It's awesome, and basically done except for one issue: there still appears to be a faint outline of glasses. Even if it's just an optical illusion, it looks a bit...odd.

But even so, it's great!

Great to see this thread back in action. I have a few suggestions for the Aborigine LH:

Firstly, make his nose not stick out as much and also wider. As a people they have a very distinctive wide nasal shape, here's an example:

Secondly his eye colour needs to be made a very deep brown. And finally, I realize this is a problem with Gandhi LH itself, but his head desperately needs to be more in proportion with his body. The small frame and giant head make him look like a pygmy which the Aborigines most definitely were not.

I have to update the Dido file anyway, so I'll take a look at the neck and see what I can do.

Cool. Not sure what else you could do to improve on her, but looking forward to seeing your updates. I also don't think you really need to fix the neck, just covering the visible seem with a necklace should work just fine; but you're the artist, maybe you have something else in mind.

I mentioned one of the reasons I started working on an Aborigine leader was that I figured it'd be easy, and so far it has been. I plan on changing the mustache (I think), but I'm not really sure which one would fit this LH.

Anyway, here is a better in-game shot of the LH, which I have started calling "Yagan" until I figure out who he should be (you could also call this one "Gandhi on Acid"). It was a very simple LH to make, and drew heavily upon the Aborigine LHs we have now. I hope you guys like him so far, and if you have any suggestions please let me know.

I understand you wanted to change Gandhi's eye colour, but are you sure blue works well for an Aborigine leader? Don't get me wrong, actually the LH looks very good with blue, but I think it's not appropriate enough...
Also, I would change his nose and mustache slightly. They are too similar to Gandhi's thus give me a wrong impression

EDIT: The mustache is very important to be similar to the ones on the pics
Overally, I would like to see the face of the LH as close to the last 2 pictures as possible. Of course this may be hard, but I'm sure you can make something decent
The clothing: I think the one on the first painting is not exaggarated much. You can easily go with something like that
Or it can be something even more simple looking, similar to the common clothes of hungarians at that time (see Bakuel's units as Cool3a2 suggested)

I think the one I made looks pretty close. I'll work on the texturing a little bit, and widen the nose. Other than that I think it looks fine.

I made his eyes blue only because I thought they'd stand out more since everything else is a kind of reddish/brown color. I could make them brown, but I think it would result in the LH looking a bit boring.

Another thing, that you can't really see from the screens is that he has the same "flickering" effect on him like Sitting Bull, the LH looks much better in-game compared to the screens.

For Árpád, the pictures Absinthe suggested are pretty good, regarding the head. But for the clothes, I'd suggest to use the picture avain linked and which I was refering to when saying 'the picture on wikipedia'. Plus get inspired by Bakuels units. I believe the painting among Absinthes collection was the base for Zervers version, but I have the impression that the clothing was modernized by the painter. I would imagine Árpád wearing more fur.

Well I've never met a Koori with blue eyes and I know quite a few Is resizing the head possible? I think the Cultural Diversity mod (part of BAT) has a version of Gandhi with a far more reasonable head size if that helps.

shrinking thhe head is easy making the skeleton match up is another story.

I'm not going to go too far into detail with the Aborigine leader. It was just something I thought I could whip up quickly. I am already working on a new mustache so it matches better, but the problem is that Gandhi doesn't have a lip behind his mustache so I have to create one for him. I'll change the eye-color, I suppose, and edit the nose a little bit, but honestly I am not going for a great amount of realism here, I just wanted to make a better (and shadered) Aborigine LH than the ones we have out now, and I figured this would look better.

So in sum; this was just an un-planned, spur-of-the-moment LH I whipped up in around two hours.

I know you weren't planning on any major for the aboriginal leader head, but if you are working on the nose, could you also flatten it a bit when you widen it? I mean, Gandhi has a pretty long nose length wise while most aborigines noses are flat. It would also help distinguish the leader head a bit from Gandhi.
I don't know how much work fooling around with the nose is, but I just thought I would throw that out there.

I didn't realize this many people would be concerned over an Aborigine LH. I'm a little astonished to be honest.

EDIT: I also wanted to point out that a couple of the things pointed out as "issues" were actually done intentionally. I know there is another Gandhi out there with a smaller/more proportioned head. But I kind of liked the cartoony firaxis style, and figured this might be a cool one to make look a bit more cartoony. But if the masses demand more realism, then I can give them more realism. I intentionally made his eyes blue to look a bit more mystical (I suppose it is hard to tell, but I made them a little cloudy looking too), but I suppose I could switch them to brown or something. I just thought I needed a different color in there to break up the monotony of the brown/red/white schema I had going on.

The Aborigine will be a neat civ to play as, so of course we're concerned.
It's always nice to have a really unique civ added to the mix.
I'd vote for just making nose nose flatter (and a bit wider), and maybe shrinking the head a bit if possible. The eyes are fine.

Being cartoony is ok for me.

Then make both a blue-eyed and dark-eyed version of Yagan, so everyone can decide which one to use.
If you change the nose and slightly the mustache then it will be perfect to me anyway

just cut out shaka's nose and use that instead of ghandis


edit: and why do you need o make a lip. the moustache will cover it. just take pericles 'stache too
