Do you think Pluto can Be terraformed?

3. How would you provide so much energy when we can't even fulfill our own planets need for energy.

How about nuclear energy? We're only a few decades from fusion power anyway.

still even Fusion energy wouldn't be enough. Look at the sun it has a gigantic reactor which we would have to build a power plant that would supply at least 1/3 of the power needed.

Well, in my scenarios (i know it sounds unrealistic but please bear with me), i conjured up my own form of energy called (cutting my own throat, but i'm saying it anyway) "Plutonium fusion." Just like regular fusion. Only difference, you use plutonium instead of hydrogen. Theoretically, the energy provided by plutonium fusion could be enough to power half the country, because plutonium atoms are so much larger, have a lot more electrons and protons and neutrons, and are much more reactive. This is why I think that a plutonium fusion BOMB would sink Cuba in one shot. A big enough PF (plutonium fusion) bomb, you get a new star, hopefully.

fusing 2 plutonium atoms would also be EXTREMELY dangerous, for obvious reason. The new atom, which I call "Pisces Centaurium," after the star I created in my scenarios, would be so big and so unstable, it would stay together for only fractions of a nanosecond before falling apart, resulting in a HUGE explosion, assuming you have plenty other pisces centaurium atoms around.

Also, if a pf explosion is big enough, again theoretically, all the atoms would be reduced to hydrogen atoms due to the high heat, and if there is somehow enough gravity, maybe say, a small planet or planetoid, (or Jupiter, whichever you prefer) you just might get a new star.

@Perfection: Since when are you a mere human being?
I'm not merely a human being, however part of me is a human being.

Though the interest in Pluto is less then that of Quaoar, Quaoar is better.

Yeah, but if you have to power it with unnatural equipment you really havent terraformed it, you just put a really big space heater on it. Terraforming should set up a mostly self-sustaining ecosystem not just make it livable.

Yes Pluto is a planet and most scientist agree with that although the whole planet telling thing is already screwed up and in a mess.
No I think most scientists in the field would describe it as a KBO or planetoid. The reason, there is a whole bunch of big objects in the Kuiper Belt, some nearing Pluto's size, Quaoar Varuna Charon and many other yet unnamed objects circle in an orbit very similar to Pluto's. Pluto is a KBO not a planet.

It sounds like to me that you're trying to impose your views or will upon other people, like a dictator or something. I'll report you if you keep it up.

@ Plutonian Empire, your idea of Plutonium fusion wouldn't work. First off there is absolutly no evidence that you could smash those two atoms together, and even if you could, it would require just as much energy put into it as you would get out, there is no way you could get a net increase of power from it.

1. Looking at your signature I wouldn't make the accusation.
2. Also he's free to not accept my arguement, I'm just showing the flaws in his.
3. Being a dictator is not against forum rules.

You never know untill you try :)
Or you have basic knowledge about atomic physics and the laws of thermodynamics.

Dictators rule by fear. I don't want to do that (yes, my wording was wrong in that post :) ). I'd rather be a benevolent (as much as possible) monarch. By the way, that bowing thing was just a joke. :)

You need energy to collapse it and energy to maintain it.

Well then, all we gotta do now is build a good ship and dive into the sun so we can study it!
Could you be in it?

(Sorry, I couldn't resist :p)

Hey wait! That gives me an idea! Let's terraform the sun while we're at it. :yeah:

;)

Maybe you!

We can't terraform the sun!

I forgot to put in :joke:

@Perfection
And you say Pluto can't be terraformed... :mischief:

this is, quite possibly, the worst idea i've ever heard. if you want to argue with Perfection, at least make it about something cool, like Giant Death Robots or something.
