Update – 1200 AD
The Seljuk rebellions continue and intensify in magnitude, despite the Tatar army trying to crush the rebels. The rebels have received a major boost now, as the armies of the Zoroastrian Pact – Greater Armenia, Persia, and Afghanistan – have invaded the rebelling parts, not to help the Tatars crush the revolution but to restore the Seljuk Empire, as an ally and buffer against Kuril’taria. The reasons for the reversal of these nations’ policies towards Kuril’taria have been issues felt by their leaders. Afghanistan has tired of its position as a tributary state; in Persia, the Muslims have also been demanding action against the Seljuk Empire, especially after the council of caliphs in Mecca declared a universal holy war upon Kuril’taria until Seljuk Turk independence is restored, and the Zoroastrian Sassanids would face overthrow and reversion to their Babylon-based Muslim cousins if they didn’t agree; for Greater Armenia, the Turk population and nobles agitated for action against the Tatars and convinced the rest of the legislative leaders that if the Tatars are not stopped, they will eventually consume Greater Armenia as well.
Thus, though the common reason shared is indeed the desire to curb Tatar power in the region, these are the other contributing factors.
The populace of Astrakhan revolted as the Armenian army approached from the sea, and in no time the Seljuk family was again at the throne of the second Seljuk Empire, for now only encompassing areas held by the Zoroastrian Pact armies, but due to expand into the rest of Kuril’taria’s Turk territory.
With the above-mentioned holy war against Kuril’taria, Muslim volunteers from Iraq, Israel, and the Umayyad Empire are also heading north to help the restoration of the Seljuk Empire.

Meanwhile, north of that battleground, the Khanate of Saratov has crumbled, unable to cope with the size of the cavalry having been thrown at them from the east. As in Astrakhan earlier, in Saratov the ruling family has been executed and their heads posted on pikes in front of their estate.

In central Europe, where peace is the norm now, three countries have united into one – the first such fusion since the Triple Empire of Rome, Byzantium, and Croatia. This time, it’s the German monarchies that have joined together – Saxony, Austria, and Switzerland – into the single united German Empire, under the leadership of the Saxon crown. The integration is being achieved with success and acceptance by most of the population, though in Austria a few of the Jews are on guard again, fearing repression under the Catholic government. The capital has been moved to the town of Berlin, which is being built up as a new project into a cultural center of Germany.
An initial triumph of Germany is its learning of Medieval Age knowledge and technology.
West of the new Germany, however, troubles are beginning to stir. A series of burnings of Catholic churches across Eirian-controlled France and Iberia is causing the Catholic populations to become increasingly restless, after years of the intrusion of the Eirian Christian Church and its domination of affairs in the Catholic provinces have caused numerous tensions between the Eirians and Catholics. These troubles have not, however, sparked into any violence until now, however, and this sudden outbreak may be the result of just that tension building up, revolving around the “competition for the souls” of France and Iberia. Only a handful of the locals have converted to Eirian Christianity since Eire first took these areas. But, again, with the strong culture emanating from Eire-proper, the sense of religious competition is just as strong. With these attacks on their houses of worship, the Iberian and French Catholic leaders say that their people no longer feel safe under the otherwise-terrific rule of London. (-2 Confidence levels)
The Moroccan and Aghlabid armies have attacked Umayyad Egypt, but the Umayyads were well-prepared for this invasion and repelled it with a moderate struggle, thrusting back into Luxor and annexing the Aghlabid vassal completely.

After this engagement, the council of imams in Mecca has decided that it’s time to end the fighting between the two families. The proposed Treaty of Mecca is as follows:
–The main disputed area being Egypt, the different states should all be joined together into a single Egyptian Sultanate, according to the borders in the map below
–Umayyad Egypt, as well as Atbara, Marsah, former Luxor, and the western provinces of Marsah and Luxor annexed earlier by the Aghlabid Empire, are to be united into the said Egyptian Kingdom
–The Egyptian Kingdom will be neutral between the Aghlabids and Umayyads. Both families are forbidden from seeking positions of power within it
–The Egyptian Kingdom will be put under the protection of the Mecca council of imams and the Caliph, once he is chosen by the council of imams
–All hostilities between Aghlabid and allied forces and those of the Umayyads and their allies stop
–This treaty is a formal edict by the Mecca council of imams and if rejected by either family, that family will be cast as a heretic to Islam, regardless of Sunni or Shiite sect
The Aghlabids and Umayyads both thus readily agreed to the treaty. Also because they were starting to tire from the wars in Egypt and their armies would soon probably have to be sent to prop up the Seljuk Empire in the east, so they couldn’t waste their energies fighting. Of course, not all agreed with the treaty, despite its last term about the out-casting as heretics if not agreed. (-1 Confidence level in Umayyad and Aghlabid Empires)
The Egyptian Kingdom will be created in 50 years (next turn), while the Aghlabid and Umayyad armies and governments leave the designated territory.
The Israelites have chosen the Judah family as the new monarchs ruling their country. The Judah king, Joseph I, has opened relations with the Republic of Ophir, thus confirming the separation of the two states.
Malaysian occupation is continuing to face the resistance of the Australian population. In the cities, especially, Malaysian governors come to administer the new addition to their empire wind up dead within days of their arrival. The Maori populations are demanding immediate independence as well, and it is rumored that at least some of the Australian ruling families have fled there.
MALAYSIA: -3,700 Infantry, -800 Cavalry, -3 Catapults
Revolts have begun in Malaysia itself as well, and many Balists are now supporting the overthrow of the government and withdrawal from Australia, the Maori islands, and Tasmania. Portions of the army also are supportive of the overthrow – mainly the portions that remain at home, however, not the ones that are off in Australia, though dissent may spread soon as well.

The Illini have learned of the new Renaissance Age technology.
Toltec ships have embarked on a voyage eastward, to see if there is some land beyond the Caribbean Confederation. They colonized already an island, called by them Bermuda, as a base for even easier supply route.

again, poor update but I got it here, eh? I now seem to spend most of my story energy on Kuril’taria nowadays. Next time I think I’ll start by doing bit by bit of each region and then add on later, to make it more balanced.
I am going to use jalapeno_dude’s proposed tariff rule. Thanks, Lord_Iggy.
Orders are due next WEDNESDAY at NOON, US CENTRAL TIME. I will then be reviewing the orders of countries that have council/legislature governments (listed under Governments section of rules post) and send replies about what the councils agree and disagree to. After that, the deadline for orders is SATURDAY at NOON, US CENTRAL TIME.
