Banfrey Scrolls of History

610 - 620 PR
487 - 497 SBC

Under Haras Aram Gankionge III, part X (10)

489 SBC/610 PR: The estimable Banfrey Merchant Marine has recently seen increased profits and expansion, due in large part to the ambitious, forward thinking people of the Yaseum Confederacy. Small, day-long festivals are held all over the coasts of Banfray to celebrate the better quality of life that came with the increased trade, and praise is given to the Yaseum people.. Major coastal cities are having trouble coping with this boom of trade, however, and put into the works is a nation-wide plan to benefit further from all this new trade.

491 SBC: With the increase of income in his country, the ancient King Haras Aram Gankionge III sees an opportunity to further increase the quality of life for his people. He orders rudimentary schools be constructed, and tutors hired from the upper classes to teach large groups of people at once. Subjects that are being taught en masse include Banfrey history and reading and writing, as well as basic mathematics.

491 SBC: An arranged marriage is anounced between the Banfrey Princess Isabelle and the Ketmirrec Prince Ashan. A Grand Ball is held in the Capitol Hills in Tasore.

493 SBC: The ancient ruler of Banfray, King Haras Aram Gankionge III, Son of the esteemed King Aram Horehck Gankionge II, passes away in his sleep at the ripe age of 70. The Ketmirrec and Banfrey royal families attend a traditional festival in the King's honor, where Crown Prince Ari Haras Gankionge takes the throne ceremonially.

As is custom, in honor of Kings past:

Under Ari Haras Gankionge I, part I (1)

495 SBC: The major port cities of Banfray are preparing for the eventual countless waves of explorers, adventurers and colonists that will come sailing along the Banfrey coast in years to come. With much of the northwesterly coasts unmapped and uncharted, it is unknown how many pioneers will pass through. A domestic plan consisting mainly of strategic taxes and laws combined with the increased Merchant Marine should bring in alot of revenue, they're hoping.

496 SBC: The neglected cities in the interior of the country are longing for the good life had by those on the coast. King Ari Haras Gankionge I, hearing these pleas, orders an extensive road system be built to help trade reach these cities. Construction begins as the war in Anris breaks out.

496 SBC: With the recent desecration of Ketmirrec forces by the Anrisian navy, many Banfrey Merchant Marines are fearing for their well being. Most are clearing out of Ketmir waters, seeking refuge in Yaseum or Banfrey trade lanes.

497 SBC/620 PR: As Anris is declared a Ketmirrec Princedom, many festivals are held in Ketmir's honor as the Banfrey princess Isabelle is proclaimed Queenheir to Anris, wife of the Prince Ashan of Ketmir.

From: Oligarchy of the North
To: Craydonia Empire, Belz Republic, Onsam Kingdom

Such a union would be of great benefit to all it's members. (Trade with Belz, Craydonia and Onsam? :D)

Would we have to contribute ships to this Mutual Naval Trade Defense Pact, in effect patrolling other's waters? This would be a strain on our largely sea-based economy; give us a few years(a turn) if so.

edit: OOC:
Poor man's stories, more like Lazy man's stories, Eltain :P

The Kingdom of Onsam will not enter into a trade union with the Empire of Craydon, they have proven themselves dishonorable in attacking our ships. Until our investigation concludes and we feel they were not behind it as they claim, we will reconsider our position. But until then Onsam will trade with the Oligarchy and Belz.

Interesting story/documents Eltain.

Great news!

Despite we find that claim laughable (if we wanted to destroy your navy, we would of done so already.) we accept your folly, as just that.

Stop your conflict please. It does not amuse us.

Yes. Our ships will patrol the waters together.

Excellent! Give us a few years, as we said.

Trade is still possible between our two nations, though, yes?

Yes, we can trade.

Its good to see we can trade, at least. Those Craydonian idiots don't know what they are missing.

We have been distracted of late by our neighbors and their agressive posture towards us, once they stop these acts of stupidity we would be open to trade with your people.

CC: Any other nation involved

Yes, we do miss the trade of the Abdol states. Frankly, we could care less if you are protectorates of Creul, or they are protectorates of you. We grow weary of this lack of trade however, and hope your nations will come to a conclusion ASAP, lest our soldiers do the talking.

Seeing that you are the economic force.. in the world, dare I say, we we're wondering if you could let us borrow 1 ASP.. we'll pay you back, with interest, of course.

ooc: yes, i know it was a lame story. i have another that will be posted just before the update, however, that is a different kind of lame! you can give a bonus for whichever one you want, lizard.

Would you lower yourself to associate with us easterners? We're looking to expand our trading contacts in the region; an exchange of resources would benefit us both.

We look to expand our trading partners in the region; with the loss of your merchant marine, you could use this trade now more than ever.

Why not.

I just sent in my orders. I bet this turn will be interesting.

Nigosate peace with us, or it will be war.

Errm... I recieved your orders. Okay. Keep in mind you can revise them whenever you want.

Also, remember that your nations Esaya aren't at war.. so.. their is already peace..

Anris, you are free to grow and trade and prosper. We wish you to grow strong under our guidance and protection.

We would ask that you not involve yourselves in this matter of succession. We understand that the lack of trade between the petty states hurts your own southern provinces, but until the Abdol States either recognize Creul as their rightful leader or cease to exist altogether we must continue to press our attack.

However! When the time comes for the horrible conflict to end the Kingdom of Creul would be more than glad to offer preferential treatment of your merchants as well as open borders between our two great nations.

Very well. We will stay to ourselves for a bit, as long as your are serious about the trade part.. But, mind you, we wish for trade to be resumed as soon as possible. It is our economy that is feeling the brunt of this. We will give you a few more years to sort yourselves out.. but then, we may have to commit ourselves to aggressive negotiations. On our own side, of course.
