WORLD NEWS UPDATE 7 - MAY 1902
Ural War
As Norwegian and Swedish soldiers leave the front, the Mongols continue to mount a successful trench warfare campaign, and the front becomes stationary for probably the first time in the whole course of the war. Whatever small advances the Russian and Polish troops make are compensated by relentless ambushes by Mongol troops, civilian resistance, and the TNL.
In the far Siberian north, small Mongolian contingents regain some land, but are unable to reconquer as much as they were aspiring to because of the battles with the European troops still in Siberia.
The Chinese Army has been almost completely annihilated as the enemy forces flood into Western China.
Volunteers join the Russian Army to achieve the Russian "Manifest Destiny" as proclaimed by the government, which is a drive to expand Russia's borders to reach the Far East itself, at the expense of Mongolia.

Mongolian Economy continues making rebounds
The new industrial resurgence in Mongolia is continuing to make the Mongolian economy bound forward. This has motivated some Mongolians to join the Army to defend the homeland.
Tatar Nationalist Republic declared at Abakan!
The TNL has seceded from the Mongolian Empire! At Abakan, within non-occupied Mongolian territory, the leaders of the anti-Russian, anti-monarchist nationalist movement have declared the Tatar Nationalist Republic, with the goal of reuniting all Tatars under a "true Tatar" government. The new Nationalist Republic has taken a good chunk of Mongolia and has declared intentions to take over Mongolia, the Urals, and the Volga region, and unite them together under its banner, overthrowing the Mongol Khans along the way.
Provisional Government of Central Asia schedules elections
Elections for the People's Assembly have been scheduled for January of 1903. Parties have already formed, most of them rooted from the rebel movement that freed the Turkic provinces from Mongolian rule.
The competing parties are, in order of popularity from most to least popular:
Central Asian People's Revolutionary Party (CAPRP)- communist party friendly to Russia
Pan-Turkic Nationalist Party (PTNP) - nationalist party calling for the ethnic integration of the 3 ethnicities into one single ethnicity; anti-Russian
Central Asian People's Radical Communist Party (CAPRCP) - anti-Russian minority faction from the CAPRP
Kyrgyz Democratic Party - based in Kyrgyzstan, they want a Presidential Democracy; neutral in regards to Russia

The elections to the Kazakh Constituent Assembly have been held fairly, and the results have come in.
Statistics/results are:
97% of the eligible voters (including women) have voted.
179/200 - Kazakh Socialist Party
21/200 - Kazakh Democratic Party
It is clear that Kazakhstan will have a Socialist government.
Manchurian People's Republic formed
Communists have declared the Manchurian People's Republic in Jilin, imprisoning or forcing into exile the aristocrats. A small army is already formed.
China splits!
After millenia of unity, the formidable Chinese Republic has split. With the popular support already drained by the disastrous war, the Chinese government has practically fallen apart. The CSP (Socialists) walked out of the Parliament session and formally withdrawn from the government, taking along with them the pacifist factions of the National, Federalist, and Republican Parties. Citizens of Chengdu, in support of the CSP and its pacifist allies, have taken over the rail stations, post offices, and armories of the capital. The city policemen themselves joined the mass protest and have surrounded the Parliament building, locking the remaining parliamentarians and the Premier inside.
Meanwhile, CSP leaders, on the other side of the country, in Jinan, have proclaimed the Chinese Socialist Republic and have declared the Parliamentary government in Chengdu defunct. This new communist regime has already drawn borders, which so far reflect, for the most part, the old arrangement between the Mandarin and Yangtze Provinces, since people in the countryside of the Yangtze part of China, while wanting peace, have not been ensnared into supporting communists yet.
Battle lines have been drawn for a civil war between Democratic and Communist China, though if the Chengdu government falls at the hand of its own citizens, the civil war will be a short and decisive one, with the Jinan government emerging victorious.
Great American War ends
The Treaty of Boston has ended the Great American War, with the Iroquois losing considerable amounts of land and having to pay reparations.
Treaty of Madagascar ends the Zulu War
Central European War begins!
The Central European War, seemingly having been averted in the signing of the NAP, has broken out with multiple invasions!
The armies of the Triple Reich have invaded into West Prussia, Switzerland, and Bohemia. On the onslaughts into the Prussian part of the [newly-named] German Empire, the invasions were not as successful as they were projected to be: the Prussians have been doing training and making preparations for war ever since the signing of the NAP! Their defenses were extremely well-coordinated, and the people of region showed complete resistance against the Austrian onslaught and so only a few small strips of land along the borders were taken. Losses were considerable especialyl for the Austrians who did not expect to meet this kind of trained resistance. The invasion into Alsace-Lorraine - the "corridor" connecting Switzerland and West Prussia - was a bit more successful, and the Austrians managed to connect to Belgium. However, civilian resistance is beginning to take a toll on the Austrian occupation forces.
The Austrians also invaded Bohemia with a force of about 1,700,000. The Bohemian border defenses were able to hold off some of the invasion but there were several breakthroughs into Bohemia, and these breakthroughs were more concentrated and thus carved out "bulges" of land. However, these troops that made it into Bohemia are facing popular resistance.
In the south, the Italians have invaded Switzerland, but found the German defenses to be quite effective as well, although not nearly as effective as those on the Prusso-Austrian border had been. The Italian forces have headed for Tyrol and occupied that province, to the welcome of its Italian residents. However, Tyrol was the easy part: how easy or hard will it be to face non-Italian Switzerland?
Back northwest, in Belgium, USEA forces have unloaded and marched through Belgium, to assist the Austrians. However, as the Asiatic soldiers gingerly passed Belgian villages, towns, and Brussels itself, they threatened the people to surrender or face the wrath of the USEA! Cities that did not surrender were completely leveled by the USEA, "motivating" the others to comply with the USEA demands. The coastal areas of Belgium are all but under control of the USEA contingents who are unleashing reigns of terror to weed out potential "troublemakers" in cities that had to be taken by force while allowing relative freedom and flexibilty in areas that went peacefully. Meanwhile, the Austrian contingents in Belgium were ambushed by their USEA "allies" and completely slaughtered just near the border with Germany!
Italian ships off the coast of Gibraltar have also been blasted to bits by the USEA Navy, and 100,000 troops have landed at Gibraltar City and have taken the city and its surrounding region.
The USEA Army and Navy, having seen combat in the Zulu War just recently, and with their superior training, are extremely effective in every arena.
The Norwegian-Swedish Ambassadors to Triple Reich and Italy have presented the rulers of each with the following message:
The Empire of Norway-Sweden hereby declares war on your nation.
Norwegian-Swedish ships also have captured Bermuda after overwhelming the Navy and the local Army.

Riots in Bavaria!
Riots have broken out throughout Bavaria in protest of the invasion of Germany! Leaders of the riots have been seen waving copies of the Prussian-made Germanic Manifesto.
Few people elsewhere in the Triple Reich register for conscription, and many flee into Romania, Russia, Poland, or even defect to the Germans.
Sabotage attempt foiled!
A saboteur was foiled by Italian police. The saboteur was caught trying to rewire the Proto-Fighters to make them crash into the Rome Airport to destroy it. The woman was tough to crack but finally caved after days of sleep and food deprivation. She said her name was Mata Hari, and her residence was soon found in the Swedish quarter of Rome. Documents were found tracing her back to Stockholm as a foreign intelligence agent - in other words, a spy. Following her execution, the Italian police has restricted movement of Swedes all throughout Italy to only within their respective neighborhoods. The government has yet to decide whether to continue restrictions or not.
