"Babylon has produced an engineer!"

Who cares!

"Babylon has produced a GREAT ENGINEER"

Wow. I better take that into consideration.

Engineers weren't so abandant back then. And this "great prophet" is weird. Let it be just "prophet".

I fail to see it :dunno: There are many engineers but only the one who was great was able to accomplish Eiffel's Tower during his lifetime.

Actually it was the accomplishment of a multitude of workers, as are all the achievements of allegedly great people.

I think we should at least cut the Great part from Prophets as it indeed sounds a bit weird, but I don't care much about the rest.

Leoreth have seen GEM?
It has some interesting features, it's like RFC, but developped in completely different way (mainly there are no UHVs, but I suppose this can be fixed easily).

One feature is "minor civs". You cannot conduct diplomacy until writing. And minor civs are at war with anyone else.

The most importat is the huge map, I would like to see something like that in DoC from anybody, although I know it requires a lot of work. There are plenty resources in this map, but this can be fixed.

Wrong thread.

Do you have any idea how hard it would be to move all the work done on city name maps and stability on tiles, not to mention flip zones and spawns, to a completely different and bigger map? Hard enough that I can guarantee you that Leoreth wouldn't even consider implementing this within the next ten years if the Communist World Revolution broke out and was successful within this week and gave him de facto infinite free time.

You make it seem like prophets are uncommon. They are very common, and they often contribute nothing to civilization. That's why there is a need for Great Prophets.

Not in comparison to Russia and the US.

Please keep in mind those are CURRENT reserves. Do you realize how much Russia spends? Way more than Australia. How much does the US spend? Way more than Australia. That has nothing to do with uranium output or even historical uranium consumption. If you actually read into the article you can also see the article backs me up on this. Furthermore, that only solidifies my argument for uranium in Kazakhstan and Niger. Australia should have one uranium, not two.

 :goodjob:

Well then, what is a prophet anyway? Maybe we are having a misunderstanding here, as I understand the term prophets are by definition great, seeing as they allegedly spread the word of some mighty all powerful being many people are under the impression has a significant influence on their lives directly from the source. Wouldn't prophets who contribute nothing to civilization thus not be prophets at all, and rather just demagogues, liars, brainwashed and/or insane? Are Televangelists or some preachers on the streets prophets or only famous and influential people like Jesus and company, Luther, Buddha, Muhammad etc.? Is every priest a prophet?

Speaking your langauage: If communists sticked to technicallities like "do you know how much work it needs" etc. then USSR would be beyond human imagination and would never become true. The main motivation is what you would like to have, not what you believe you can have.

It requires a lot of time, but we don't know how much time Leoreth (or somebody else) would like to spend.

I suppose the first step would be concentrating everything that differentiates a civ from another one in one file like i.e. Canada.xml. The space attributes should be coordinates and the time attributes in BCE/CE years.

The second step would be using autobalancing mechanisms.
i.e. a research mechanism that adjusts the beakers according to the capabilities (so if for some reason the wealth output of all tiles is doubled, then the beakers cost will double as well). So "what do beakers mean in first place?" you might ask? They would represent the relational value and not the absolute (for example pottery costs half the metal casting).

After that it would be easy to have a map, modify it, modify time and in general modify spacetime of the mod without thinking of debalancing it.

Going even further the fourth step would be real AIs, that will find their own strategies to win the UHVs. All "abnormal" mechanisms (like TD and conquerors) will leave that way.

Okay yeah a communist world revolution does sound more realistic by comparison now.

GEM has been suggested several times and shot down every time. If you want to know the exact reasons, you have to dig it up in the forums.

Have you thought about performance issues? Some already have problems with running the current map in the lategame. Can you imagine what it would be on GEM? (Note that turn times increase exponential with mapsize)

No one is holding you from creating it yourself.

Hey, I'm not saying Leoreth wouldn't consider it in 20 years if the Communist World Revolution was successful within the week.

We can't even vote out an unpopular Conservative government in the UK, I think a global Communist revolution is going to be a long time coming.

Im sure it will break out any day now.

*sits with bated breath and a red flag by the window*

Aaaaaaaaaany second...

Greece is governed by communists right now (at least that's what they say). If they decide to go bankrupt, and if economists are right that it will affect global economy... Just saying.

Cyprus was governed by communists (at least that's what they say) but nothing happened.

Of all my years on this forum writing stories, beta testing and contributing to this mod and sharing strategies, not once have I received higher praise than this.

Thank you, citis.

Don't worry TD, you will never be patched out

Our crappy conservative government isn't even unpopular here, so you really have no right to complain.
