Teach me and you. Give me a gem.

Wage a spy war on your cottaging opponents...destroy their cottages mercilessly at a low EP cost...build 20 spies, set your espionage slider to 10% and target the points towards your victim...then start dismantling their economy a town at a time.

And contrary to what I've read in other threads spies destroy a town completely. Send two to a spot and take out the road at the same time and watch how long it takes your opponent to recover.

And of course spies are far superior to siege when removing city defenses.

But they don't do collateral damage.

Espionage wars get you to the capitulaiton limit sooner than suicide catapults because they are demerits when counting to 40 pts. Spies plus horse archers = easy first capitulation.

They're quicker than bombarding... but I can't tell you how disappointed I was to discover that "Support City Revolt" doesn't weaken the garrisoned units the way a normal revolt does. :(

But they don't do collateral damage.

Collateral damage is great, but why waste the turn bombarding when you can have the spy in there ahead of time. I start alot of wars with a blitzkreig, especially as I approach the later eras. Spies can play a critical role in this, allowing you to take/destroy cities a turn quicker.

Never trade gunpowder.

Use caste for quick border pops. I never really thought about this till the other day when I was playing and had oracled code of law. Use an artist for a real quick border pop instead of having to wait around for a lib or any other culture thing.

192. When rexing with intent to block the AI, avoid crashing your economy by putting your settler where you want to settle and wait until the last moment to settle him. Put a sentry unit in the direction from which the AI will come to avoid losing the spot by a city put down one or two tiles away.

193. Easy barb city capture. "Cherry pick" barb cities by sending 1-2 units to sit outside the city. Wait for the AI to attack and weaken the defenders. Then take the city if the AI can't finish the job. This is most effective at higher levels when precious hammers can't be spared for a proper barb city rush.

194. “One flew east, one flew west, One Flew Over the ****oo’s Nest

In order to hasten discovering that the earth is spherical, upon learning the Compass technology, build or promote two Scouts into Explorers, and station these in your extreme east & west port cities. As soon you achieve Optics, immediately build Caravels in the aforementioned cities, have your Explorers board their respective vessels, then launch them in opposite directions (send eastern ship toward the east; western ship due west). Sail your respective ships on that vector as far as you can, then unload your Explorers on the shores of the primary “New World” landmass, and have ‘em continue on in the same direction until they (hopefully) reach a common longitude, thereby proving “The earth is round.”

This will provide the first civilization to do so a valuable +1 naval vessel movement bonus.

Godspeed, y'all! :D

Dude, speaking with style doesn't mean trying to talk above your education. Sorry if I'm rude or something, but try to be more natural when you type.

Okay, Monsignor Magal. If you prefer, I’ll selflessly dumb-down my posts, and cater to the lowest common denominator by employing a series of grunts & clicks that even YOU can comprehend...

It's not about dumbing down or anything, it's just that I can only see someone who enjoys using a dictionary, instead of thinking about things when I see posts such as the ones that follow.

Uhmm... so... like... you mean that's not the answer? If not, should we simply adopt 'Slavery' & simply bum-rush whatever improvement's on the docket, in order to, in the words of the illustrious Ebeneezer Scrooge, "...decrease the surplus population", in order to get these recalcitrant malcontents to effectively hush the-f**k up!?!

I think it's not pathetic to use fancy words to formulate sofisticated arguments.

And ... just how long have you harbored this unhealthy infatuation with my posting style?

You flatter me, Sid. Thank you, kind sir.

Sidney Magal: "... sofisticated ..."

It's okay by me that English isn't your native tongue, Brazilian, but maybe, just maybe, you should invest in a dictionary of your own.

Barring that, perhaps you should simply get Hooked On Phonics.

Glad to see you talking like a man normal person now. Besides, everyone makes mistakes, right?

Besides, what is the phonetic difference between ph and f here?

Indeed, Mr. Magal. Everyone makes mistakes. Your first was in vainly attempting to disparage my good name.
