stJNESX: From Bad to Good

Jason, please update! And remember - if this dies, then Madagascar gets a major nuclear reactor malfunction. :nuke:

Akkadian Story

Emperor Suliemann II viewed the great city of Akkad from the balcony of his Palace in its middle. Here in the centre of Akkad, he was in the centre of his empire, an empire that strenches from the Red Sea to the Caspian. Indeed Akkadia was growing under the dynasty of his forefathers, However with greater empire came greater problems.

Trade was drying up forgoing the superior Akkadian road system due to Cannite trade reforms, the nation of the Sacrens was growing in strenght and looking huingrily towards the fertile plains of Akkadia, and the populace living off those plains was growing at a rate to cause degredation of lifestyle.

There was only one solution to these problems. To seek more territory from overseas, and thus the army and the navy would have to grow in power and numbers. Soon Akkadia would truly be the centre of the world, in power, cultre and geography, as sure as Akkad was the centre of the empire, as sure as the sun revolved around the Earth and the Earth was flat!

Update 10: 1100bce

The Egyptian religion, New Rivival, is declared the national religion in Akkadia, where the people are already mostly followers of it. Meanwhile, expansion into Canaan is halted when the state religion was declared to be Baalism. Already nearly a quarter of all Canaanites are New Revivalists, and the number is growing quickly. A couple of clashes between the two faiths happen in Jericho, where the army was called in to keep the peace.

Meanwhile, in Canaan the mining city of Van springs up around the iron ore mine that is exclusively for the King. This town, high in the mountains, is almost as populated as Jericho itself, also serving as a nice midpoint between numerous trade routes. From this, the economy takes a hike (+1 economy). Large forts are also constructed on the border with the Nuion, creating an aura of fear for the surrounding villagers.

Two, heavily guarded and planned cities, spring up on the Gujarat side of the Indus Valley.

Three Takir explorers make their way across Europe and the Mediterranean, bringing much knowledge of the outside world back to the Takirans.

Out of the ruins of the Massilia nation is the Kingdom of Sardinia and Corsica, who still own a big portion of the Mediterranean trading industry.

The Akkadian Federation is soon dominated by one man, Sheep2, who, with his power, takes control of the federation, proclaiming himself the emperor of Akkadia.

China surrenders to Koguryo, handing over all the coastal land in the Empire to the Koguryans in exchange for trade. This infuriates the nobles of the land, but, because of the lack of money now available in China, they do not rebel. The economy plummets into depression as trade with the seas is cut off, and most of the best land China had was taken away. Talks of assassinating the emperor are rumored throughout the cities. Meanwhile, a trial is held for all the nobles who allegedly participated in the assassination of the last emperor. None were found guilty.

Another raid is conducted against Minoa from Cyprus, but this time the Minoans fight back. As soon as the Cypriots land, they must fight for every gold piece they steal. While still successful, the raid was not nearly as successful as the one before it. The Cypriots were unable to make it Knossos before their supplies ran out and they had to return.

Casualties:
Minoa – 150 Archers
Cyprus – 100 Clubmen

The first fully constructed inter-city road in Takir is completed, linking the two conquered provinces, Massilia and Rome. Between the two port cities, trade had already existed heavily, but now with a land route the small villages in between bustle with trade. One city, Milan, triples in population.

Gaul is invaded on four fronts. In the north, the Angles and the Takirans invade. However, something goes wrong in the Takiran communication, and the army stops to repair what is wrong. However, in the south and middle the Takiran armies fight well and push the Gaul border guards back. Casualties are light this first round of initial battles.

Casualties:
Gaul – 200 Swordsmen
Takir – 150 Legions
Angles – 100 Legions

Macedon is fully engulfed by the Bulgar army.

The nation of Hunland is created out of the now-civilized tribes of the Hun.

Spotlight

“Faith is like the Nile, nothing can ever stop it.” – High Egyptian Priest, Tatuk.

The Egyptian faith, which began as a mindless worship of materialistic gods such as Horus and Anubis, has grown and evolved over the past centuries into a religion focused around one God, Ra. This god, while once the god of the sun and lead god over all others, is actually the only recognized god, who takes the shape of the other gods to do their duties. He is most commonly depicted as Isis, a female god, at the top of the Nile. The main principals of New Revival are loyalty to Ra, and loyalty to ones family. Three prayers and daily attendance to the local temple is required, and a pilgrimage to the Nile is required once in a lifetime, to achieve entrance into heaven. Worship guidance is down by the local priest of the temple, who is one part of a complicated hierarchy that ultimately ends with the High Priest, who resides in the holy city of Karnak, Egypt. He is regarded as the only holy man alive, and him and his sons are regarded as living gods.

Faith is the driving force behind the religion. The enormous feeling one has when he has the New Revivalist faith seems almost…orgasmic. Faith is counted on to do everything in a New Revivalist’s life.

New Revival is practiced by ninety-eight percent of all Nile people, meaning Ku****es, Nubians, and Egyptians. Most, if not all, Carthaginians are New Revivalists, and just recently the religion has taken root in the Middle East, the most populated land in the world. Already Akkadia, which is the most populated nation in the world, has been fully engulfed/blessed by it. However, the other Middle East power, Canaan, has fully rejected it, despite the amount of practicers already in the country.

I have a VERY small question, wat happened to the revolts in Shu within the former Shang lands?

OOC: Van is somewhere inland in the former Hittite lands.

Do I have contact with Taikir now?

IC:

Avulon sat in the Sapphire Room when Gatoris entered it. He was dressed in white robes of New Revivalists, as he should be.

"Greetings, Gatoris."

"Greetings, Avulon."

"How was your research?" - asked Avulon, allowing Gatoris to sit down.

"It went well. It seems that the New Revivalism evolved from the Egyptian pagan beliefs. It does accept the fact that all gods are one god, but they seem to think that only their gods are the One God. Religion fills all parts of life, with praying three times a day." - he flinched at that - "It lowers the people's productivity, and as is known, praying in temples is useless."

"For all that is needed is belief and virtue in all times." - Avulon quoted the Scripture of Baal, the first written document in Canaan, where all the ideas of Baalism were contained.

"Your heavenlyness, I advise you that before Sidon has to renew the oath of not attacking with Egypt, we strike at it instead and crush this outrage."

"No. Egypt is a nation, its religion would continue without it. We need to fight their religion, and we must fight not for land but for the hearts of our people. Besides, if we attack Egypt, then the New Revivalists would rebel. No. We must strenghthen our religion at home... and abroad."

"Like the Egyptians?"

"Yes, only we have more chances to suceed as we do not deny the existance of ANY gods. Very well, you may go now, my son."

Diplo:

From: Canaan
To: all our neighbors

Convert to the religion of Baalism, for you do not have to renounce your gods, for all gods are One God, and gods are many for they are one! Baalism is the best religion for all the mankind!

From: Canaan
To: Cyprus

The above goes for you as well, ally. Speaking of alliances, allies must help each other. Allow me to explain:

*secret, just in case Amen is still in Crete*

I propose the following treaty - we shall send our forces to assist your forces in your current war, in exchange for this, when Canaan goes to war with another nation, then Cyprus shall send troops to help us in that war just as well. We also suggest that you stop raiding and start one final offensive - with our troops, you could allow it.

*secret, blah blah blah*

Orders:
- Continue wonder (2/6).
- Raise 500 more swordsmen.
- Raise 10 more galleys.
- Continue stockpiling iron in Van. I believe there should be a stat for stockpiling, no?
- Somewhere in our part of Mesopatamia, build a city of Haisha (doesn't really exist). Encourage agriculture around it. 100 swordsmen are to build a road to connect it with Sidon, from where the grain could be exported to Cyprus or to Greece (for example).
- Send some of our priests to be missionaries of Baalism in foreign lands, including Egypt. In pagan lands, this should have much popularity as if the Egyptian religion is spreading so quickly, then a religion that does not deny the existance of their gods will spread even quicker.
- Build temples in all cities, towns and villages. The priests are to spread Baalism amongst the people, trying to convert Revivalists and Pagans to our religion. Appeal to the Revivalists that the God does not require prayers, and also appeal to their Canaanite nature, so that they will remember that their parents worshipped Canaanite gods while the New Revivalism says they do not exist at all, while Baalism accepts all gods (and that includes Ra and the Egyptian pantheon). Appeal to the Pagans that they do not have to renounce their gods - gods are many, and all gods are One God.
- The entire Val Tara will keep order between the two religions now. It will, ofcourse, keep order in the favor of Baalism...
- If tossi agrees, then our new 15-galley fleet and as many soldiers from the number of 400 swordsmen, 400 archers and 400 spearmen (remember that the amount of all must be equal no matter how many could we take) as possible are to sail to Cyprus. Technically, they are still ours, but their commander is to obey the orders of the king of Cyprus as he would my own - as long as it does not harm Canaan's interests, which I doubt it will. Anyway, they will follow Cypriote orders until I recall them.

It's Takir and yes we supose to have contact. I should also have full contact with Egypt and Akkadia by what I asked in the the discovery trip.

To Cannan
From Akkadia

We do not fight your relgion like you do ours. New Revialism is not against Baalism.

Imperial Government in Akkadia

The Greater Empire of Akkadia's government is complex beyond its simplitic face. Styled as Akkadian Despotism it consists of multi-level governance. In this look of the government we shall study the current situation of the Empire.

At the top of the entire structure is the Emperor. The current Emperor, Sulieman III is currently giving huige reforms to the Imerial structure srengthning the Akkaidan state. His reforms include the systemisation of the New Revialist relgion to the uses of the Empire. New Revialism in Akkadia differs so much to the Egyptain form that many question if it is the same relgion at all.

The Emperor also gives direct commands to the armed forces. Many believes this militarism caused the Assyrian War as the then King Sheep II attacked Assyria after the annexation of Baylonia. However the benefits as seen as Akkadian forces are the strongest in the region.

Advising the Emperor is the Imperial Senate. The Senate is resposnsible for the day to day running of the Empire through the beuracracy, although the Emperor can veto the Senate over any issue. The Seante is elected by all male citizens aged over 25 years of age.

Although their is still no colonial empire of Akkadia, Suliemann III has also set up a system for colonial adminisration. Regents, selceted from the Royal Family rule an economy taking their orders from the Emperor. A colony in its own right is a dominionic state with and independent throne. However the Emperor of Akkadia controls it all. Colonial Seantes too are surbordinate to the Imperial Senate.

The townships then also have a mayor elected by townsfolk at the same time as the Imperial Senate elections. They see to the day to day running of the township and are responsible for many of its needs. The citizens are men of all ages that are born in Akkadia. Women are not citizens in the meaning of the world, and Slaves are not citizens as they are chattel property.

Below is the 10 Points of thje Akkadian branch of New Revialism.

1. Thou must obey the Emperor and his agents throughout life.
2. Thou must be willing to die for Akkadia
3. Thou must attend prayers three times a day.
4. Thou must have no more than 2 wives.
5. Thou must not commit crimes.
6. Thou must follow the teachings of the Temples.
7. Thous shall give all service to the Emperor whenever needed.
8. Thous shall have offsprings
9. Thou shall never surrender to an enemy of Akkadia
10. Thou shall make Akkadia greater still.

Akkadian Secret Orders

Grow economy by building farms to support the gorwing population.
Continue wonder
Have the relgion warped into the new Akkadian brand, call it Akkadian Rivial.
Enact the new consituon.

Have the army minus 200 swrodmen who is to keep order in Assyria, invade the Sacren Empire.

Have the Chairoteers on the ships of the Navy and have them land in the south and race towards the capital, to capture it before its defences are truly ready.

The Sacrens should be destroyed pretty quickly as they have little troops.

From: Cyprus
To: Canaan

We agree to your gracious offer. However we don´t want to convert to Baalism. Here in Cyprus we have many gods and we would rather like to worship them, since they have always helped us when we needed them.
