StKNES5: A New Lease on NES

EDITED

(Why the hell did I say "Libya" when I was supposed to say "Israel"... )

From Byzantine
To Israel:
Wanna start a trade route with us?

To Byzantines
From Israel

The Knesset and King of the Kingdom of Israel are greatly pleased that the great and glorious Byzantine empire would aproach us with such an offer. The wise King Somlomon kindly accepts your offer on behalf of the people of his small but proud nation. L'Chaim! L'Shalom! L'Yisroel! L'Byzantium! To Life! To Peace! To Israel! To Byzantium!

Edit: His majesty must postpone creation of this trade route, even the wise king has made a mistake by not realizing he had not the economy to undertake the creation of a trade route. The Knesset has decided that the trade route will be constructed on the next turn when enough economy is available.

To: The Roman Empire, Portugalia, France, Georgia, and the brown country on the Adriatic whose name I do not know
From: Israel

The wise King Solomon approaches these great and glorious nations with a proposal. King Solomon and the Knesset propose trade routes be oppened up connecting the grand empires to whom I speak to Israel. It is our hope that these trade routes will allow all of our countries to flourish in the prosperity of trade. L'Chaim! L'Shalom! L'Yisroel! To Life! To Peace! To Israel!

Edit- The King and the Knesset are sad to report that they must withdraw the offers made as even the wise King Solomon had not realized that so much economy was required to construct the grand trade network his majesty had envisioned. As such, the Knesset has ruled that the offers must be withdrawn indefinately.

Kamilian- I really think that you should lower the cost of building a trade route to 1. With an economy like mine, an invader from the south requireing investment in the military, and the need to constantly invest in my economy if I don't want to loose it all, I simply can't even afford to build 1 trade route. In other words, I seriously think that 2 economy is too much to build a trade route.

Israelite9191: At first I kept on thinking it was tommy_toon posting about the trade route, not you and was wondering why he's complaining when he's got like 4 trade routes already. hehe
OK, back to the point... it might not state clearly in the rules (I'll check now and if it doesn't, I will correct it momentarily), but you spend 2 economy POINTS not LEVELS to start 1 trade route. For instance, all you have to do is use this turn to invest in increasing economy and you're already at the next level, which allows you to spend 4 economy points without dropping. So next turn, you can start a trade with Byzantium or whoever, and STILL have 2 points to use on anything else you want to invest on, including Army, Navy, Education, UU, or another trade route with someone else. :)
Any more questions. :D

tommy_toon: It's dropped down to 2%.

Haha, I'm very happy with my trade routes and have no intention of complaining about them . . . yet. And thanks for clearing the increases up.

Rules have been clarified. The new additions are highlighted in dark green.

Lurker's comment:
L'Chaim! L'Shalom! L'Yisroel! L'Byzantium!

Isn't that supposed to be "Le Haim! Le Shalom! Le Yisrael! Le Byzantium!"?

*returns to lurkerhood, ponders joining one day*

* 3 eco pt into army, thats 1314 troops (.02 * 21900 = 438)
* expand east into Burma/Bangladesh
*continue project

Kamilian- Thankyou, and change unit production to Unique Units. That would be 296. (1,480/10=148 148X2=296)

Das- The word "to" in Hebrew is a prefix, not a word, and thus the correct spelling would by the letter "L" followed by an apostraphy.

Kamilian- There is something in the post about that if you increase more than your economy, your economy dosen't increase. What does that mean, because if it is what I think it means, than I won't get my army!

From Eire
To France and Belgium

We propose a triple alliance between our great nations. To agree to this would mean to aid each other in war and defends our homelands side by side. We believe this will benefit all parties by allowing us to relax our mutual borders and focus on other areas.

From Eire
To Crimea

We would like to establish a trade route with your grand nation.

Israelite9191: Regarding your first question about increasing economy or whatever, what do you mean? Which part says that?
And you don't currently have contact with Yemen or Persia.

From Crimea
To Eire:
Sorry. We can't spare the finances at the moment. We've got barbarians to deal with and need to increase military and defenses.

From Belgium and France
To Eire:
A triple alliance would be splendid.

From France, Georgia, Dalmatia, and Rome (individually)
To Israel:
Even if you can't afford trade routes at the moment, how about NAPs?

Say, think I could join as the Malaysians?

Welcome, Lord_Iggy

Meanwhile, deadline is tomorrow, I remind you, and I only have 2 out of 9 orders! And 1 of these orders is from Israelite9191, who just joined!
I remind that I will not push back deadline for procrastinators, and if I have to take out the wrath of God on 6 players (Lord Iggy just joined a day before deadline, so if he doesn't get orders in by then, I won't punish him cuz he just got in) then so be it. Don't come crying to me later about it.
