Sunday's PAX talk (with summary of the info)

Ugh. I say lets have a bet Nokmirt! I think the speculation for the Zulu is very flimsy right now. Don't think they will be in. Want to bet a signature or something? Can't wait to see them not make it into an expansion finally.

I'll do it... something fun, I bet the Zulus are in and they have a light green as their primary color (background color)

Personally, I think the Zulu are the even money favorite to be in, I just don't think Wikipedia and a blurry lime green spot are sufficient to determine this.

Sure! Don't have time right now, but we can agree on something to bet later. PM me an idea

So they are putting in two warmongering civs in the expansion? Huns and Zulus? I don't like it. I would think they would make each new civ unique from any other in the expansion.

Austria- city-state civ
Byzantine- religious, probably with another flavor
Carthage- Naval with militant
Celts- religious, probably with another flavor
Ethiopia- militant turtle
Huns- pure warmonger
Mayans- ???
Netherlands- Naval Economic
Mystery civ- ???

I am not opposed to the Zulu being included, and I want another African civ (as you'll see in my continents thread). It may be the Zulu, but I just think a blurry screenshot with a green'ish color on the map and a Wiki article written by some random person are not convincing evidence that it is the Zulu.

Its blurry I am a terrible photoshop man, but you can see the light green. Its the Zulu. I wonder how long before Firaxis realizes TheKingOfBigOz figured them out? For that they should give him a free copy of Gods and Kings! :)

What strikes me as weird is the articles matches the color. Color schemes aren't a big thing, how on earth did he has the same color scheme that matches in the vidoe. That's what makes me think it's the Zulus.

Didn't the same video though give us some city state names from pulling up a diplomacy screen? That'd include the Zulu in the civs list...

It could be the Zulu. I'm just trying to make sure it isn't an old civ and that photo isn't very good.

Was the video taken down?

Watch the demo full screen when he is dicussing founding your own religion, while he is playing as Carthage.

What is a signature bet? You should bet with the person that found out. That was not me. I do know how you feel about the Zulus, but they have been in civ games for a long time now. You know that.

Why that kind of colour would be related to Zulu?

Light green. Where the Zulus light green in civ 4? I don't remember now its been awhile.

I'm pretty sure 90% of the colours from Civ 4 didn't translate into Civ 5.

I think the civ 4 Zulu were yellow.

Wasn't Pacal and the Mayans on the diplomacy list during the demo? Can we compare his colors to those of the mystery unit from before to see if it's indeed the Atlatl or something new?

Ok, so we have to depend on this unknown source from wikipedia. This is better than CSI or something. All I do know is whoever that person was all the colors match the civs we know about. I don't see how the Zulus would be different. I wonder if Firaxis planted that on wikipedia, to see if anyone picked up on the color from the map in the demo? They could have to test how smart we are. I hope you put them in their place. :D

Here it is a bit blurry.

zulu2.jpg

You can see it in the top pick I am not sure how to get photobucket to give me a full screen pic. The light green area in the south of the map. Light green with a black dot indicating a city.

...That's a city state. There's one light green dot and two black spots. It's a light green city state with black borders.

Why you have to steal my thunder D: but I do admit the black dot on next to the green does suggest a CS :(

We'll have to wait and see, nothing wrong with a little bit of fun eh? :mischief:

That's why I asked if it was taken down. I can't get it to work.

Go here and click where it says videos.

The streaming site

The one you want to look at is 5 hrs 40 minutes long or something. The video starts around 1 hour 30 minutes in give or take.

As if green was any guarantee it was Zulus. What is it about the Zulu fans that makes them hallucinate? :D

Spies earn exp which later translates into a GP like for GGen & GAdm. Great Spy were mentioned in an article way back in February but it seems it was overlooked I suppose.
I have never seen any mention of a Great Spy. The ranks from XP mentioned were Recruit, Agent, and Special Agent.
