The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

Chaos Theory is the 2nd last one :P

Go into settings and turn down the flashy bits. I forget the actual name for the setting. I play at about 50% flashy bits.

Not only did I do that a long time ago, it also didn't solve it.

I didn't feel like spamming this thread every time I got a new game so here's what I got from the steam sale ranked in order of best first impression:

Star Wars: EAW - I have been having a lot of fun playing this with a friend
Mount and Blade: Warband - I keep getting raped by horse armies, but a lot of fun
Gary's Mod - Me and my bro have had fun goofing around in this
Audio Surf - Interesting idea and pretty fun
Counter Strike: Source - Seems like a standard FPS, but I only played about 15 minutes of it
Red Orchestra: Osfront 41-45 - This I bet will be a lot of fun, but I suck at it
Tropico 3 - A little hard, but I love the idea
Dwarfs!? - I will enjoy this game a lot when I want something simple
Team Fortress Classic - I get so lost when I play this. I think I'll stick to TF2.

Unplayed games (in no particular order):
Mount and Blade
Mount and Blade: With Fire and Sword
EUIII: Divine Wind (only because it is still downloading)
X3: Terran

Ticket Redemptions:
Magicka Map
Summer Shades for TF2
X3: A sunny place

Why did you buy CSS? I mean, really? Its extremely overrated with mediocre gameplay and there is no point in having most of the guns in the game because if you use them you are at a disadvantage. The only good thing about it is that it still has large "pro" league systems. What a waste of money...

The rest of your list is a great choice though :D

Oh get over yourself. It's an enjoyable enough game that's fun for a laugh, particularly with friends and for quick half-hour blasts. If you don't like it, that's fine, there's no need to lambast him about it.

Got a bunch of stuff in the Steam sale, but playing Just Cause 2. You know those times in GTA games where you ignore the missions and just start shooting and blowing up stuff randomly for the sake of it while getting a huge wanted level and fighting an ever-increasing number of cops? That's pretty much this whole game, except with crazy grappling hooks and parachutes that are just awesome, and a landmass approximately three times the size of the earth. I'm sure it'll get old soon but for now it's fun. Also a definite challenger to Oblivion's crown of "worst voice acting in a major release".

Stop liking things i don't.
:goodjob:
"We will never abandon Counter-Strike," asserted Valve director of marketing Doug Lombardi, who went on to explain why the game hasn't received a major update since the release of Counter-Strike Source in 2004.
:goodjob:

Add Battlefront 2 to my list. I would have bought it when it was on the daily special, but I figured I could spend that money on something else. However after playing EAW I was REALLY craving some BF2.

Bought Europa Universalis III and the Half-Life 2 collection recently at high discounts. I've been playing Half-Life 2. It's as good or better than the first one, and better than the first one's expansions (Opposing Fronts kept crashing at one point for me, so I give Blue Shift the nod for the better of the first's expansions).

So far I've done relatively well at resisting the Steam sale deals, though I'm not sure I'll do so well come the Christmas one. The inevitable resale of the top sellers on the last day could also be hazardous.

It's not really a new game, but I got a BONK! sweatshirt and a Sandvich shirt for my birthday tomorrow. :p And perhaps the funniest thing was my grandparents gave it to me.
