the Amonics,
that ancient religion that was the religion of over half the people. Then there was Christianity, a
religion on the rise. They constituted a very small, but growing minority. The two were mutually
incompatible. Squeezed in between all these was the religion of the Native Swiss, a derivative
polytheism that was losing its followers.
The government proclaimed the polytheism was the real, true religion, and no one had ever really
fussed about it. However, these so called men led by god were losing their hold on the people.
They had promised glory to the people. The people had not seen any of that glory. They had
promised new economic life with the new trade network. Benefits from that were slow in
coming. They had promised everything, and the people found themselves in a small nation with a
small army, a failing economy, and a dissatisfied populace.
The king attempted to please the people with new public works that brought people in from the
country, and into the cities. These included the great works of the Trade Network. Still, though it
had yet to manifest itself in a material form, unrest and dissatisfaction was slowly growing....
Orders:
Grow Economy (Due to people being brought in from the countryside to work on urban projects for the king).
Continue Wonder.
