Suggestion for the Sheaim

Does anyone know the reason Os-Gabella is going from spiritual to industrious? :confused:

Because of this

1. Renamed the Arcane promotion to Potency.
2. The Spiritual trait now grants the Potency promotion to all disciple units.
32. Added the Sundered promotion (all summons start with Stigmata).
33. Added the Sundered Sanctum (Sheaim specific Mage Guild, grants the Sundered promotion to all adepts, idea by KillerClowns).

The Sheiam are getting a bump to their arcane summoned units and so getting a bump to their disciple units may have been a bit too much.
 
Well, I think Nikis-Knight is more right, because the Sundered Sanctum was added after Os-Gabelle's change to industius.
 
That still doesn't explain why Industrious was chosen to replace it, as opposed to some other trait. How would Summoner/Charismatic sound?

I'm starting to think it would be good to get rid of the Sundered Sanctum building and make the summoner trait grant sundered to arcane units.
 
Yes, the Sundered Sanctum was meant to boost Sheaim summoners, but nobody else. To do what you suggest, Magister Cultuum, would give also give Thessa, the Amuriets, Perpentach and Faeryl's units sundered, which would mean the Sheaim have nothing special about it.
Also, it was added yesterday and you already whant to cut it, before it's even bean relisead?
 
What's wrong with completely ignoring the argument. :D I never found it all that convincing to begin with.

It wouldn't boost Thessa, the Amurites, or Perpentach; you are confusing Summoning and Arcane. It would boost the Sheaim Leaders, Hyborem, and Keeyln. It seems appropriate for Hyborem, but I agree it doesn't really fit Keelyn very well.



I don't think the Sheaim will really need such a boost in my modmod. I would go ahead and move the promotion to the summoning trait, but I was planning to remove it. I haven't really thought of a lot to do with Keelyn, so I was actually thinking I'd just remove her.

Quite nice. (Not saying overpowered, perhaps, I don't know.) Industrious isn't bad though, they can get catacomb liberalis up quicker, and/or the great library (now with expanded pedia entry), there's a few other good ones for them like the compass (for Rites or Elegy), prophecy, soul forge, mokka cauldron, infernal grimoire.
Sheaim probably don't benefit from quick forges as much, since smelting + is less useful for them, but they do have a slightly better chance to build wonders or buildings in general, getting no-build units from time to time.
I think Kael chose Industrius because he sees Sheaim as a bit of a builder civ (in FfH, that's relative, of course) or at least late game civ which would be more likely to appreciate wonders. Nothing wrong with charismatic, either, of course, but I don't know if it makes sense on Os-Gabella.

I don't think Killer Clowns was being specific to your modmod, though. And of course, if you remove Keelyn, then there are no summoners that might out shine the Sheaim with the new .33 changes.
 
Hrm.... it could be interesting to tie a bonus to production of Rituals to one of the traits and make it available for Os-Gabella and Einion. Since those two Civs have repeatable Rituals it would be nice to make one of the leaders excel at it to the point where you might actually want to have a few cities cranking it out every 3 or 4 turns.
 
Did this change get pulled just prior to release? I dont see it in the official threads release notes.
