The Gallic War

The real question is, do they know any of our terrority around horsebomb? If it's just black then they might decide to just sit in furbomb for acouple of turns and wait for reinfocements.

They might also send their units off in a wrong direction, giving us an extra turn.

Look guys, see if this makes sense. They landed next to Furbomb which was undefended. They know we are weak compared to them (from their military advisor). They know the Iroqi were able to sneak into Carpetbomb and torch it because it was undefended. They've been along that coast. They also know it was our capital city at one time. They know the general direction to go and they will give us no quarter. They must have secured a peace treaty with the Greeks or else they wouldn't have landed 8 swords on our shores. (They also have another galley sailing along our north-eastern coast.) Those swords can move two spaces at a time (six along their roads.) I doubt they will split their forces epecially if they guess right and find Dancing Banana.

As for rushing and building units, I say we make immortals in Unabomb, Dynopolis and Danacing Banana (YES - that immortal is worth 99 shields). Provobomb should make a pikeman. We should consider horses in Semtex, Fort Incendiary and vbraunopolis since they might all be able to attack the Galls before they Galls can attack any of our cities. If we don't builr horsemen in these cities we should build pikes because immortals from these cities will not get to attack the Galls first.

alright, forget about building the GL in Dancing Banana. we should rush an immortal there instead. i agree with you on the your rush ideas, except i think Semtex should rush a pikeman instead of a horseman. Semtex isn't too far away from the frontlines, so the pike will get their semi-quickly.

Build pikemen in Semtax and Vbraun and move the pikemen to defend Dancing Banana. Everything else should/rush build an immortal.

Theres no point in horsemen, think we should just leave em there not going to really do that much.

Here's the situation after we abandoned two cities and switched over to full military production:

theres a very likely chance they'll have got to unabomb by the end of next turn, will we abandon it or put up a bit of a defence there?

I think that depends on where they move (like do they keep that stack together or split it) and also how good our immortals do on the attack. I'll post a screenshot in the pre-turn discussion thread so we can plan things out. It might be another turn where we ask for a one day extension.

out of interest has the worker been put there as a distraction?

Couldn't move that worker that was near Furbomb. He had been irriagating and I couldn't stop him in time. Our workers are so industrious.

they'll either capture it and disband it or might just leave it, i wouldnt have thought theyd capture and leave a worker wandering around except to explore.

They ignored our worker and dropped off two more gallic swords in the east. Unabomb is dead meat. If the pike in Fort Incendiary moves 3 north, the barb will be dead next turn (with >98% certainty).

Just looked at the save.

The immortals in Dancing Banana, Unabomb, and Dynopolis can attack the gallic swordsmen immediantly. I recommend that they all attack the large stack, as the stack is closer to our core and poses more of a threat (however small).

As for rushing, I say we rush the Immortal in Grenadapolis and move the citizen working on the ivory in Carpetbomb to start working on the hill.. shorten down the gold spent rushing that Immortal.

The rest of our immortals should be in attack range within a turn or two.

By the looks of things, Unabomb will be the last city we lose. Rushed pikemen can move into Dancing Banana and Dynopolis immediantly giving Dancing Banana a defense of four pikemen and Dynopolis one. However, we have an additional 6 pikemen moving up from the south that should reach dynopolis in a turn or three.

I recommend taking some of the pikemen from dynopolis and Dancing Banana to defend our Immortals moving up towards the galls. If we move the immortals along with pikemen, we could minimize our loses.

We need that gold from the MIA though and as soon as possible.

With some luck this turn, we can start chanting "3 down and 7 more to go!"

------------

I think the real question is how far are we willing to take this? The galls will have destroyed three of our cities, alot of damage.

I vote on making sure the galls take just as much damage as we have. Once we remove the threat from our continent, shore up our coastel defenses and start building naval transports and knights. Then we ship 'em overseas and let the galls have a taste of what it feels like.

^ looks good to me, especially the beating up on KISS part. :hammer:

now, about the current KISS invasion, I guess we should abandon Unabomb, unless we think we will be able to take the city back easily from half a dozen Gallics. we should have all available Immortals in the area attack the stack closest to Dancing Banana, hopefully killing 1 or 2 of the Gallic swords. i just wrote a message we will send to MIA, so we should get the gold from MIA within the next 2 turns.

Just noticed two more things:

There is a pikeman slightly north of Dancing Banana. He is in range to move to protect both of the Immortals that will attack the gallic stack (the immortals from Dancing Banana and Dynopolis). I say we move him to protect them. See if we can pull them out of the battle after they attack safely.

If the galls do attack the pikeman, it's a 3 defense vs a 3 offense.. and the pikeman has terrian bonus's.. so it'll be even higher. So we might beable to take down another gallic swordsmen if they do attack.

Now the second thing is the Settler west of dancing banana. What are we doing with him? I recommend leaving the pikeman that is currently in the west and settle a city over there somewhere.. with the pikeman as it's defense.

Here's the east. We are lucky that galley didn't keep moving up the coast. I assume they want to kill off our warrior so they can start their Golden Age.

Here's the middle part of our country:

Our turn is due around 5 am my time (in about 11 hours as I post this). I can play it in three hours or we can ask for an extension till tomorrow about this time. (That would be a half day externsion.) Which do you all prefer?

i say we ask for an extension. these tactical decisions are important, and we are most likely to make good decisions with more time.

I agree. I'll ask for the extension.

It does look like Unabomb is a lost cause. Anyone know where our borders will end up if we abandon the city?

Don't abandon the city, if it serves to distract even one gallic swordsmen, then it'll be worth the lost.

They would look like this:

If it would only serve to distract one GS, then I'd rather have it abandoned to avoid the massive WW.
