The Capo's LH Gallery and Self-Help Thread!

You needn't the game to make your lhs. You need a man with the game and lhs from the game.

Be patient, Capo said this:

I am going nowhere though boys. Stay patient and I will not disappoint.

Having said that:
I'm also eager to see some of his WIP LHs
Some of your planned LHs too, Novator ;)

Arpad will be my first priority when I return, as many of you know I have an affinity for the Magyar community here and I have been slacking on a lot of projects I told them I would work on. So that will be something I try to finish before I work on anything else. As far as D2 goes, I really want to finish that up and I was so close, so once I get my files back I will have the updated version, including hundreds of units I have made that are unreleased, including a really good Egyptian set that I think is much needed. I am pretty excited about it, and unlike last time I will upload all of my original stuff just in case something unforseen happens to me again. So for the first couple of weeks I will just be finalizing and releasing a lot of material. Should be fun.
Bump.

So I tried editing in Blender using the number-pad since my mouse is broken. Epic failure, fortunately I did get to look at Arpad again and he is basically finished other than one simple thing, which is to texturize the Eagle on top of his helmet. The only reason this is difficult is because I have to add a "metallic" effect to it, it doesn't have one now because it is essentially ripped off of an eagle unit I found somewhere. But that should actually not take too long. The background I have can use some work so if somebody wants to help me with that it would be awesome.

I remember attempting to make one with little to no success, what I have now is simple a picture of a forest that may or may not be in Hungary (it probably is though since I usually make sure my bgs are actually semi-appropriate). I think Arpad deserves better, so if anyone has any ideas or wants to find one for me that'd be kinda helpful. Basically I don't like backgrounds that are clearly photographed, I like to be able to make them look somewhat good and it also has to fit with the leaderhead itself. Arpad, at least in his current form, is a bit dark. So ideally this background should be taking place at dusk or at night, potentially the very early morning.

making the eagle shaded and baking the textures should give the matellic effect you need.

I am way out of practice, so I am pretty ashamed to admit I don't know how to do this. Arpad is nearly finished though. I just have to patch up a few rough edges and learn how to "shade and bake" the texture to give the eagle a metallic/golden look. Right now here is what he looks like:

Right now I would like anyone who knows how to do this to help me out (Ekmek). And of course I am always open to suggestions on what else to do with him.

Ah, I already started thinking that this would never be realized. Good to see you are back working on it. Two things come to my mind thinking on improvements. First is, that the arms look a bit boring. Some structure to the texture wouldn't be bad, I think. The other thing is, that he should be equipped with a weapon, I'd suggest a bow or a kopja (but the later is already used by Nitrams Koppány).

As of the texture baking, it sounds like you have something certain in mind. Thus, texture baking might be worth it depending on what you plan to do. You should try it at least, if that doesn't require you too much work.

As I will be away from home the next two weeks, I won't be able to relink my yert images that I took a while back that may be suitable for the background. I'll give you everything I have, just make your own decision:

Having said this, I'd like to point out, that I won't be able to update my Hungary mod within the next two weeks, so don't wonder please. Also, SaibotLieh is making new settlers for me, a girl and a woman are already done. Depending on how long it will take him to finish the man, I might wait a bit longer with a new version of my mod.

I don't think a weapon is necessary. If anything I would add a quiver with arrows, but AFAIK both a quiver and a sword would have been worn on the hip by Magyars of this period and not on the back, which is why you can not see one. :goodjob:

I would really love to have Gustav and add Sweden Civ but under his arm (tricep part) and shirt in the shoulder part is transparent. Like, he's wearing the cloak of invisibility inverted. Is he really like this?

^ nah, I traversed the whole database 4 times looking for the specific leaders I need in my game. Don't remember seeing him there. Thanks anyway, I'll look for another source.

I'd look in mods, not the leaderhead database. That's what the word "hard" was there for. This is my Gallery and "Self-Help" thread for a reason.

Mods? dang, haven't checked that part. He's also not in the New Civilization section, so, this will be hard.
