I just tried playing Oblivion with max graphics settings.

Your not missing much. I can play smoothly but don't with maxed graphics its just not realy worth it. Even on low settings it purrrdy.

I have it quite high and with the HDR, it's perty. Not the highest thoguh and I toned down the shadows because I don't need them. My fps is from 20-60. ALso grass draw distance is at half.

Here are some screenshots I took a week or two ago... haven't played the game in a while.

Is no-one else amused that TF's first thought was to take a pic in combat rather than actually fight back?

I can play with max settings, except for grass, which gives some slowdown (and hides corpses :p ). It be turned off, and I ride freely in the countryside now.

I turned off grass mainly because I didn't like hunting around for my arrows. :)

I can also play on max settings.... ofcourse it takes about a second between each frame change but hey! No i play on low setting with minmal resolution. And then its pretty smooth most of the time. Except some places out in the open it can get a wee bit laggy. Thats why me and my pc lieks caves and such... Not so much work for my ATI x300 inside caves. ;)
But sometimes i switch on ultra high graphic settings and look on what could have been...

I love the water, I jsut wonder, where the heck are the fish? I Morrowind you couldn't swim anywhere without getting a slaughter fish attacknig you, here, the ocean seems, DEAD.

I also liked all the shipwrecks and random loot in a hollow log or random quest on the road in Morrowind.

@TF Why is your compass arrow blue? Is it a mod? All mine are red or green.

Is the Francois quest (where you fake his death) buggy? Everytime I try it, he says "I'm on your side!" even after I wait for him to finish his act. I've tried it when he says, "Oh, no! Don't slash me with that wicked blade", I've tried it when the Argonian speaks afterwards, and it doesn't work. (Yes, I'm using the sufferthorn, and I haven't used it before).

I had no problems with that quest: have you waited until the assassin entered the house first?

Yes, that's what I implied. The other assassin was already in the house.

Very odd, and does sound very glitch like. I simply attacked him the once and ran away, and the quest was continued.

I can't find anything online about problems with the quest. It sounds very unique, to say the least.

It did that (attacked), and tried to leave, but the game said I couldn't.

When I did let him finish his act, the other guy simply walked into the other room and didn't attack.

You know, come to think of it, I wonder if there's 2 quests overlapping. I know that the one person gave me the sufferblade, but then asked me to do another quest, which I did... then asked me to do this one.

Sounds rather odd. Have you tried reloading?

No doubt this will infuriate you more, but it all went completely to plan for me. Simply waited for the guy to stop talking, assassin entered, slashed guy, ran away.

I really can't see anything you're doing wrong.

Smae here, I talekd to him, asked him all I could, waited for the other guy, talked a bit more, then as the other guy attacked I killed Fran first. Then I followed the rest of the Juliet plan.

EDIT: I HIGHLY recommend the Belda Elysium house mod. It's beutiful.

I have a couple of screens I'd love to show bu they are over 2 megs and I don't know where I can host them and I only have MSPaint. What's a good utility to resize them with?

You can use MSPaint to save it into JPG format, which has much smaller file size than BMP.

The first one is part of the view from the bedroom balconey ar sunset. The second one is of my charactor relaxing in the bath, notice the white area around the eyes, I can't rmeember if that was there before when I made him or if there is a certain amount of sun exposure factor in the game.

(Thanks Thunderfall, changing them to jpegs worked!)
