I always found the Sid Meier tech narrations really jarring, so I created a voicepack to replace them with the OG voice actor. Just unzip to \Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Assets\Sounds\Tech and enjoy.

It used the other Civ IV tech quotes to train an AI on Leonard Nimoy's voice, then generated new audio lines for the BTS techs that are voiced by Sid Meier. They're pretty good on their own, and they're a vast improvement in terms of making all of the tech quotes feel seamless. Would you consider adding it, or making it an optional module for this mod?

I don't know how others would feel about it, but I'd personally like it if the diplomatic malus and golden age from getting 2/3 UHV was removed. It's especially frustrating when I'm not even going for UHV like in my Tibet game, and suddenly the entire world dislikes me just because I'm settling all my great prophets in my capital.

I have a few suggestions concerning wonders:

1) When conquering Kremlin civilian units immediately get +1 movement. This allows Workers to do a second workerturn. I think the +1 movement bonus should only apply the next turn.

2) Gardens by the Bay provides a total of up to +10 happiness (3 from Hospital, 2 from Park, 2 from Bath, 2 from Sewer, 1 from Public Transportation) per city. While the Bonus applies only after building the other buildings, I believe those buildings are very useful and thus built frequently anyway. Thus this effect is very strong, IMHO too strong, mostly due to the impact on stability due to happiness. Maybe a flat +2 happiness would be more appropriate?

3) The Eiffel Tower allows for very long continous golden ages (GA), as long as one controls a sufficient number of cities. Due to the bigger Map it is easier to reach a sufficient amount of cities. It is possible to start a GA when the stability is solid and then stability becomes irrelevant. It is this interaction with stability that bothers me. I see two possibilities to resolve this:
-1: nerf the Wonder, maybe by setting the maximal number of GP required for a GA to 4.
-2: reduce the stability impact of a golden age, maybe by replacing the rule that the stability level can not be reduced in a GA by being at one stability level higher than else during the GA.

I know that dynamic names are not our current priority, but Britain as a Vassal of France is such a iconic possibility, that I would love to hear better vassal name suggestions than the one we have now. I mean, Dutchy of Normandy makes no sense. If this is an allusion to the only time in history when French speaking Normans from Dutchy of Normandy successfully conquered England -- England didn't become part of that Dutchy, but rather the other way around.

I think about the names of French client states established by Napoleon, trying to guess how would he call England in the case of successful invasion. Perhaps Dutchy of London (like Dutchy of Warsaw, to hurt the English pride?)

As a historical side note, the entire amount from the sale of Louisiana was spent on preparations for Napoleon's planned invasion of the United Kingdom at the start of the War of the Third Coalition. The United States had partly funded the purchase by means of a loan from Baring Brothers of London, which essentially meant that a British bank was indirectly funding an invasion of the country !

But the invasion failed, so I think it worked out well for everyone except the French.

I would suggest introducing the possibility of disbanding a small city, population 1 or 2 and getting a settler back.

Hi Leoreth, I saw in the last update on GIT that tiles with the savannah or taiga feature can receive the natural reserve improvement. Could this also be implemented for tiles with the marsh feature?

This way, these useless tiles will have some use by generating +1 happiness in the city, in a tile that was previously a "lost" tile. Since it is in the "Civil Rights" tech more in LateGame, I don't think it will have any problems with being unbalanced.

If you think it is too early in the tech tree, you could put it in techs that fit well, such as "Tourism" or "ecology", or even in "aviation" since tiles with marsh are usually quite inaccessible areas in real life, and since aviation tech has few bonuses, it could also fit.

Excellent suggestion! Everglades National Park was authorized 90 years ago, for example, which is certainly still falls into Global Era/Ecology. It would be very satisfying to finally improve Marsh in such a meaningful and realistic way!

Hello!

I have some suggestions, maybe not all will agree: 1) give to +1 food and -1 food for slave plantation in caste system and respublic civics. Now it works only for usual plantation
2) Units could move on desert tile if this tile has improvement (like quarry on salt) (like reinforest with improvement)
