I got 41 words per minute with 40 correct words and 5 mistakes. I've never really been that great at typing. Although it did say I did better than 65% of the people who have taken the test so I guess that's not too bad.

Fastest I got was 75wpm with one mistake. (over and over and over)

No idea how anyone gets over 100! :goodjob:
Must look like Data from TNG typing.

The timed writings I used to do in my typing classes consisted of actual sentences and paragraphs, not random words.

Evidently I'm much faster on an electric typewriter than on a laptop.

97 / 1 mistake.

I could have gone marginally faster if I hadn't stopped to correct myself, or if the words were actually part of meaningful sentences so that I could read ahead a little. But I think ~100ish would be my upper limit.

EDIT: Try this typing challenge: http://games.usvsth3m.com/edballs/

46, 4 mistakes. I think I do better when I know what I want to type instead of looking at a list of random words. I tend to look at my keyboard even if I don't need to. It's jut a habit I can't rid myself of and during the test my eyes constantly go from keyboard to screen and back which probably slows me down a lot.

Edit:
Second atempt: 48, 2.
I think I'll use this site from time to time to improve my typing.

35 words per minute I AM THE BEST AROUND

Ungh, 84 with two mistakes. Either not having had coffee matters a bunch, I'm slipping, or both. This would not do for taking dictation.

I only have 36 words per minute :(

41 on a retry.

94 in my case. Hmm, it seems I'm marginally better than when I last checked. Age not catching up with me yet in this regard, that's a good sign.

How the heck do people type that fast?

I would say practice, most likely a job that requires you to type a lot. I remember that my typing speed was a lot higher around term paper deadlines or whenever I got halfway serious about modding or programming, but it's one of those skills that quickly diminish unless used constantly.
