For immortal or deity - debatable on emperor (with edge to Songhai UB) - songhai is stronger below emperor. Any game where you settle a few cities below that, you're already milking the AI for all they have - the Arabian UB is worth zip (unless you have the commerce policy for extra happiness).

Any speed above "normal", any difficulty, Songhai crushes Arabia. Ugly.

(And nobody's even considering their embarkation...)

Any speed above normal? So, on quick?
I don't know anybody that plays on quick speed, but given that one of Songhai's strong points is extra gold in the early game and the power of their UU, it would seem that they would fare better on lower game speeds. The arabs on the other hand appear more effective on higher speeds, with their ranged UU having a far longer window of usefulness, and the Bazaar being incredibly useful for the ENTIRE GAME.

Semantic misunderstanding. Speeds "above" normal are epic & marathon.

Well, okay, "above" is ambiguous - that's what I meant, though.

for games at emperor and below - I'm only trading an 'excess' copy. So I only need one version to generate free gold. It a nice simple way to drain the AIs of all gpt, thereby breaking them as they try to build an army or buildings. It's all 'free'.
