To Ruthenia and Lithuania
From The Eastern Aristocratic Republic
For centuries we have done nothing but bicker and fight among ourselves. Despite the fact of how close our people are by blood, for some reason we can do nothing to improve relations among our peoples.
Ruthenia has the strongest military of us all, and yet it is also the most heavily damaged portion of our area. Just recently gaining their freedom from the Tartar invasions, they have decided to give their crown to the old Russian Czar. While we believe this to be a mistake, we have said nothing about it. We have one question to ask the nobles who placed him in power: why put your life in the hands of others? Why bow down on one knee to a man who is no better than you?
Lithuania, on the other hand, had been spared the devastation of the Tartars and remained relatively intact. But, unlike Ruthenia, they have yet to elect a permanent leader and have been so since the revolution of old. While the largest of us three, they are also under the most scrutiny and , possibly danger. If a war breaks out between Lithuania and Scandinavia, Scandinavia with her allies would most likely win.
Apart we are weaker than just about all other kingdoms in Europe. But, together we would prove a real challenge to any invading army. We wish to stand arms in arms with our brothers, not spend our times bickering about little issues. So we must ask every noble in the lands: why submit to another? What makes these so called kings better than you, more worthy of leading a nation? We say nothing makes a king more important, other than the big head that sits on his shoulders. So, we propose a new union. A union among brothers and equals. A new union to take us all into a new age.
The treaty of Moscow, as proposed by Eastern diplomats.
1.) The unionization of Lithuania, Ruthenia, and The Eastern Aristocratic Republic into a single Eastern state.
2.) The merging of the Ruthenian. Lithuanian, and Eastern armies into one single force, led by an elected general.
3.) The division of all lands into provinces, which will be ruled by a single noble. That noble in turn, would meet with the others in the capital to determine a noble to represent them to the world.
4.) The extension of all rights held by Eastern nobles to every noble in the new lands.
5.) The creation of a new capital, Volgograd, in the middle of the country.
6.) The destruction of all tariffs and other trade barriers among our lands.
7.) The division of the Imperial Senate into two houses, one higher and one lower. The higher shall be made up of every noble in the land, while the lower would be met up by two men appointed by every noble.
8.) A new constitution to be drafted by the higher house at its first meeting.
We hope you will all accept these terms. We hope to continue moving forward, not get caught on issues in the past.
