The fate of Turkey.

I like that the official called the burning of his car a "crime against humanity". Why not a genocide? :)

He could almost be Palestinian!

From that BBC link:

BBC said:
The photo of a crying mother, her head thrown back in anguish, is splashed across the front pages of many of Turkey's privately-owned daily newspapers.

"The grief of all of us" headlines the centrist daily Vatan while the leftist Karsi proclaims: "We all know the murderer".

Other papers quote the words of Berkin's mother. "[PM] Erdogan has taken my son", reads the headlines of Evrensel, Aydinlik and Yurt newspapers.

I was not aware it got to this level of anger.. Not surprised it was so under-reported until now.

If we are to believe Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the culprits for the mass protests that have rocked his country for over two weeks are "the interest-rate lobby," "foreign hands," and their domestic "collaborators."

Why do you call it a conspiracy? It is an unconcealed policy!

Things are getting out of hand. About a thousand AKP supporters went the Okmeydanı District (where Berkin Elvan -the 14 year old boy- was shot) with clubs in their hands shouting allahu akbar, But Okmeydanı is also de facto headquarters of Revolutionary People's Liberation Party–Front zand there had been a armed conflict 1 AKP supporter is killed 2 is injured. I am afraid that we're going to a Civil War.

Turkey is a country torn between its Western dreams and its Islamic reality.

Turkey's exclusion from the EU is symbolic of its exclusion from the West.

Turkey has no choice but to face and embrace its Islamic heritage.

An Islamic Turkey could very easily take a leading role in the Islamic world. This will have a very interesting on relations there.

easily 10 to 20 years late , that has been the propaganda Goebbels would have been proud to come up with . And the "leadership of the Islamic World" is also in shreds with Syria a mess and Eygpt a far safer mess , considering all these leadership stuff applied to Muslim Brotherhood which was actually clever than Ankara thought . Mursi , for one , thought he "was" ruling Turkey by proxy ...

A nuclear attack against them would be treated the very same way as one against Germany or the UK.

uhhm , no . It was 1987 or '86 when a recently retired US general forcefully implied Conventional forces would not be available in case of Gorby attacking Turkey . What's the thing that people would risk a Nuclear exchange , if they were unwilling to send tactical jets and some troops ?

for the supposed loss of the A-K-P supporter , nothing on the morning news and ı would doubt it anyhow , with the Police still having enough superiority .

ah , not in the cycle for the morning news , then .

^Deaths resulting from political supporters clashing is not really big enough for morning news :(

I can only repeat that i at least hope the end result will be a better situation for all in the region...(safer and without the old fears).
But indeed it sounds like violence is always increasing currently.

There's a protest going on for death of AKP supporter in Okmeydanı district. If any violence occurs things can get really ugly. Thankfully family decided to bury their son in their hometown to avoid any more violence.

the murdered A-K-P supporter was a perfect choice . Relative of a candidate in his birth place , his death allows the accusation to be laid at the feet of the "illegal" soldiers of the Main Opposition ; his being a fan of Beşiktaş matches the 15 year olds' fandom of the same . He had returned from compulsory military service 3 months ago and this is some perfect prop to play some flag waving , too . And of course some Terrorist bunch own the killing as some victory over the internet . So that all the lights going off in the area before the designated shooter arrives in the scene can be solely attributed the Anarchists who knock down anything anyhow . His burial at his birthplace will no doubt be a touchy event as well .

the one above is Option A . Option B revolves around the Leftists who were never shy of killing people anyhow .

Another kid is shot with tear gas canister from head in Diyarbakır(A kurdish city) , he's alive for now a journalist from hospital twited that his condition is critical but al jazeera turk says he is not in mortal danger.

Journalist just tweeted that Leyla Zana -an Kurdish MP- left the room an according to her, Mehmet -the kid who is shot- was able to say "I need to pee". Hopefully he'll recover.
