The Ancient Mediterranean MOD

Played around with version 1.5 a little, looks marvelous so far. Some weird things happened though:

The most serious is, as soon two cities get connected by road all city symbols indicating defenceboni, religion etc. disappear from screen.

I don't get starting techs, intentional? (played epic speed)

Civpediabutton disappaered once, just one time though.

Playing Mycaene I loaded a savedgame from within the game were I was roman and found myself as Mycaene again. My Romans were taken by the AI with just one reload, hehe

Keep up the good work!

Btw if anyone knows something about whiteflagproblems have a look here
and help me please!

oh thanks man...:goodjob: you don't know how much job and "looking around why" you saved me just by saying that!!!
hehe So I'll fix the trading symbol as soon as I can, since it's obviously this one that messes things up... damn I hate that gamefont fille...

For the starting techs, I guess we'll implement some in 1.6;)

Glad to help you,

tis a wonderful Mod you guys work on! I'll watch out for more bugs I can find.

Say by any chance do you know something about Whiteflag problems? I'm fighting against that for a hole week now!

Regarding the starting techs.

If you start a normal game with the mod loaded each civ will get its starting techs. However, for the scenario, currently none are set. I asked Thamis about that and he said to hold off for now. When he gives the go I'll implement them :)

Ah, now I know,

well hope this'll take while so I can finish at least one game before a new versionnumber pops up:)

haha!

The reason the techs weren't implemented also is because the mod isn't complete yet; and things are still subject to change. So it is better to have no starting technologies so you can work out your strategies from a clean slate.

Later once they are added, it will make it more interesting. Plus, some civs might have more starting techs than others (*ahem* Romans).

This would be a good idea. Right now it seems the gallic and iberian civ are always on top. I tried Caesar this time cause the Gallic civ was far too easy getting all the wonders and winnig wars at the same time. Rome has lots of borders and when played by AI could need some advantage.

Yes, you're using the wrong map.

This is the right map, included as an attachment. Delete the previous map, and put this one in its place instead (after unzipping it).

Enjoy :)

NOTE: The NEW version of the map is in a .zip file called TAMv15Map.zip!!!

Thanks! Now I can get the real 1.5. I knew I was missing something.

Just out of curiosity, is there anyway I could help with you guys. I am clueless when it it comes to programming etc, but I love Ancient History and have a lot of books on the old world, and I am reasonably knowledgeable.
So If I could contribute, IE give back I would like to. If you would like to give me an assignment I would be glad to pitch in.

Thanks again

I don't see any reason not to include, but Thamis is the boss. Right now Leptomeninges is working on civilopedia entries and whatnot, but if needs a hand, maybe he has something for you :)

PS- that map I zipped probably does not work... I just tried it on my computer and civ crashed before it even started. (It was mixed because it was added on using the WorldBuilder, which messed it up). Sorry about that...

Of course you can join in, help is always appreciated, especially on the historical side of things, since there will be A LOT of pedia entries to fill (ressources, civ history, units history) All that researching certainly represents a huge amount of work! We also need quotes, more city names for the new civs, etcetcetc...

Comunicate with me, I'll explain to you what's needed if you want!

No, this is perfect. With that map, we can include the Goths, Media, Persia, the Britons, and Nubia.

Finally.

aha, didn't know you wanted them in. Good then :)

With my v1.4 campaign:

The Roman Legionary upgrades into the inferior Armored Infantry.

Yeah - if you want to help with pedia entries there is *lots* to be done there. Talk with Laurino or send me a pm so we don't end up doing the same work.

i started 1.5 and saw taht there is so much work left to do... so i tought i should not waste the time with playing around. I made 3 Skins you could use. I hope you will use them. I also made 3 Buttons but got no Screenshot or them ready.

-to the skrimisher with the shirt, i could try to give him a armor and change his wooden shild to an metallic shild..

Those look nice BenGee. I don't work on the graphical side myself, but I'm sure they'll find a place for them. Thanks for your work!
