"This is a task for mighty Russia! A task for the peoples of the Slavic world!" the king yelled, his beard seemed to muffle his words, but the mighty voice in which he threw in the air could still be heard all across Moscow. The people abruplty erupted into applaus, thankful to have such a king as Ivan.

Ascending from the stone rock inwhich looked over most of the city, Ivan grasped his head. It seemed as if it were to explode, he thought, as he applied pressure to the temples of his head. A guard saw his anguish and promptly began to rush towards the burly king, but stopped as Ivan gestured with his hand to stay back. Ivan began to cough violently, shaking every bone in his body from his toe to the top of his skull. Bending over now, blood sprayed out his mouth and colored the soft white blanket that lay across the Russian ground. WIth his last ounce of strength, he spoke "For Russia...." and fell forward into the bed of snow, never to wake again.

This was a great legend in Russia, one that will forever be in the minds of the slavs. The King now, Ivan V knew what his forefather had went through in providing to first Russian expansion, and, he thought, shall do the same. Gearing up for war, he began to chant an old rhyme that he thought would bring him good luck. Tomorrow the Russian army will march upon the northern barbarians, and he shall lead the way.

ORDERS
-Increase army twice (can we do that in this NES? If not, just once).
-With two hundred men, march north, intent on reaching the Baltic.
-Fifty men expand, less costly, to the south. Try to make contact with the Ukrainings. Expand cautously.
-Continue the wonder.

OOC: Who has contact with whom? And what are the Sumer stats?

IC:

Story:

The army was growing, now almost as big as the Babylonian one. On the other side of Babylon, there was Sumeria, united at last, and it too had a large army. Shamshiadad did not want to leave the ancient and rebuilding city of Ashur, but he knew he had to. He had led all of his warriors to the border of Babylon.

Diplo:

From: Assyria
To: Sumeria

We agree. Are you ready now?

IF HE SAYS YES

Your people are poor and starving. We can save them. Surrender Babylon and southeastern part of your territory to Sumeria, and the rest to Assyria. If you disagree, we will have to save your people from you as well. Whether you like it or not.

- Grow economy
- Have all 300 men prepare on the border of Babylonia, expand towards it along the way.

King Virjay was furious. The northern barbarians would die, and Calicut would rise to glory...
The sounds of the streets were quiet, though the faint marching of the drilling infantry was
apparent. So, too, the temple to Vishnu, a glorious monument that was need more now. The god
of protection needed to be on their side. And so the army of Calicut set out, a mighty phalanx of
bronze spearmen, a few archers, all grim, and determined to slaughter those cannibals to the
north. And they began to chant,

“For the glory of the Emperor! For the glory of the Empire! For Calicut!!!”

Orders:
**SECRET**

Increase Army.

Continue Wonder.

Send 150 men to attack each tribe. No prisoners are to be taken, and this is to be widely
publicized as an example of Calicut’s might. Show them what it means to kill an envoy. Show
them that when they lash out at us, none are safe.

Orders:
Calm the people by useing one economny to increase the army
continue invasion of gaul.

UPDATE TOMORROW!!!

Oh suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure! What about diplo?

Phoenicia. It was the nation which was the talk of the land. Located to the south, this mysterious civilization would seem to have the chance to invade the territory marked out for Hatti in the Minoa-Hittite Land Agreement. Now, this agreement hadn't meant much to the Hittites until Phoenicia appeared -- mostly because it would be a great deal of time before it mattered.

But not it mattered, and old Mursilis VIII was cursing every moment of it. Why did he, so close to his deathbed [and his son's succession to power], have to deal with this possible dispute? Lacking strength to come up with a good plan [OOC: In other words, I have no idea how to continue this story], he ordered a number of soldiers to expand as far southeast [within the Minoa-Hittite Land Agreement] as possible.

- - - - -
Orders:

1) Send 100 men to expand southeast as much as possible.

2) Expand with 25 men north to the sea.

3) Establish a coastal city on the...coast.

[/b]High seas piracy my ass...[/b]

"Those damed pirate scum- they will soon knwo the wrath of the Minoan empire!" Thought the Aged King Minos

It was true that piracy had been a great concern for the Minoans- but woth the great expansion fo the fleet- and the colonzation fo the the great hotbeds for pirate activity overseas, Piracy was being "drowned' in the waves- at least in Minoan waters...

the battle had been long and hard- a real navy was a rather new thing, and the Minoans were slowwlly becomeing the masters of the art of naval warfare... for no other known power in the world has a real flee tof ships answearble only to thier antion fro the purpos eof war- even the pirate ships were usually just converted cargo ships witha good number fo marines on them, and they had been offereing good practice for the Minoan navy thus far, becoming skilled and excellent in thier ship work for the workers of dock construction, makeing ships sturdy and strong, the commander bacame masterful of the waves, and inspireing commander- and the marines (also the rowers on minoan warships)/ they wer eperhaps the most impressive, bravelly chraging onto an enymy ship of plunder, and killing or capturing the micreeants- and gaing a tidy sum of money for themselves, thier commander, and the royal treasury in the process...

but th epirate shad a seemingilly endless areas of nooks and crannies in the castlin- and in no place was this more apperent then in the mainland of the greek penninsula... it was decided that a new and might citadel must be founded, to act as the bedrock of Minoan expansion into the region- beginnig with the claiming of the peloponessus, with the founding of Mycenae, the lion city- it was to be a city to oneday rival even tyroy, and Knossos for splendor, as the Minoans first true colony on the mainland of the land that spawned them for the most part, Europa...

but there were still other matters ot attend to...

recentlly, anothe rpeople had begun arrving over the sea- not beant on plunder, nor colonzation, but as refugees fleeing the land of bull-calves, Italos- they were tyrrhenians- known in other alnds as Etruscans- why they fled thiere homland it was not known- but they were weclomed into the Minoan empires as brothers- to such an extent that the commander to be incharge of founding Mycenae- Atreus, was of mixed stock between Minoan, and Tyrrhenian- though the distinctioj was of little importance really...

Oh man, I was pissed off cause my friends left too early to see Never Die Alone, but turns out that movie sucked, so then Leo's brother came along too and so did I for Starsky and Hutch came along and man that movie kicked ass, I'm all good moodish right now. But then I'll have to quarell with that one bastard in stJNES5...

So excpect an update for sure, but not until a little later.

Update 5 - 2600 B.C.

Great celebrations are held in China. With the recent expansion in all directions, China has finally reached the shores of a great river. To celebrate this the citizens throw grand races of reed boats. However in the distance, trouble might be brewing as several barbarian tribes around the Chinese pick up Chinese civilization and form their own nations. They speak the Chinese langauge and copy their customs, but their rulers are firecly independent.

To the Northeast, the great city state of Liaotung. To the west, the state of Wuwei surrounding the city of the same name. To the South the state of Shu, and to the Southeast the state of Wu, also are centered around cities bearing their name.

In Japan, the Japanese continue to expand on their home island. The Southern half is completely under their dominion, but the Northern half has yet to be subjuguated. Further expansion with the navy has established contact with the strange cultures seen earlier. They are all Japanese, but obey different emperors or shoguns. On the tiny island just South of Honshu are rebels and ronin, various weak warlords that fight amongst themselves and live in general anarchy. Farther South however, is the powerful Satsuma Shogunate, which thrives around it's capital of Kagostama. Fare to the North, is the state of Hokkaido, which is centered around Hokkaido city in the center of it.

In Russia, the King leads a series of great expansions. To the North, the Baltic sea is seen but not reached. This is due to the presence of the Balts, various powerful tribes that live in the area fishing and hunting. They have slowed down the Russian advance a bit, as small raiding parties from near by villages often steal from their camps. To the South in Russia, expansion has made contact with the Ukranians, whose kings have finally awoken from their ancient slumber.

The Babylonians had been preparing for an Assyrian attack for quite some time. For a Sumerian one they were not quite ready for. The Sumerian armies smash through Babylonian lines with minnimal casualties. They seem on pace to reach the capital of Babylon itself. Farther North the Assyrians aren't having quite as much luck. They have advanced, but only after heavy resistance from Babylon's front lines. Even then, it has been reported that about 50 men have left Babylon and are on pace to reach the Assyrian capital of Nineveh.

Casualties: 100 Assyrian, 50 Sumerian, 200 Babylonian

In Rome, the wheels of the latin economy continue to roll. The Romans are back on track after a brief depression, and are prospering. Consequently, several tribes of Etruscans have decided to join the empire, as well as some minor Celtic groups nearby.

In Minoa, the education is increased. Young students busily etch the recently developed Minoan alphabet (the first in the world, developed by a Phoenician merchant) in academies, watched over by elderly tutors making sure that they are learning right. Already, the Minoans have learned the secret of horseback riding, and can equip their men with horses if they wish. Better yet, the education increase has yet to pay full dividends. Some say that a great advancement is just around the corner for Minoa. Meanwhile, politically, the colony of Mycenae is established, and more people flock to this new colony than any of the previous ones. The whole territory is full of settlers and is named Helles. Already, the small settlements of Argos and Tiryns are built right next to it.

To the Indian subcontinent. The barbarian tribes around Calicut continue to grow and grow, but the nearest ones are quickly dealt with. A large battle occurs with the Northern barbarians that the Calicutians win easily. From there, the Calicutan general ruthlessly kill all barbarians regardless of who they are. News travels quick and soon many emissaries from the other barbarian nations are knocking on Calicut's doorstep. Two of the barbarians, the Sinahalans and Surparakans give a combined tribute of one economy level.

Casualties: 50 Calicutans, 980 Barbarians

With an increased economy, the Crusaders of the Cross wisely increase their army. Dozens flock to the ranks of their lord to defend their nation. As a result, slowly but surely, the Gauls are pushed out of the Crusader's proper lands and even farther back into their own territories.

Casualties: 25 Crusaders, 100 Gauls

The Hittites expand Southeast as far as they can. The army is tired but finally, contact is made with the Phoenicians whose peasentry act friendly to the newcomers. The troops await further directions while facing their Phoenician counterparts, a small border garrisson. Back North in Hatti proper, a city is established in the Northern coastal province of Hittite Trebizond.

Civilization continues to spread, predominantly in the Middle East. To the South of Minoan Cyrennica, the Libyans establish an early state centered around their city of Marsa. Petra is no longer the only Arabic city state, Bakkah picks up the concept of city dwelling as well. And farther South along the Nile, the Nubians construct a kingdom around the city of Napata. In Europe, goverment organization develops, but hardly to the point of advanced civilization. Instead, the Europeans bond together into various barbaric tribes. Among these, the Dacians, Illyrians, Celts, and Iberians.

Diplomacy

none

Trade

Still none...

OOC: Yeah.... ****, I'm sure I forgot something.
