don't agree with axing siam, but of the ones left songhai is the best and arabia the worst.

Japan's issue is that its entirely specialized for military, but since military power can get you... essentially everything else (puppets ) - it's an awesome Civ.

As for Arabia:
Double oil is cool, but not enough to cover the distance.
Bazaar... overrated. The only use for it is to sell its luxury resources to the AI for outrageous prices, which needs to get patched - the AI values them too much.
No experience with the UU, so I can't say anything there.

For immortal or deity - debatable on emperor (with edge to Songhai UB) - songhai is stronger below emperor. Any game where you settle a few cities below that, you're already milking the AI for all they have - the Arabian UB is worth zip (unless you have the commerce policy for extra happiness).
