Update Seventeen: 1857 A.D.

The European Science Agency has made a breakthrough in Berlin once more, thanks to heavy British financial support. Drawn mostly from captured Egyptian tanks in the African campaign, the ESA has devised its own armored track car, naming it the Euro. The Euro tank is more heavily armored then the Egyptian counterpart, but lacks the firepower and speed.

German industry has begun to make a shift from consumer products to weapons and armor as the government begins to interfere in the capitalist market by building its own public war production facilities. While increasing the German war production, this has a negative effect on the overall economy of the German state (- economy).

An American Science Agency is also established in Philadelphia within the USSA, a rival to the European Science Agency, and funded by all communist nations (except Sahara) but most primarily by the USSA government. The agency is small and hasn’t made any discoveries worth mentioning, but it is a start for the Americans.

Meanwhile cultural divisions within the USSA rocks the country as protests are held throughout the Floridian region, calling for a return of the troops from South America. They blame the communist government for the deaths of many Floridian seamen who lost their lives in the Battle of the Galapagos Islands with Ozeania, and blame the government for an unwanted war in South America. Florida is the second most populated region in the USSA, preceded by the Halifaxian region and followed by Chicago region, all three once independent nations and still distinct peoples held together only by the bonds of communism.

Political turmoil and civil war continues to rock the world’s most ethnically diverse nation in the world. King Abdul IV shocks the world when he announced the formation of a completely independent Kazakh state, and partitions Sumer’s entire eastern frontier for the Kazakhs. While appeasing the Kazakhs, he has only made it harder to quell the other ethnic minorities, including the Persians, Georgians, and Israelis to name the major ones. The bloodiest region is the Persian region, where radical Muslims suicide bomb Sumerian installations and government buildings, as well as forming a militia that has captured many cities. Georgia also remains a very disturbing place to live as snipers take the heads off of Sumerian officials and guerilla warfare has taken the lives of thousands of Sumerian troops. Support for the army in Mesopotamia is also beginning to falter as a draft is instituted and 700,000 young men are sent to remote locations of the Kingdom to put down rebellions.

The Arabs let King Abdul know that he is not alone as twenty Arab divisions are welcomed into Israel to aid the Sumerians with keeping control of the Kingdom’s most precious territory: the Levantine provinces including the world’s largest port, Haifa.

Casualties: -2 Sumerian Divisions

The war in Manchuria takes many lives on both sides. It is only a matter of time, though, before the Pacificans would have given way to superior numbers, training, and equipment. They just could not stand up to the complete might of China, not to mention her Ozeanian ally who sent fifteen divisions as part of the “Ozeanian Expeditionary Force.” Together, the Ozeanians and Chinese have broken through the Pacifican lines (with the help of Egyptian tanks) and have driven most of the line into Pacifican territory. Casualties are high, though, and it is likely that the Pacificans will not give up soon.

Casualties: -5 Pacifican Divisions, -5 Chinese Divisions, -2 Ozeanian Divisions

Tensions continue to rise in Madagascar as the two governments head on a collision course. In response to an Egyptian threat, the Democratic Republic issued a draft. In response to that, however, the Imperial Island has also issued a draft. The Republic has had continued pressure over the last few years as the Imperial Island has embraced democracy and capitalism, and is seeing her economy grow at a pace more the double that of the Republic’s. There has been much pressure for a complete unity of the island once more, but the current Republican administration has denied it.

Throwing everything they got, the African Union troops are able to actually stall the greatest army in the world, the Egyptian army, at the shores of the Zambezi River. Every attempt the Egyptians make at crossing the banks has resulted in a heavy bombardment by African artillery and a huge assault of infantry. Africa troops are exhausted though, and their shells are limited. It is only time before Egypt makes its way across the last natural boundary and overwhelms the African Union. Thousands of African troops already have deserted the army, doubling the “casualty” rate within the military.

Casualties: -3 Egyptian infantry divisions, -10 African infantry divisions

Sorry for short update, i really was not in "the mood" tonight. basically i only wrote something for you if you did something important. Other then that, i left it out for my own sake.

To Eygyt.
it looks like it will come to blows. while we do not see the need for your direct ascitance, we would be pleased it you helped us assure that no other nations interfre with this conflict. in that manner, we ask for your help in puting the DMR under inderrection for the duration of the conflict. while we are sure we can take care of the DMR ships without problems, it would be the interferance of other nations that we could not handle.

TO the world.
Please, Stay out of the conflict on our Island. this is a purely internal Matter, and your interferance would not be apriciated.

To the DMR
STAND DOWN. if you do so, we would be more then happy to maintain the status quo and stand down ourselves. but if you continue on your current course, Indurection and war will be the result.

jason - not to be a naysayer but i don't think i got those last 2 economies from the sale of my south american possessions

Ah yes, ozeania is not going to do it just yet - he is going to stabilize the continent and increase economy before being able to pay you.

To Imperial Island
From Democratic Rep. of Madagascar

An invasion will be met with the harshest of counterrattacks. We warn you now - it will cost millions of lives to subdue our country.

to the DMR:
True. which is why we hope you will see reason and STAND DOWN. we do not wish to do so. we will be more then happy to stand down ourselves at teh same tiem you do so. we will only invade if you continue to present a hostile pose toward our own nation. there are no other targets of agression toward our two nations. if you do not wish to stand down all atonce, we understand, and would sujest we both deconscript our troops by 50%.

I would like to join this prolific looking NES, are there any open nations or should I just start a religious rebellion in one of the more prosperous ones?

who's australia's neighbors? I wanna annoy somebody, who are you in this NES Iggy?

Prolific? On the contrary, there's not much life in this NES. BUt maybe you can change that. Ozeania is open, and I would characterize them as aggressive. There is also the economic potential in Sinhala, the Brazilian countries, the rising Uruguay, the stagnant Spanish, newborn Romania and Yugoslavia and Kazakhstan, and teh rebellious Pacificans to choose from.

If you choose a country, ask me and I can give you a quick background.

Let's try on the Spanish, are you gonna PM or post that info?

to: Floridans
From: USSA
We will withdraw most of the soldiers from south america.

Spain has more or less been neutral in every conflict between Europe and Africa, being both an ally in ACE to the Egyptians, and a partner in the EEC to the Europeans. They usually serve as mediators between the two. Other thent hat, Spanish industry lags behind the rest of western Europe, though it has been making a comeback in recent history, boasting the largest producer of steel. Spain is also the largest European imperial power still left, with a small colony in northern canada used primarily for naval and army bases as well as research and fishing rights, and the very prosperous Argentine colony.

The Argentine colony is somewhat autonomous, making its own foriegn policy only with the approval of the Spanish government. Most of her trade is still conducted through Spain, though a recent agreement has opened up Free Trade, the freest in teh world, between Argentine and Uruguay, boasting of great results for the Argentinians and the Spanish, as well as for Uruguay. Argentine has always been happy with Spanish rule.

Uhmm, other then that I guess I could say that Spain has been drifting more towards Europe in the recent years, but still retains a good amount of ties towards the ACE, both politically and economically.

I'm Scandinavia, and pathetic.

Good god, I thnk i've just killed myoptimism. i cna barelliy type now. agdh!

deeeeead agh!!!

Egypt kinda has this one wrapped up. I'd like to try something else.
