I have just moved to new place and I made sure that there is a little fridge in my “study” room, so I do not waste time going to the kitchen to get another six pack of the brownish liquid substance of wisdom-while developing new tactics.

BTW, thanks for the Netscape 6.1 post. Naturally, it solved some problems, but I've already found bugs in the very text edit window where I'm writng this. The programmers/Java implementers fail to bounds check properly, and as a result, when the cursor reaches the end of the window, the text is obscured and/or shifted, making you think it is altered until you do some editing again. It causes accidental post deletions until you get the hang of it.

But at least now the graphics work (almost) correctly! And NS does lots of other stuff far superior to IE. So thanks....

Dang! Dang! Dang! I'm going to San Francisco next week, so I had to use one my credit cards, which is almost maxed. The other, I need for the trip, so, I guess I'll have to wait until I get back in early November. Ah, well, I've waited this long. Three more weeks won't hurt. I'll probably get the Guide when I'm in Cali.
 
I turned some of my old games from N64,Sega,Playstation, and a lot of my old pc games into Electronics Boutiques and only had to pay 10$ extra :) im so happy--i didnt feel like spending 70$ on a damn game lol. I was gonna throw most them out anyways-some werent taken because they were to old-but hey what the heck-only 10 dollars right :)
For those in the USA i suggest u do the same-speacially if ur on a tight budget like me-college is very expensive :cry:

It's a good day. But the great day will be the day when I would have Civ III in my hands...;)

I'm very happy because a good friend in Canada will buy the game for me and send it to me.
So maybe I will have civ III around 1 Week after the US release day. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

For The European release, I'm not optimics. I asked the release dates for France and the anwser from Infogrammes France was:
"Around T2 2002"... Not very good.

Maybe in UK, it will be sooner...

Hope everybody will be able to have a civ III version.

Anything longer than the time from when i double click the civ exe to the time i see the main screen shouldn't be considert "only" ;)
 
I'm personally very sceptical about an end-October release date for the UK. It has been end-December since as far I can remember - why should they suddenly change it now? Maybe end-Novermber is a possibility; in any case I'm pretty sure that there will be a delay of some weeks before the game appears in the UK.

From what I am told, the UK and US shipments are expected to arrive on the same day. Logistically I don't know if this will come to pass or not, but as I stated earlier, the version that the UK will receive will be identical to the North American version, so there is no delay for translation (sorry, you'll have to put up with our Yankee humor and ruffian English ).

I have *NO* other news to report about localized versions at this time, nor do I know if retailers in other parts of Europe will be able to procure copies of the US version. As soon as we know anything more, I will let you know.

I emailed Game UK to see if they are changing their availability date of 16/11/01 to something close to end of October and if they will be stocking the LE at the same time.

They emailed me back saying they are looking into it and will get back to me...

I've just found a Danish site where they expect to get Civilisation III (standard) the 16. November. It'll cost 349 kr which is aprox 43$. Check out www.cdromland.dk . Note! this site is in Danish ;)
So all you Danish people (and maybe Eurpean) If you can wait 14 more days which you'll have to any way if you use standstard shipping at amazon.com you'll be able to get it at this site and probably on other european sites including amazon.co.uk :)

I have preordered CD's and DVD's from Amazon and had the good fortune to have the Item in hand before they were available in stores.

I don't know if it will be like that again but ...we can dream!!
