Oh. Ehm. Ah.

If cancer is not cured, blame Burnout 3, then

I don't know what the deadlines are on PS3 units. If they are as tight as the SMP ones (typically 48 hours) that my system folds, you could also waste folding time if your unit deadlines expire while you are playing Burnout. My system would fail to meet deadlines if it were running less than 50% of the time or 50% of the capacity.

I found a list of all the servers, and looked up the two that it was attempting to send to... one's status is listed as "full", while the other is "accept". I didn't know why it was unable to send to the "accept" one, but then I saw that it had no assigned ports. I'll wait a couple of days and keep trying.

Glad to assist you guys. My 4.0 GHz dual core is getting one WU out every half hour. :)

Hello - welcome! I can't see your name (Leeksoup) in any of our lists, or in the Stanford donor list. What name and team do you have set up in your folding software?

Err, maybe not. The first one got done in a half hour, but now I have a freaking 4000 (yes four thousand) frame WU. It'll take... three days.

Also, I forgot to put the team number in.

Still, pretty impressive.

Welcome to the team. The more the merrier.

Welcome Leeky, always nice to have another member.
And who is Captain Carnage ?

So, did anybody try the SMP 5.91 Beta 6 ?
Is it working good ? I had problems while using the beta 5 (went from 1760 to 12 points/week), so I'm back on 5.93 graphical client. Should I use the newer one ?
I guess the answer is yes, but I'd like to know if others had problems first.

Ooops sorry, I thought it was someone that signed up under a different name.

I just spooled up a dual-core PC with the SMB client Friday afternoon, it looks like it is knocking out a 1760-pt workunit every two days, which might keep AlanH from overtaking me for another several months.

If they come up with a service version of that SMB client, I'm going to be in the Sahkuhnder-esque 10K points per day range shortly thereafter.

Let's hope that version comes up, then. That would be great!

I don't think the charity I do work for would be happy with me loading up FaH on all their PCs, and I don't have access to any other hardware. So I don't think I'll ever have more than my one and a bit computers available for the cause. My ambition currently is to get into the top 2000, having broken through the 3000 barrier, and to get to 1 Million points !

:goodjob:

I know it's not about the points, but that's how I stay motivated, so :dunno: Anyway, I just came across this article describing an unsupported way of running the SMP client on a workstation, so I think I'll give it a shot on one and see how it goes.
