SysNES 1: A Murky Pool of Light

I should say i don't hate it; i think it was a lot of fun in the beginning. i lost interest along the way and only after i became a non-factor... i think its normal for a losing player to lose interest in their losing faction unless they are a very good and dedicated player of high caliber.

OOC: You wasted hours of my time and then promptly quit?

That random event really sucked Dis and along with a little misinterpretation of my orders... :( (I sent you a PM about the former)

And the food thing is going to kill me.

From the Republic of Ik
To The Vazan Cyberdemarchy

Greetings from the Respendant Republic of Ik. It is good to see that we are not the only survivors of the Great Tumult. The Prime Chancellor Hezbul Rasheed sends his assurance that peace will be had between the Republic of Ik and the Vazan people. Perhaps we can exchange system information.

OOC: And you didn't want to exchange system information with me ken! :(

ooc: I meant home system, you already saw my home system. Its just a formality since technically I don't "know" the system info.

@Dis: If i'm doing the maths right, I will have -3 f next turn. O.O

Spawn more overlords!

Indeed!

Also after thinking about stuff and getting some feedback, here is a redo Habitat calculator (ALL PREVIOUS ONES ARE OBSOLETE!).

Changes:
-Tech chart now built in, put your techs in to see how production changes.
-Volatiles mines nerfed slightly in e production, no longer produce e on worlds without ice or atmosphere.
-Biosphere food production increased, no longer gets bonus from volatiles mine though.
-Additional traits detailing
-Missing Panthalassic metals setting added.
-Some other tweeks
-Avatar irony reduced 78%, awesomeness increased 43%.

OOC: Please answer my PM dis :(

Shoot; cumulative 2 e lost; need to stop complaining. Anyway noticed some very interesting things there; terraforming seems like a very good idea.

EDIT: I can put a version of the Hab calculator up with the metals bit fixed and I've also added a section that you can tick if you want to get the cost of an alpha habitat on a moon or new planet in the system if people want that?

Yes improved returns on Terraforming was an intention, also exploiting Gas Giants will pay off much sooner (especially as there are techs that reduce the cost of building there).

A fixed calculator with distant alpha habitat costs boxes will be up with the next update - no one trust Kal'thzars cheap knock offs ! ;)

@Kraznaya; I'll have a shortened crash course of info ready for you Sunday, along with some carefully redacted examples of peoples early order sets for help (since Kal insists on being so helpful ;)).

@Kraz You can also ask me for advice.

@Dis Putting the cost of distant alphas actually increases the costs of alphas; due to rounding issues.

I've also calculated that building a beta mine on the Gas Giant was going to pay back in about 8 turns; whilst building two betas on Zavi I would pay back in 25 days :/

As a point; isn't it better to build an alpha space hab around a gas giant, because its so much cheaper than the Alpha ON the planet. And for that matter anything where the total initial building cost is more than the spacehab multiplier of 2? (excepting radiation)

Yes? There is a lot of stuff in the calculators. I thought it'd be fun for players to work those kind of emergent combos out on their own...

Was it also your intention to effectively make some planets have to wait till terraforming to colonise? (Like Gemstar III, (1,1,0) (f,m,v) for future use). Cause this is very intresting; Zavi I by extension is also not a nice target for colonisation until terraforming improves it. seems more like a real space game than just slots to be filled.

OOC: Basically, we would like to get Mimkar, Arrakis and Gris ;)

IC:
To: The Republic of Ik
From: The Republic of Lantian

We have in our possession the star maps of Horn, Izar and Wei. We are aware that your government has had the ability to launch probes out for quite sometime and are willing to exchange star maps with you.

From The Republic of Ik
To The Republic of Lantian

We are willing to trade our Mimkar and Gris map for your Horn and Wei map.

ooc: How far can ships jump without having recyclers?
