stSbNESIII - 1815 Turning the Clock Back

OOC; fine, get me all confused!

OOC: You two got me confused earlier...

Tp: Denmark
From: Sweden

We are willing to negotiate the terms of this crop-trading that Holstein seems to want so much, and we won't even overcharge you like Naples would!

My minister of finance had quite a chuckle when he heard of your comments. As he explains it to me, it is the law of supply and demand. The higher the demand, the less the supply, hence the higher the price. It is an irrefutable law of capitalism. Perhaps your economists should be educated in this matter?
Regardless of what others may think, our foodcrops pulled many countries out of dire straits.

With humbleness and grace,
Queen Marie Caroline
The Kingdom of Two Sicilies

Why does Poland still have a capital. I said, Finland-status!

Ha. Ha. Ha. There is also another part of this, and it's called international relations. Be nice to people, and they'll be nice to you. I give, you give. Sweden has every intention of keeping Denmark and the greater German people as friends, and charging too much for food will not make it so. We, too, have read The Wealth of Nations, but there is only so far you can take this...

If we were mean and rotten as you accuse us of being, we wouldn't have imported food to the starving nations. We offered, they accepted. Nothing was forcedly done.

I'll do orders in 6 1/2 hours. After school. Maybe. If I'm not out.

(Yes, I have a social life, amazing that. I even have a girlfriend. I'm proud of that. Very proud.)

We are interested in your new "railroad" technology. Perhaps you would be interested in trading it?

Well, our technology is still in the early stages, our current locomotieves are not so reliable or efficient yet that they can be used for anything except coal transports. But do not worry, at our current pace we shall be able to produce cost efficient locomotives in a short while.

OOC kind of ironic, locomotives that run on coal are only good for transporting coal

We're not suggesting you're mean and rotten, just that your food is overpriced. A monopoly doesn't have to force someone to do something, the forcing is done by their own hunger and citizens. All that Sweden offers is a lower price for our goods.

OOC: yea, well the fact that coal is very cheap and acessible, especially for the coal producers, made the early locomotives only suitable for coal transports :crazyeye:
