That time of the year--Post the worst eurovision songs of all time

And if Australia can enter Eurovision, just exactly which country wouldn't qualify?

In fact, I'm all in favour of Australia being in it. I mean, why not? Apparently Australians enjoy watching Eurovision (heaven help the poor benighted souls!), so why shouldn't they have an entry?

Well, in all frankness, Australia, Israel, Jordan and Morocco do have a common Abrahamic heritage.

So I guess China and Japan would never be able to participate. Iran and the US might join Eurovision one day!

'Europe hates the UK and never votes for us'

Erm, don't you remember when we put in that lass from the first Pop Idol and got third place with a decent ballad? Never mind, carry on with all the trashy pop crap we keep putting in every other year.

And then Jade got 5th place with another decent balad.

They're still upset with Europe because Cliff Richard didn't win in 1968.

I can't see why not. My point was that Australia is the country, apart from New Zealand, with the most tenuous geographical link with Europe. At least you can get to China from Europe overland. At least Marco Polo claimed to have done so.

It's on...
Netherlands didn't make it to the final, as usual (minus last two years)

I am surprised people don't get the main thing: Eurovision is a celebration of peace and diversity.
Something that we struggle even here with... And this is a gaming forum!

Well this isn't the worst, rather pretty much the UKs best entry since 2000, followed by Jade:

UK ... WHY U NO CARRY ON PUTTING IN SONGS THAT ACTUALLY WORK LIKE THESE INSTEAD OF ALL THAT TERRIBLE POP CRAP?

And the funnier thing is, she comes third, then the UK completely forgets about her (the song only reached no 13 in the UK charts), while all the trash songs that got 0 points get to number 1 lol.

Oh, people "get it" alright. They just don't understand why it has to be celebrated with crap songs and tawdry entertainment.

Still, maybe that's part of it. Who knows?

The worst Eurovision songs 2015 : Finland, United Kingdom and Latvia (beautiful singer btw)

The best Eurovision songs 2015 : the Netherlands, Slovenia and Georgia.

Really sorry Russia did not win :( Not sure what was so special about Swedish song? :dunno:

The greek one must have been absolutely terrible. Cyprus only gave them 8 points.

I'm surprised, I tend to find most Eurovision songs completely boring, forgettable and crappy, but the winner this year is actually rather catchy. I sure won't remember it much, sure, but it was rather pleasant.
Is it Germany who got 0 points ? The song was far to be the worst IMO.

But the most disappointing and crappy thing in this contest, which is supposed to display "diversity and building bridges", is how 90% of the songs are in english. It seems that only the latin countries still have a culture of their own and dare to speak their own language (and the Finnish, kudo for being the only northern country using your actual own tongue). From what I've seen, there is only Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Finland and Montenegro who used native songs. Among twenty-plus nations. Seriously...
I mean, guys, you're supposed to represent your country, and yet you all sprout these english songs ? Pretty terrible.

I see nothing wrong about using English. If I say Mi zhkhti -- you won't get the message, so I have to say Do not deny. In Armenia we have this saying -- you are as many persons as many languages you speak. Which leaves most Americans and Brits pretty lonely. After all we all used to have the same tongue long long time ago:

Both songs are similar.
It was very likely that a song with these kinds of lyrics would win.
Russia probably would have won if there wasn't a conflict.
