SuBI1 - Masters of the high seas

Which would be.......er........you!

The worker is currently building a road on that square and will be ready to mine in either one or two turns, if I remember correctly.

Oh, and our slightly improved view of the world...

Nice. We need a whale of a lot of workers to clear those stinking bogs to the North of us.

Report and save due soon I takes it? Lovely to sea (ha ha) our first naval vessel, er, limping along.

Looks like the blackened area turned out to be coastal anyways. That is good for us. Now we don't have to share. I'm not going to write the *official* SuBI version of the story for this turn. Instead, I will lump this turn into the next story, as not alot

Sorry. Ignore last post. You posted report whilst I was writing previous note.

Nice work.

Our Korean Curraghs really tear through those waves, don't they? :D

Hopefully beyond those bogs are at least 2 or 3 luxuries. The people demand little furry creatures to pin to their skins!

I would imagine that on an island, even by ourselves, would be at least one luxury. Maybe even ivory. :D

The Garrison SpikeIt fell into a rather lengthy hibernation while sitting on the throne, and this worried the King.

"Who shall supervise Korea!?" cried the King.

"I shall, My King" one of his generals rose, and he was shoguntaka.

"Very well, make your commands!"

IT Writing is due in 4 turns. Also, I wanted to wait for Seoul to hit size 4 before constructing a settler, so I switched it to warrior. Seoul will still grow in 2 turns and build a warrior in 2 turns as well. I found a better place for Wonson to settle on. It's a plain that was hidden in the fog.

1 The settler moved east. I also switched the production at Pyongyong to worker. We need to mine those grasslands fast as possible.

2 We discovered the Writing. Finally, the Great King can spell correctly. I then told the scholars that if they can figure out how to write, they should be able to figure out how to draw the map. So I ordered them researchign map-making at 80%, and we'll get it in 31 turns.

3 Seoul build a warrior, and now working on Settler. It'll be ready in 4 turns. Settled Wonson on that plain, welcome our 3rd city!

4 Nothing

5 Nothing, warrior exploring.

6 Still exploring, we found a wheat by a river. Seoul: settler -> settler

7 At last, a settler clothed in red robe was spotted by our curragh, it was the Byzantines.

They have the wheel and warrior code, but lack our pottery & writing. But I refused to trade the writing with the Byzantines, we want to be the first one to construct Lighthouse. Our warrior found a village just by the wheat.

8 The Byzantines build a new city called Niceae.
Our brave warrior investiaged that village, to my surprise, the villagers heartily welcomed our presence and shared their Warrior code secret!

9 Nothing. Settler is moving toward that banana tile.

10 Settled our 4th city, Pusan, just right by the banana, and it has two bonus grasslands as well.

The Korean Empire

The dot map.

The red one has a wheat and river,
the white one is full of marshes, but it has two games and its right on the river. It's a good site for a future city. The yellow one is just fill-in city between blue and red.

ARGH!

We're sitting on the end of a huuuuuge landmass. Hmmmm, not unlike the Koreans in real life!

I think the tactic should be therefore to rock those settlers up North and grab as much as possible, as the Southern Lands should be free from pinching for a couple of turns yet.

Nice work on the spelling front.

One more thing,
you can't settle on the white spot until you clear the marsh sitting there.

But if you send 3 workers there (in the future),
it'll take them 5 turns for three of them to clear it.

The Story of Wang Kon - Chapter 3 - Someone's in Trouble...
---------------------------------------------------------------

Wang Kon had learned one morning that a garrison, going by the name SpikeIt had briefly taken control of the country. Wang Kon was furious. A soldier controlling the country? He went on a rampage, demanding to know who this soldier was. When he eventually found him, he laid the ultimate punishment upon him for acting as the Imperial Advisor. SpikeIt was sentenced to clear the entire northern swamplands, by himself.

The Story of Wang Kon - Chapter 4 - The Others
--------------------------------------------------------------

News had reached Seoul that the scouting ships Wang Kon had sent northwards had come in contact with a foreign tribe. They called themselves the Byzantines, and were led by a woman named Theodora. Wang Kon was dismayed. The Byzantines also had a knowledge of the sea and its ways. This meant that Wang Kon would have to share his grand treasure, the ocean. The Byzantines would have to be dealt with, eventually...

My thoughts- So it appears we are stuck on a peninsula. Gee Map Generator, nice archipelago  And to make it even worse, to the north is another civ and marshes. This game should be interesting.

Hmmm. I thought I would get to play again, but it could take me many millenium to clear all that marsh...

Gotta love the map. Yuck. No luxes near us, boxed in by swamp and jungle.

Are those some luxes up near Nicaca in the mountains? It may be worthwhile, to try and lay claim to them with a spear and settler combo. We may not get to them before the Byzantines do, but we'll end up exploring our marsh a bit anyways.

Also, are those warriors being built in our new cities? Or are they sailors? More boats are needed!! :D

Oh, be prepared to rapidly settler our south sometime in the next millenium. We can probably hold off a bit, but eventually we may find the Byzantines or some other sea going nation trying to settle on our backside, maybe nabbing some resource rich site from under us.

And its probably worthwhile to trade writing if we can get the wheel and some horse locations out of it. Trying to play tech denial on Monarchy is tough, and with the look of our map, the Byzantines are probably not the only civ up there. If we don't trade it, someone else will. Now, holding back on map making? Well that's a strategy I approve of!

And don't forget, you also have to build the Imperial Palace. :p

Gogf, make sure that you explore north, and see what you can find.
