StKNES2: Rags to Riches, Tribes to Empires

Instead of trying to draw it all with marker or something, draw with the pencil the border of the country, and then fill it all in with the filler tool.
I was just about to say the same! It's easier, faster to make, and it looks better.

Aww comeon guys...Let's give him a break,he's not modded for so long...He's just brushing the rust off his map making skills.

I'm not angry or anything, just giving some advice.

Anyways, story when I get home, I already have it written down on paper, and I'm soing orders now because I do not want to forget like last time.

ORDERS
Increase Economy by digging irrigation canals for my farmers.
Continue to expand along the coast to the north.

The people continued to settle iceland and everybody was happy. One day the people started to become full-time fishers. This grew the economy.

Orders:
-Use 10 Canoes and 500 men to expand along the coast
-grow economy by... fishing?

Kamilian: I ordered the growth of the army by 200, but it only says 600 total.
If I make "border contact" with assyria in the next update can I order trade in this update?

To: Assyria
From: Babylon
How about some trade? This would bring great wealth to our nations! We also suggest a 10 turn NAP that could be expanded into an alliance later on. What do you think?

orders Babylon:
-continue wonder
-upgrade economy: start farming along the 2 rivers
-send more settlers down the river towards RL gulf and river upwards along both rivers towards the mediteranean. Settlers totally protected by 300 men
-start trade with assyria

story later

There were signs of change all around Cyrus and his small kingdom. From the east, west, and north there were reports his scouts had found signs of more civilizations.

It was apparent that, unlike they had thought for centuries, they werent alone in the massive world.

OOC: A small story, but im planning a bigger one. Need to find pictures for it.

OOC2: You placed me a little north of Persopolis, you placed me at Tehran. But its ok, Ill just adjust some stuff.

Orders
- expand south with 100 men
- expand west with 100 men
- expand east with 100 men

- increase economy by starting farming, mining around Tehran
- continue wonder, Mausolleum of Tehran (x2)

1. You can only grow by 100 troops. That's why you lost one economy, not two - it wasn't a mistake. It's just the way the grow army thing is.
2. Yes.

@tossi: sorry. fixed

@ Jason: yeah but my mouse is f*cked up so its a bit hard for me to do it good w/ the pencil. It does sound simpler, and if you magnify, when I do it w/ the brush, I always miss the tiniest spots.

Emeperor Volum of the Sicilians was proud of what his small gang had managed in such a small time. The entire Island (almost it looks like) was under his control. However, the could see land on the other side. Knowing that being stuck on this island, would in the end result in overpopulation, the only way would be to colonize the mainland. Noone knew how long this mainland was, but the wise men said that it had to be many times farther away then the eye could se. So he would send some of his best men, in small boats.
On Sicily there would now even be constructed roads to ease travel, and to make trade easier, thus increasing the economy.
And in the Great city of Palermo, a academey would be build, a great naval academy, that would train the best naval commanders in the world. And all though there wasnt really much to do on a canno? this would greatly reduce the danger of sinking and increase the range, with trained commanders having the control.
Emperor Volum could no longer wait for the colonization, so tomorrow the first boats would set of, with course for the main land.

Orders:
Expand on the rest of the island (if there are any place left)
Send 100 men over to Italy.
Build roads all over Sicily, to increase economy.
Start wonder: The naval academy?, will train officersm who will get the command of boats, wich will greatly reduce the chances of my boats sinking, and will increase the safe range.

Nope!

Now beginning update for real - CFC was down like a minute after I posted the post before Norseone's orders.

Prussia attacked by Bavarians - War breaks out
An unprepared Prussia is attacked by the Bavarian troops. The surprised Prussian troops are slaughtered in sporadic attacks (-100 Army) and they lose considerable territory to Bavaria. In the Prussian capital of Berlin, refugees flood into the city and begin forming resistance organizations. However these groups are poorly armed and will probably lose to the experienced Bavarian troops. A few wealthy Prussians left their wealth behind for the Bavarians to plunder, and these riches were brought back to Munich (+1 Economy).

First known trade route occurs in Middle East!
The first trade route in the history of the world itself opens up in the Middle East between Assyria and Babylon. It seems that relations between the two are getting even better as NAP agreement is made.
Meanwhile, Babylon expands more towards the Gulf and the leading tribes in the Tigris-Euphrates Valley agree to join the Babylonian domain. This brings Babylon to meet Sassanid Persia, right across the Tigris River.
Also, Assyria has had more luck in terms of tribe relations. During its expansion, several military tribes join under the Assyrian banner, allowing a boost in the army ranks (+1 Army).

Pakistan overruns the Indus River region and reaches the Indian Ocean by forced subjugation of locals
Pakistan has used its military might or intimidation to reach the Indian Ocean as tribes along the Indus River fall.

The first irrigation occurs in nations around the world

New Contact
Sassanid Persia + Babylon.

OK. Let's get something straight here. You can currently only increase Army by 1 (by 100 men). NO INCREASES BY 3! NO INCREASES BY 4! GHOST9, I increased yours by 1. In the future as technology and all that stuff progresses, the max Army-increase number will rise over time. But right now, you can only increase Army by 100 troops. Remember that next time cuz then you might get me confused when adjusting the Economy level for it - and if you try to increase by more than 100 and I DO end up subtracting more Economy than it's supposed to be, do not come crying to me. I will simply refer you back to this post and say "I told you so". Just a heads-up. Usually I notice mistakes fast but sometimes one or two things might not catch my eye, so don't risk it.
AnarchyRulz did not send orders again so I guess he wasn't serious about being in this or just didn't feel like it anymore... I don't know. Prussia is now NPC.
You may now ask for UUs.

Bronze Age UU:
Turkic Rider- Highly skilled bronze-armored horsemen, wielding bronze curved swords, bronze spears, and reflex bows. Fast, maneuveravle, skilled at small-unit combat and raiding, and powerful on the offense. However, due to short-range weapons mounted fighting position, they are very weak on the defense.

ok, time for story! YAAAAYYYY!!!

Babylon was growing. The Empire now stretched for many miles and included many citizens. Recently there had been alot of rumours going on about a place downriver where there was water as long as you could see. Maxurabi was definitely interested in the possibilities that such a place would have and ordered settlers and soldiers to check it out. Perhaps behind all that water there would be a nation interested in trade, or perhaps that even could be conquered?

Meanwhile contact had been established with 2 other empires allready. The people of Babylon began to understand that they were not alone in the world. Maxurabi saw the chances of wealth and had allready started trade with Assyria. Now was the time for more trade!

How about some trade between our nations. If you want, how about a NAP for 5 turns too?

To: Assyria
From: Babylon
We thank you for this mutual trade agreement we signed together. Why not increase this to a full alliance? We suggest a MPP.

orders Babylon:
-increase economy by fishing and farming along the rivers
-continue wonder(turn 3, how many turns will it take Kamilian?)
-send settlers downriver to the Gulf along with the canoes and 100 soldiers
-send settlers northwards up to the sea(name?) along with 200 soldiers
-start trade with Persia
EDIT: UU - Babylon Guard - soldiers armed with bows and swords/spears and shield. These are the best trained soldiers in the Babylonian army and excel with bows and close combat weapons!
