Take the Global Warming Test

Coming from a family that at least partially studies this in relation to work I can say that the test is
a) done by people who are against any action to stop global warming caused by pollution
b) is designed to make people think that the problem is "normal" and nothing needs to be done.
I qualify this test as bull****.

How do we know for fact that global warming is affected by our actions? How do we know that the world is heating up due to the natural ups and downs?

There are studies being done by worlds best scientists. Please at least google them. If you dont trust scientists I doubt politicians know better about environment.

EDIT: Majour point: the test makers totally missed out on the Ozon layer that is being destroyed. It is crucial to global warming and is certainly due to our actions.

I dont trust anyone, but not all scientists would agree on the causes of global warming. I'm not saying we shouldn't do anything about CO2 emmisions, but i find it hard to believe that 100 years of humans abusing products could've caused massive climactic change.

But would it be causing the massive changes in temperature across the globe? And are we completely certain that there is no other possible cause than humans?

Husky this might be of little help:

http://www.epcc.pref.osaka.jp/apec/eng/earth/ozone_layer_depletion/susumu.html

Azzaman all I can advise is read some respectable reports on the issue.....
Of course there's such a thing as "Temperatures Swings", but our pollution does affect the "normal" rate of change together with doing a lot of damage that can be repaired only in the long run (i.e. Ozon layer).
P.S. No knowledge is certain, but some knowledge is more certain than other.

Anyone who read the disclaimer at teh beginning of the test should have been able to get 10/10. Yes, there are some important facts in there, but not the whole story.

10/10 for me, none of it was particularly tough. Test seemed overly simplistic and trying to lead people to conclude that we're not affecting the environment, and don't need to worry about trying to affect it less. Admittedly 'we've got to do this, it'll help stop global warming' is an equal over simplification.

There's a lot more environmental issues than just an increase in the mean temperature of the earth's surface, and humans definitely do have an effect on a lot of them.

isn't it interesting that whoever is behind geocraft.com hides his/their identity/ies?

Well I technically got 10 out of 10 for it, but only by in at least one case giving the answer I knew they wanted rather then the one I think is most accurate. Most of the questions are leading and some over the more strictly accurate answers seem to be missing completely. Particularly for the question with the graph none of the answers are valid conclusions.

Which question do you think was wrong? Agree that for the graph and others they left off much better answers, but none of their incorrect answers struck me as being better than their preferred ones.

re Urederra's post:

gothmog dismantled his arguments real good in the last big Global Warming thread.

well, the big arse hole in Ozone seems to be a fairlly good indicator that we arnt doing somthing right.
