stJNESX: From Bad to Good

To Persia and Gurajat
From Akkadia

I propose the following peace terms. Indus Valley is to remain Persian and the borders are to be moved back to the pre-war borders. Residents of the Indus Valley who wish to go to Gurjat can do so in the 100 years after the end of the war. Futhermore the Indus Valley is to be demilitarised for 10 game turns and a non- aggression pact to be signed for that same time to be renewed when it expires.

OOC: alex - deal. I bet that we win.

Listen, we understand that the only reason that your people came to be in the Indus Valley which is under Persian rule is that you came there first, lost a war, and had to surrender that province in the peace treaty. Correct?

Thus, you have FAILED to protect that land and thus lost it and all the LEGITIMATE claims towards it.

A compromise? Perhaps this - You pay one economy level to Persia for damaging its iternal commerce, and give up all claims on the Indus Valley. All the people who want to live in Gujarat will be allowed to move there within ten years after the peace is signed.

To the Sacren Empire

In return for the land we took from you includding your former capital we will wish for the following. 1/ Sacren heklp in forming a Revialist Alliance between all Revialist Nations. 2/ Demilitarisation of the area to be returned to you for five game turns.

We look forward to returning to our previously good relations squandered by our forfathers 500 years ago.

Remove yourself and your Gurjatian people from all of the Persian Empire including the Indus Valley. Futhermore give Perisa all of the lands you occupym west of the formewr border of the Indus Valley.

You are saying essentially to give up what we have while not getting anything in return except a flood of refugees. That we cannot accept with honor.

What do we gain? Nothing. We feel there should be some compensation to the people of Gujarat, not just demands of "withdraw from Persia and we'll let your people back to your place". The problem with that being that they already are within the soverign territory of Gujarat as claimed by this dynasty.

That was a former dynasty's mistake, made under crisis circumstances.

Your suggestion makes the most sens of those we have read so far, but it cannot be accepted.

To: Persia, Akkadia, Canaan

We propse this peace treaty:

1) The Province of the Indus region is to remain Persian, however, it shall be ruled as an autonomus province, its laws will be made separately from the rest of Persia (though it will still be subject to Persian laws, the Persian laws will be given priority), so that the special circumstances of the region can have laws that conform to it.

2) No missionaries from any nation are to be allowed in it, other than this, it should have a relatively open border with Gujarat so that people can move freely to and from Gujarat just as they can from Persia.

3) No Gujarati troops are to be allowed in the Indus Province and we give up all claims to the Province.

4) No reparations are to be exchanged, as all sides involved have suffered enough from this war.

5) No vengeance operations are to be undertaken on any Gujarati nationals in the area, and they are to be left with their old positions of power.

6) Gujarat and Persia Sign a Non Agression Pact lasting 1000 years (10 turns) which will be renewed at that time.

If you doubt your ability to win the war without weakening yourself too much (meaning becoming vulnerable to other powers), then we would recommend agreeing to Gujarat's latest proposal. If you, however, believe that this war will not weaken you irrepairably, then know that we will not abandon our allies.

Cyprus

The ships returned to Paphos one after the other. The generals had deceided that after the defeat of the last Minoan warriors on Crete the the soldiers were no longer needed. Some lords stayed with their armies several years, while other rushed home as fast as possible. The King stayed in Knossos for five years until he sailed home with his men. As they reached the great Harbor of Paphos the entire population of the city awaited them on the docks. They had prepared a celebration which lasted one entire week and the King enjoyed it. Now that the war was finaly over, Cyprus could concentrate on a new task.

Orders:

-start trading with Takirland
-continue wonder
-try to develope a new ship type
-do not allow any missionaries or priests to enter Cyprus
-grow army (*)

It is up to you about this latest proposal, but know this. IF we were in your postion we would cut the envoy's head off and send it back to the Gurjatian King as my response.

We will not let them have autonomy but we will let them have freedom of regilion and allow them to keep their culture. But if they rebel again then we will destory them all.

Do you agree to the open border besides missionaries? EDIT: And NAP?

To Gujarat
From Persia

We argee to a NAP but a open border with the rest of Persia.

To: Persia
From: Gujarat

We were referring to an open border with Gujarat, ie. our nationals could leave the region and go to Gujarat as they please and ship stuff out as they please. It could be one way, so that you could make sure we weren't sneaking anything into your nation like spies or propaganda.

To Gujart
From Persia

Nope our border will remain closed.

To: Persia
From: Gujarat

So in other words you are proposing everything stay the same. Then we must have the guarantee of free passage of Gujarati nationals out of the territory for 100 years, that their positions and status will not be disrupted and their property not seized, and that we retain the small portion of the northern territory indicated below.

Surely these are small concessions to make in the name of peace.

From: Canaan
To: Persia

I suggest that you accept their original proposal, or do not negotiate peace at all. I also suggest that you make the final decision already, as my generals need to know whether or not should they march to war.

From Persia

We allow not cede any land. WE will offer an open border within reason with Gujarat and a NAP.

To Cannan
From Persia

If they do not accept this proposal then we will fight on.

So we withdraw from your land, and you will let our people have freedom of regilion and allow them to keep their culture and current possesions, you will offer an open border within reason with Gujarat and a NAP? Agreed.
