Adding so many techs to Transhuman era will be a bit problematic because in RoM it has already 68 techs and other eras have something like 30-50 techs so Transhuman era has the most techs - the problem is that the game engine gives each era a percentage of turns (same amount for each era) to complete that era and this affects game speed and game date. I'd advise to put most new future techs to Galactic era and add as little as possible to transhuman era unless you want to spend lots of more for trying to figure out good turn amounts for all game speeds in order to keep the game dates at least somewhat historical order...

Thanks for the heads-up on this, I'll go ahead and take what Afforess calls "The programmer's way" and just make most of those for the Galactic Era, but Orbital Flight through Lunar Tourism should be in the Transhuman era.

Looks like you put a lot of the techs from the Trans-Human Era into the Galactic Era. But how are you going to accomplish that when many of the techs they rely upon are early Trans-Human Era techs?

Tech prereqs aren't limited to techs in it's own era.

Ok so basicly my orginal idea was ..

Ancient Era = Basic visible space objects you can see in the sky.

Classical Era = Tracking the cycles of planets, moon and sun.

Medieval Era = More detailed maps of the sky.

Renaissance = Telescopes and the discovery of things you could not see with the naked eye.

Industrial Era = The beginning of radio astronomy.

Modern Era = Lauching things into space, orbit and landing on the moon. Sending probes to other planets.

Trans-Human Era = Colonizing the moon, exploring and colonizing other planets. Also sending probes out to other star systems.

Galactic Era = Traveling to other star systems, colonizing them and eventully lead up to god-like technology.


So basically do we want the begining of the Galaxtic Era to start when you start colonizing other planets or when travel to other stars?

I hate to say it but perhaps we should have 2 extra eras. One in which you are limited to your solar system and one in which your are limited to your galaxy.
 
Oh, and a few techs I thought of last night:

Transverse Euclidean Geometry(requires an event to research)
- Units that take advantage of 4D

Endogenous Euclidean Propulsion(reqs Transverse Euclidean Geometry)
- Spacecrafts that can do almost everything(I'm thinking Flight of the Navigator type of craft)

Euclidean 5-Space Geometry(reqs Transverse Euclidean Geometry, Singularity Stabilization)
- Five dimensional mass gives gravity for 3-4 dimensional crafts

Analyze Strings(reqs Euclidean 5-Space Geometry)
- Gives Ascension event, ends game with science victory.
- repeatable (replaces "Future Tech" at the end of the tree)

Arrg you still haven't noticed... I'm taking out "Interstellar Travel" altogether, the speedway can have some propulsion tech, but Interstellar Travel is too general and redundant in contrast to all the new propulsion techs that will be added.
 
Are we going to have any space battles? If so do we need any techs for that? And what they heck would you even use? I mean by then we have like nanite swarms and stuff. Unless we go into like implosion bombs which create miniature black holes which will evaporate after exploding and sucking the enemy inside.

Ok that'f great but what about Teleporation and Space Colonies? They are in RoM but would be pushed more to the Galactic Era if you move those other techs. I think we need to go back to look at the Requirements tech ...

I'll figure out the reqs.

I need buildings and units for the homeworld only (nothing that would be built by colonies) for example a resource shuttle to send to the moon or a resource shuttle construction building, etc. (I'm guessing this list won't be that big)

Anyway, enough about techs, I need buildings and units. As I said before none of these will be built by colonies, they'll all be actual units built in your cities.

I don't think you quite understand, the colonies will build stuff, but that's from a different XML file that has not been created yet, which we'll go over later. What I need are buildings and units that your visible cities will create, these can vary from new combat units to resource shuttles that will be sent to the moon or to orbit.
