Test: Heaven or Hell?

CenturionV said:
It is agains the commandment, its not as aggravated a sin as murder. As I said ITS NOT THE DEGREE OF SIN THAT KEEPS YOU IN OR OUT. It just the fact that you sinned. You could live your life perfect, you could be 90 years old without sin, on your deathbed, and have the one most unaggravated sin, and you would not make it into heaven without chirst.

Are you perfect? If not, you need jesus.
Can I borrow yours?

@Mauser

It isn't? That's the impression I'm getting:

Perhaps you think God is good and because of his goodness He will overlook your sins?

But if you knew of a human judge who turned a blind eye to the crimes of a guilty rapist... would you describe him as a "good" judge?

No.

That would be a "corrupt" judge.

Comparing tiny little breaches in religous protocol to rape is also uncalled-for.

There's no way I'm going to hell.

Sure, Cuba is big enough, but we couldn't all fit into it.

I'm sorry, you've got it wrong, the closest to hell on Earth that there is is probably Rwanda, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Angola, Iraq, North Korea, or Chechnya. Cuba simply does not compare.

Edot: how is it possible for jesus to have died for the sins of the future, if they hadn't even been commited yet, that part alone is the hardest part to understand, far worse things have happened after jesus died than before.
Because jesus is 100% God and 100% man, he essentially paid for the whole human race, past, present, and future.

This was the entire idea behind the jewish sacrafices, they where a shadow, pointing forward to the inevitable coming of chirst, they did not even know his name, but they knew he was coming, and that they needed his forgivness. Many less learned people assume that the sacrafices where some how for appeasment, when they where instead there to point towards the future redeemer, christ. Killing sheep can not take away you sin, however it could point forward to the lamb of God. We no longer need these shadows because the light has come, and is ready to spread on the earth (and I think we can all agree it has spread) its no coincidence that the temple was destroyed only about 40 years after jesus, death, Jesus,

Matthew 24:1-2
"And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

Matthew 27:50-51 "Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;"

Even old testament people from before the time of moses understood this.

Job 19:25
"For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth"

this is from an old testament book, that was written long before jesus came to earth. Probably within a few hundred years after the flood.

Thanks for the explanation, but I think I will stick to my beliefs.

They hurt my head less than trying to understand that.

(How could anyone be 100% of anything and 100 % of anything else at the same time, that is like saying 1 + 1 = 1)

@SolarKnight

"2+2=5":scan:

:joke:

Can a person not be 100% human and 100% [insert nationality here]?

Just in case there are newcomers, that haven't taken the time to go to the first post.

The ever so controversial are you a good person test:
http://www.livingwaters.com/good/

Actually, that isn't a 'are you good' test, it's a 'are you going to hell' test.
If you fail on that test, there is a very good chance you are still a very good person :)

I was just pointing out the test. Thank you for your commentary.

I just found it funny the name of the test was 'are you a good person' :)
It implies that if you do not follow the rules from the ten commandments STRICTLY, you are not a good person.
I never did like the 'follow us or you are doomed forever' attitude :p

The creater of the site says God is not all merciful. He is interpreting God in his own eyes, therefore he's going to hell.

What did I get from the quiz?

That is God is jealous and wrathful - both pretty big sins - documented in the Bible.

Sure hope He has accepted Jesus as His saviour.

I agree, this site portrays God as wrathful, completely opposite of JC's teachings...

Somewhat like the "eye for an eye", hateful, vengeful god of the Old Testamant, which contrasts very much with the merciful and forgiving god of the New.

I had Guilty for all commandments. I must say, they have a weird defination of murder and adultery.

Whew! :p

I don't get theology, there's all these different groups yelling about all these different things without a shred of evidence besides arguing from thier little book.

I just say to heck with that, do what you think is best, if you're confused ask someone you respect what they think.

1. "You shall have no other gods before me."

Guilty-I like the Odin archetype much more than the Iehoveh one.

2. "You shall not make for yourself any idol.".

Innocent-Can't say that I have ever worshipped an innanimate object, nor an animate one for that matter.

3. "You shall not take the name of God in vain.".

GUILTY!-No explanation needed.

4. "Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy."

Guilty-The only Sabbath that I have had anything to do with in the last 9 years is Black. When I first met you, didn't realize...

5. "Honor your father and mother."

Guilty-One of the few broken commandments for which I am remorseful.

6. "You shall not murder."
"He who hates his brother is a murderer"

Innocent-Granted that me and my brother have given each other some unpleasant memories, but I could honestly say I have never hated him. Though I have hated others who are not my brother, but that doesen't apply here. (We're supposed to take the bible literally word for word.)
Now even if I did honestly hate my brother, it is still not murder, because murder is the taking of a life and nothing else. If Jesus wants to make his case on semantic distortion he should become an attorney and stop wasting our time.
Disclaimer: No offense to FredLC-the only decent lawyer. Regards :)

7. "You shall not commit adultery".
But I say to you thatwhoever looks at a woman with lust for her has already commited aldultery with her in his heart."

Innoceent-As far as American convention is concerned, adultery is marital infidelity and nothing else. So by simply experiencing hormones that God gave us, we have broken one of His commandments? Hey God, are you smoking something?
And what about women who lust for men? Do they not count as well, or are they not considered since this was written in a time of complete disregard for that of women?

8. "You shall not stea.l"

Guilty-and not proud.

9. "You shall not lie."

Guilty-of course.

10. "You shall not covet."

Guilty-A completely impractical commandement. It is after all the principle on which capitalism is based as George Carlin would attest.

@North King

So what's your point?
