stSBNES3: A Place in the Shade

Everybody, check out Stormy's Map on the First Page, 4th Post concerning the ideologies of the world. It truly is very, very cool.

Heh, i like how where I live is a little Liberal haven.

I don't get it. Wasn't Germany supposed to be communist?

Excellent, then.

I suggest an alliance. We all follow the same values, all believe in law, order and divine rule. Yes, we were Ottoman enemies for religious and ethnic reasons, but in the previous war, Turk and Russian fought alongside each other. Why not recreate that alliance? And why not have the Spaniard join the Holy Triumvirate as well?

I suggest to you the formation of Grand Imperial Alliance (GIA).

Grand proposal, and we accept! Long live the GIA!

France
To the United Kingdom

While we would like trade we cannot afford the full brunt of the economy needed. If you are willing to lend us the necessary capital I am sure we can come to some arrangement.

To Swiss Confederacy
From France

We see no need for our borders to not have trade. We shall accept, however our capital is not as it should be will you help us with this. I am sure our great nations in brotherhood can work out a deal together.

To Netherlands
From France

Will you accept a Mutual Defensive Pact to safegaurd our mutual intrests.

To Germany and Austria-Hungary
From France

We respect your government and hope you shall do the same. We hope that you will both sign a NAP that will last 10 years.

OOC: I would still like to know as to what the hell is happening in Germany. I understand that there is a communist government there, correct?

Another question is - what

IC:

From: Russian Empire
To: Ottoman Empire

Excellent. Now if we can also get Span to join...

I believe that we should meet regularily in Constantinople (read: you should create an alliance thread) to discuss the matters concerning our alliance and our coexistance.

I also believe that one of the main goals of our alliance should be to fight the forces of Communism. Godless anarchists and nihilists with no respect for the order of things must not be allowed to threaten world order.

(OOC: and in case you're wondering, yes, Stolypin "the Hanger" is the one really in charge)

Overview of French Politics

Legislature Branch is comprised with the National Congress and the National Senate. The Congress is elected by the people in universal sufferage of all French citizens aged over 18 years of age. There is 555 seats in the National Congress. The Senate is elected by the people as well however there is 4 seats for every province and 2 seats for every major municpal area. There is currently 150 seats in the Senate.

The Judicial Branch is made up of the courts system. Judges to the High Court of France are elected by the Congress and must pass approval of the Senate and the President. There is always 7 High Court judges.

Major Political Parties of France

Liberal Democrat Party of France With heavy support in the mainly rural areas of France as well as throughout the Riveria, this part proposes the extenstion of the capitalist system of economics as well as the continue support of democracy worldwide.

Social Democratic Party This party has a huge following in the major cities of France. It espouses worker rights and supports the growth of democracy throughout the world. It is also has a coalition agreement with the French Worker's League.

French Worker's League This party is a smaller following the the previous two. However it is laregly liberalised and wishes for the extenstion of worker rights. It doesnt care either way about democracy worlwide as long as it stays here in France.

Nationalist Party of France This party seeks the growth of the French military. It has some support most of it coming from areas that would benefit from the expanding military they propose.

Royalist Party of France Conservative party that seeks to re-estabilish the throne. Althought they dont go as far as to say they wish to see the end of democracy, the feel a King and not a President should lead the French people into the future.

United Communist Front The UCF is made up of two groups. The Marxist wing of the UCF is the largest garnering much of it support from the environs of Vichy. They espouse Marxist principles. The Anarchist wing is largely from the northern suburbs of Paris and espouse Anarchist policies. The future for this party is considered too unstable to make it an effective voice in French politics.

Action Franschise This party espouses fascist policies and seeks to right the wrongs against the French of the last century. They wish to see a leader placed in charge of the French people that is strong enough to re-establish their ulitmate goal. The French Empire of Napoleon.

Elections will be held in the near future.

To Russia and Ottoman Empire
From France

Let it be known that any moves against the other nations of Europe will invite a hostile reaction from the French people. Having said this if our intentions are peaceful we wish for good relations and thus propose a short term NAP of 3 years to test the waters between our nations.

To: Russia
From: Ottoman Empire

Yes, but how should this meeting be arranged? (see: Ive never made an alliance thread, what exactly do you want in it?)

From: Russian Empire
To: France

What makes you think that you can dictate to us our foreign policy? You even have a... legal communist party, of all things, and think that you can order the guardians of order around?

And what is your definition of "any moves against the other nations of Europe", just for the reference?

From: Russian Empire
To: Ottoman Empire

Well... [insert a lengthy explanation here] (read: an alliance thread consists of, usually, a member list, the alliance charter and (sometimes) a list of issues on which the members vote, dealing with the alliance policies. It is used as a place for discussion of alliance policies and related issues. Only the alliance members are allowed to post.).

To Russia
From France

Our wish is that we do not see war occur again. Our governments are diffrent, we know this. The chances of an alliance is slim, however we can still work together to keep the fragile peace that has emerged from the Great War we have just had.

From: Russian Empire
To: France

Yes, ofcourse. We do not have any interest in having to fight France yet again.

To Russia
From France

In this case we propose a five year NAP to see what happens, when we are at peace. This however will be null and void if either of us attack any other nation.

Peoples Liberation Movement Strike In Berlin!
The Peoples Liberation Movement have declared responsibility for an attack upon the German Central Bank in Berlin. The communist group stormed the bank early in the morning as it was opening. They are estimated to have stolen around $250,000, money which will almost certainly go towards funding their guerilla war against the Government. Since the Russo-British war in 1905, law and order in Germany has been crumbling. The Kaiser has been unable to justify his position and the continuing uncertainty in world politics has left Germany in a state of almost anarchy. Opposition to the Kaiser can be found all over the country: several small communist groupings have assumed control of areas in the South and East of the country without any opposition, in the West the Kaiser faces Liberal groups wanting the formation of a parliament and the introduction of democracy in Germany. These are truly troubled times for our once great nation and it shall take a man with the kind of leadership skills as the great Bismarck had to restore Germany to her former glory.

The Split In Germany:
Several groups are vying for power in Germany as the Kaiser continues to lose his grip:
  • The Peoples Liberation Movement (PLM) - The militant wing of the German Communist Party. They have been conducting a number of bank raids and attacking military and police installations throughout South-East Germany. The Communist Party has wide-scale support from many working-class Germans and is a key player in German politics.
  • The German Socialist Party - A liberal, socialist movement seeking a peaceful transfer of power. They want the formation of a democracy in Germany and have huge support in the North of the country.
  • The Conservative Party - They seek to allow more power to organizations and businesses in Germany. Mainly a large pressure group consisting of many powerful industrialists and political leaders in Germany. They would prefer the inept Kaiser was removed for a more profitable form of government.
  • Military Generals - Several military Generals are said to be extremely disaffected with the Kaiser's leadership and want to rebuild Germany's former glory. They seek the introduction of a military dictatorship and the absorbtion of Poland and Austria into a greater German Reich. Although they lack wide-scale support among German troops who tend to be more Communist leaning.

To: France
From: Swiss Confederacy

The Swiss Confederacy is more than willing to help the French government...monetarily. However, we need your word it will not be used to undermine stability or civil rights, or that it will be seized by government and used to build giant boat-palaces. (see: Empress Dowager) In short, we need to send a member of the Ministry of Finance to oversee its use. Oh yes, before I forget, in return for giving you economic capital, the French government promises to help the Swiss in an undetermined time in the future in an as-of-yet undetermined way. Fair?

I want to join as Poland (typical, eh?)... but I'm scared of that update system that stormbringer's having here... how does it work? When do we send orders?
and I love your map with the ideologies. Very cool

Ok, there is one major update every year, and if you are fighting NPCs, etc. you send in military orders and I do them. Like I said, fighting Luxemburg as France does not take the whole year, so I will post that by April the French armies overran Luxemburg, and then you can give more military orders. If you are fighting another player I wait for orders from both of you.

The Swiss Confederacy welcomes Poland and extends its offer for a trade agreement. [Note to self: insert some sappy diplomatic stuff here.] *ahem*

We would gladly agree to trade, but we are currently worried by the situation with Germany, as we fear they may be trying to mount an invasion of our lands.

To Germany:
Let's end the useless fighting and enter negotiations for a peace, for defined borders, and non-aggression. (OOC: PLEASE?)
