At the moment my favorite Wonder is the Pyramids. I have been running Specialist Economies lately with a super science city so Pyramids is a must, along with Great Library, National Epic, Caste System and a Philosphical Leader. Real-world would have to be the Pyramids also they were an engineering feat for the times. Also the speculationa around how they were built adds an extra mystery to them.

My favourite in game wonder changed to the Great Lighthouse since I realised just how good it is. Especially since I usually play on snaky continents. Real world wonders? No idea, I guess I just like them all since I am a history junkie.

Wow  cool... Maybe the admins will let us MOD the game to add these:D

All that talk about wonders has got me thinking...

What's everyone's favorite in-game wonders?

And what about favorite real-world wonders?
The Great Wall of China is the only man-made structure that is visible on the surface of the earth from space...:borg:... Well... that, and the Oil spil in the Gulf of Mexico :cowboy:.

Not to prove you wrong, but TGW from space thing is just a myth. I don't think you can actually see it.

Well not to prove you wrong but... the "myth" is that the Great Wall is visible from the moon. It is visible from space, especially in low orbit.

NASA's website says that the great wall is hard to see but still visible from space... and definitely visible from space using radar imaging.

And SPACE.com says that alot of other things are visible from space too... like the Pyramids for example.

Anyway, the comment was more tongue in cheek:p... Notice I also made the crack about the oil spill (which is definitely visible from space):)

Just as something cool to note. I was reading the re-issue of the time WWII classic and found something kind of funny. You probably knew that the Japs had a warrior code as to they should rather die in honor than surrender. Anyway some of the Japs on Iwo Jima were still in hiding and attacking American soldiers for 4 months after the war. The Japs also had a tunnel network for defense. In 1949 two Japanese soldiers came out of one of the tunnels and surrendered. 4 years after the war was over. Oh and too bad it's not the more famous one, but a had a relative raise the fist American flag on Iwo Jima. The second one is much more famous. Just thought I'd share.

Haha:

And I'm pretty sure my relative was one of these men, not sure which one though.
