TCS UI Mods 3

Version 10 posted.

Additional improvements:
  • Added potential improvement section for unimproved tiles
  • Fixed bug where Urban districts were incorrectly shown as Quarters when the second required building was under construction (it's only a Quarter once both buildings are completed)
  • Fiddled with building name spacing/wrapping a bit more to remove rare instances of overlap

Would it be possible for you to consider the following?

1. Have the names of unique quarters appear in tooltips. This would be useful for both gameplay and flavor
2. Have the potential rural improvement of a tile be shown? (Sukritact's plot tooltip does this, it's really helpful for city planning to hover over a tile and see "OK, this is for camps"
#1 is already in there ;)

#2 just got added in Version 10!

1. It already does this, in the place that normally says “quarter” or “urban”
2. I’ll second this!

Edit - ninja’d! Thanks TCS!

Sorry guys, must be going crazy :crazyeye:

Thanks for the update TCS! Great mod!

TCS -- Great mod. One (irritating) item, that I think I found the proximate cause of to see if you can potentially fix.

When High Resolution UI Scaling is turned on -- the font size used for the buildings in a district is "normal".

However, when High Resolution UI scaling is turned off (which I do with a 4k monitor to get a bit better gameplay experience), the font size used for the building name (in this case Guildhall and Museum) in a district is extremely large.

Everything else on the popup is correct.

Not sure if there is something that can fix this -- again, it is an irritating item more than anything else.

See the two screen shots from the same game, only difference is High Resolution UI Scaling setting.

And for what it's worth, on the one with the large font size, the in-game Font Scale does nothing to the building names (it handles everything else in your pop-up as expected)

Whoops, sorry about that. There was an artifact left over from my messing around with the flex boxes that never showed up as I played with High Resolution UI Scaling turned on.

Just uploaded Version 11 as a hotfix for just this issue.

Hello!
I'm loving your mod and I'd like to give back a little with Italian translations; I'm new to Civ modding, so not sure if this is the right place for localization discussion.
Anyway, thanks again for your mod

Nice mod! One question - what is Full plot mean in translation file? Trying to do a translation, but this one puzzled me out.

Small wish - pls add “improved with …” string to understand what I should research in the beginning, like in Sukritact UI mod - that would be awesome.
"Full Tile" refers to buildings which take up both building slots (like the Rail Station).

Hey all,

For some reason the TCS Improved Plot Tooltip mod just won't show up for me in game in the Mod List, even though I extracted it just the same way as other mods that work for me (Sukritact's), and put it in the same location. Anyone else having this issue? Am I just having an issue getting the game to re-check the Mod directory, or is there possibly an issue with the file structure in the most recent release?
If you download the mod, then right click the zip file and select Extract to and have it unzip to the Civ7 mods folder it should work. Depending on how you unzip it there might be an extra folder level that needs to be removed.

Awesome! What version is this for? If V10+ I would be happy to incorporate it into the mod as additional localization.

I think that something in one of the latest versions added a strong performance impact. When I move the mouse around quickly I'm sending the FPS from 60 to 30-35.

Maybe it's related to getting the possible improvement on tiles? Is there any way to download a previous version? I want to confirm by using version 9.

EDIT: So, leaving the game and restarting fixed the mouse lag. I'll see if it appears again in long sessions, maybe it's just an engine thing.

Huh, that's interesting 🤔 I haven't experienced any lag in my game today, and the "Potential Improvement" is the only major change. Please do let me know if it continues due to the mod.

If you'd like to test old versions you should be able to download them from the "History" tab on the resource page.

Yeah, there seems to be a degradation here, after playing for an hour it's going down to the 50s now. I'll check with version 9 to see if it happens =)

I wonder if I preload the constructible icons if that might help...

Maybe, I'm playing with update 9 for more than an hour and I have no slowdown.

It doesn't fully fill like a calculation issue, as it should be constant, but something that accumulates over time. Of course, it might be a fluke on my end if no one else is seeing it.

EDIT: Getting it now, so maybe it's just something on my end. Started getting it lately, so not sure where it's coming from.

Glad to hear this was probably a false alarm!

I have not noticed any issue with lag on my end.
