I think the fairest thing for me to say is that I trust M-H and Kylearan to give us a very accurate picture of what is going on. I'd trust the numbers he'd come up with, I'd definately double check them if I ccould, and question the conclusions when necessary. later on we can run the espionage slider so long as we have definate aims in mind, but juist running it at 10% without a reason isn't going to benefit us while we set our selves up for the first trades with alphabet (which will make or break the game if we don;t get a CS slingshot, looking at past games).

I agree. Our commerce will be spent better elsewhere...

Since we have sequential turns we could in theory check the demo table after each team has played and look at the changes there to know what they are doing.

This should indeed increase the amount and accuracy of information we should be able to infer, although it means more work.

It is a lot of work, mind you, and I am happy Kylearan wants to be heavily involved as well.

Just to reassure you: Although I've been quiet during the last few days (nothing really to add...), I'm still planning to help you out (and learn a bit on the way, too ).

Reporting for duty. At least I did exactly what you are describing in the first civ3 MDTG (for team TNT) and I suppose I should be able to do the same in civ4.

Then I would explore SE through the hills towards the cows next...away from the fruitless desert hills basically.
