Spoiler :

Yes, Nergal, I am looking forward to Rider Armies. :trouble:

Going back to the AC/Sword debate, since I have 1 vet AC, I only need two more to fill the army. That's no more than 10 turns until it I can fill it to capacity. That makes me lean more towards ACs, but I just keep thinking, "If I fill it with swords, I can do significant damage in 10 turns." I'll take a closer look at where my swords are the next time I play. If they're in position to fill now, I'll probably fill it with swords. If they'll be 3-4 turns before I can load them, I may wait for ACs.

The extra hitpoints and the extra movement of an AC army makes it much more valuable in the long run. I would wait and make it an AC army. IFthey are veterans or elites, that is.

You can go either way, but consider that the AC will kill more uniits and therefore go elite and maybe gain a leader, far better than those swords as individuals.

If you go with AC army, those swords will get to less battles and win fewer and even defend poorer (the extra hp). The swords in an army turns 3 not so great units into a strong unit for some time.

I love AC armies, but those AC will probably gen up another leader soon anyway.

Remember, he is saving one elite AC already, I personally would build the AC army, that extra movement point could make the difference in some situations.

He won't be saving it, if he wants to make an AC army. If he saves it, the army will take 5 turns longer to fill. I am not trying to argue one way or another, as I would not be sure how I would go, until I was actually playing.

A 2 unit AC army could do some damage, till it got the 3rd unit. The only problem wiht a short army with a units of 2 defense is once damaged, they can be killed. It all comes down to what the situation looks like. Again I could go either way, I just wanted to point out some of the options.

I'm skeptical about an AC army. You get to knights/riders

in not too long in the future. And the three extra hit points won't mean much if you run into 3-4 enemy UUs with strong attacks. Plus a unit with a 3 movement when everything else you got out there is moving at 1 is risking the army being stuck out there all alone with no support units to hide behind when it redlines.

This is AW, so it is unlikely that you would play till knights and not get another leader. I would expect to have several by then. You surely do not want to not fill the army for that many turns.

Armies are critical to defeating them, when you have so many civs to fight.

I didn't get enough written to post a full chapter, but I was home with Princess Bloodthirsty today, so I did squeeze in some CivTime today. If you're interested, I've put some highlights in the spoiler.

Spoiler :
  • I went with swords for the army.
  • By the time I had enough ACs to fill that army, I had another one.
  • I can build the Pentagon.
  • Gallic Swords arrived at my borders.
  • I learned Feudalism via the GLib.

Wow, sounds good, I can't wait for the update. :)

EDIT: How is Princess Bloodthirsty's Civ playing coming along?

Well since I was born in Lansing, I will be rooting for State, but point guard is out.

So did you fill that new army with ACs? The new new one, not the semi-old one that you filled with swords.

Well since I was born in Lansing, I will be rooting for State, but point guard is out.

I am actually a U-M fan myself, but I am rooting for State since Michigan sucks.

Actually I am a UM guy as well and root for them over State. Our family was UM before there was a Mich State school.

Well you might be a UM guy born in Lansing, but I used to live near Columbus, OH surrounded by OSU fans. You could call it a test of my faith.

Wow, gamezrule you were in hostile territory. And I was one of those hostiles, being a devout Buckeye fan. Too bad our other players sucked Friday.

Yeah, I used to live in Bucyrus, where in Ohio do you live? (i understand if you don't want to say) Anyway, I was down there a couple years ago during the Final Four (Greg Oden year) to get our stuff from when we did live there. Anyway, I remember going to a party for it at some old friends house and wearing a U-M shirt.

P.S. You actually spelled my name right. :faint:

I was rooting for Ohio and they had no business losing. I root for big 10 over non big 10, excpet for UCLA basketball as I lived in LA area for nearly 40 years.

Sorry for all the OT Aabraxan.

Yeah, how did we get on this topic anyway, was it my signature.
